  1. A very confused Brody wondered what was going on and who were these mad people, or had he gone home from the sleepover?

Um, the Colonel's a sadist, not a masochist.

    My Hidden Accounts

Just one thing, wouldn't an Englishman use grey , not gray? I'm English and it seems wrong for him to use the American spelling.

    Chapter 9

You can usually get files off flash cards so long as they haven't been overwritten by new files. Free programs available on the net. Lots of apps on Google play.
  6. How about "Are you my mummy?" I found that one really creepy.
  7. A friend's young son had nightmares for days after watching "Don't Blink" , their first episode.
  8. Yes, that one. I think he makes a consistent error throughout it, he uses " 'cause" instead of " 'course" as a contraction for "of course (I am)" . Unless it was supposed to be "because I am" but that , if I remember correctly, didn't fit the character's conversation. I have no trouble looking up obscure words either, but, like you, wish people wouldn't use a thesaurus without checking a words meaning. Another misuse is definitely when the author meant defiantly, makes me want to send a message to get it corrected. Frustrated beta reader:-)
  9. Try Aladdin's Awakening, you'll be looking up very obscure words . Eg. Passel, epergne, rodemontade, theorbo, inceanubula. I gave up listing them after a few chapters Apart from the usual lose/loose spelling mistake, one that often catches people out is viola instead of voilà . I generally skip graphic sex scenes , I don't find they help a story flow (and remind me of what I'm not getting!)

    FST Chapter 1

Tom broke protocol, you wait for the queen to speak to you first.
  12. Christie wrote Hickson a letter in 1946 saying she hoped she'd play Marple later on. Took 38 years. I think she's closer too the books' character, small, quiet, unobtrusive, and not as energetic.
  13. I agree, David Suchet is Poirot. And Joan Hickson the perfect Marple.

Not at my age, will go straight on the waist! I'll give the bread a miss and just have the chips, salt , vinegar, battered cod.

    Chapter 19 - Ian

I was given something like that in Florida, rice and potatoes on the same plate. I didn't say I eat chip butties, just what they are. :-) Don't think I've had one for at least 30 years.

    Chapter 19 - Ian

Not French fries as found in fast food restaurants, chips are thick and chunky. White bread, butter, chips plus condiment of your choice (ketchup or brown sauce). Main difference between shepherd's and cottage pies that a lot of people get wrong, cottage pie is minced beef, shepherd's pie is minced lamb (shepherds are sheep herders, using beef in a shepherd's pie doesn't make sense).

  23. What could go wrong? Actually, seems like it could be the premise for a story. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-41188560
  24. My favourite Rod Stewart track. Based on a real person that he knew, but in the song he wasn't killed for being gay, just a mugging that goes wrong.
