  1. I'll try to remember to take a pic of mine. Someone gave them to me one year for Christmas. They have anti-slip spots on the bottom.
  2. Sounds warm. i have a pair of pizza socks i wear when i'm super cold.. They are not pretty, but they work.
  3. Michael would not ask that ... He'd tell me, but not ask. hehe
  4. not far off...lol
  5. Aw, Gary! I adore you. Okay, Michael, who is a walking toaster oven, wouldn't wear shorts outside in this weather. i feel cold all the time. To the store i wore thick trousers (jeans are useless in the cold, cotton does not keep you warm) a turtleneck shirt, then a flannel shirt over that and then a hat, scarf, gloves, parka and boots. I had my ear mitts with me, but it wasn't windy, so i didn't need them. I'm still in the same clothes except for the flannel shirt. i have on socks and slippers, i'm covered up with my home knitted scrap blanket and i have a hot cup of tea. The heat is on too. Inside, Michael would be in a cotton t-shirt and a pair of thin shorts, no socks. However, now and then He will say he feels cool. LOL.
  6. Something changed here, it was supposed to be that cold here, but it's a balmy 21f. Puttin' on shorts for my walk to the grocery store!
  7. They were fun to make. We ate them with the Moroccan Stew i made a few days ago. Next time, i will do as she mentions and stop after the first prove and put the dough in its bowl into the fridge. More taste will develop overnight. As well, i didn't have the fast instant yeast, i'd get that next time. I also didn't put in the sugar... i put in an 1/8th of a teaspoon and the yeast seemed happy. I think the fast one will help with the rise after you roll out the dough before putting in the frying pan. But mine did puff up a bit and tasted good. I enjoyed making them.
  8. Brilliant, it sounds great.
  9. Are you taking a tour, or just doing your own thing? I think that's great.
  10. Well, with all this travel talk.. tomorrow i'm going to the grocery store, today is laundry, vacuuming, making naan for dinner. Nothing exciting to report. Here is the recipe for naan... https://www.recipetineats.com/naan-recipe/
  11. Hush yourself up. Yeah, it's cold. I have 3 fall/winter coats. Two pairs of boots. Dress right and it's doable. If you wanna wear sandals in winter (and people do here) and you're cold or need an amputation, that's on them/you. I get tired of hot weather food ... i like me a good stick-to-your-ribs stew. You'll be happier when you get your car fixed. I spent 1.5 hours in with our very nice bank advisor and my Husband today sorting our mutual funds, retirement savings and credit cards. There was discussion of POAs and beneficiaries. It's done now, and the best part was our late Vietnamese lunch. Dinner will be porridge and toasted sour dough bread. I don't want that in summer.
  12. Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your family, food and friends. Have a great long weekend too, if you're so lucky.
  13. Shouldn't or can't eat a lot of chocolate (like i shouldn't) but want some (like me), then try these... wow, they are very nice, just a lil hit of chocolate. Perfect.
  14. Morning walk done. On the way to make lentil bread and an apple, plum, cherry crisp for dessert tonight (and the next few nights). I slept but feel so tired. I think dinner will be porridge and a slice of buttery toast with a good strong cup of tea. That's a good thing for Saturday night, i think. Hope you all have a good and an excellent weekend.
  15. It's for the best.

    Chapter 1

Thanks so much, Cassie. i appreciate you reading this and i'm happy you enjoyed it!
  17. We're gonna have soup but not that one. Thanks, though. We have some chicken in the fridge, and we'll add grated carrot and spinach to Walmart's low salt chicken noodle soup mix. Which is surprisingly good. We'll add a homemade whole wheat roll and that'll do it.
  18. Have a good day all.
  19. omg, both my arms are killing me, it's nuts. Michael kindly ordered in for dinner last night, but i need to make something tonight, stuff in the fridge needs using.
  20. Snowing out. Shovelled yesterday. We're supposed to get more, but i've had covid shot in the left arm and flu in the right. Neither really want to shovel anything, atm. I think there is a little electric snow mover-y thingy somewhere. I will track it down, it should be able to do the bit of snow we'll get. Only the sidewalk and path needs doing if we get more. Michael and i shovelled it last night. It is cold but not windy, so it was a nice walk to the pharmacy to get the vaccines. Have a good day folks.
  21. Thank you very much, Starry. He was a blessing, and his memory is too. We miss him every day.

    Chapter 1

Thank you for reading and your comment. Trees are remarkable beings, i think you're right, and we should give more thought to all living things.

    Chapter 1

Thank you so much. I'm pleased that you liked it. It was a nice change of pace to write it.
  24. Oh, yes. Have fun with that. i'm always surprised at the amount of research needed to write my stories. Research brings cool things sometimes, like, Kodama. I'd never heard of them before. Remember, however, during Franco's time, people did not have as much info or access to it, as you do now. Something to consider.
