You kidding me? Indie avoids anything that could be interpreted as jealousy because his squeak toy's ego is bad enough as it is.

Actually, that is Chris Colfer. But yeah, he's not as developed as Preston. It's not threat of violence that worries him. He just doesn't want to be hit on.

I'm still a little apprehensive about Chris. Like I said before, it just seems like too much of a coincidence that he's there right when Colt is. Plus, his last name carries too many negative associations. A "fink" is an informer. Amanda was the one interviewing him during his Metaview, and very pointedly asked him about Colt. Someone could be using that connection to gather intelligence. As for Rob, is it possible for a person being shadowed to believe they're having a relationship with and seeing someone without ever actually having to do so? Maryann could have control of Rob from afar, making him go wait somewhere, thinking he's hooking up with "Gee" (who could very well not exist if Maryann is that good). And we know that Jeffrey can affect an English accent, so why not his mother?

Epilogue -- Christmas Eve Eve
Dayne Mora commented on Dayne Mora's story chapter in Epilogue -- Christmas Eve Eve
Conversion therapy might get in the way of football... The prologue for Wild Card is up. -
Okay, so I'm not the only one who hates Jade. Seth is a much better friend to Dorian, and is doing what Jade thinks she's doing. It's telling that Dorian tells Seth the truth about Jerry and Wes, and about the rest of the crap in his life. I liked Vicky, and thought her advice was really insightful. In her place, I probably would have raised doubts about Mike's fidelity (it's interesting that David connects to Alex's situation and not Felix's).

It's kinda hard to mark puberty in males, especially compared to females. It could also be that Cory is trying to sound older than he is, and would act or seem slightly more mature than kids his own age, which is pretty normal when one has much older siblings. If it makes you feel better, my original concept for the Card boys had them staggered more evenly, like the Garza siblings, but the idea for "Girl Bait" came along and I just had to adjust their ages. And hohochan, I'm sorry i made ya cry. Work on chapter 1 is progressing more smoothly now that I got the "Girl Bait" story out of my head.

I promise, chapter 1 will move things forward. -
The kitten dream was when Cory was 10, so about 8 years before the start of WLM.

Brotherhood of the Midnight Cake

I worried that giving this view of Cory and his family, without getting into the meat of what happened to him would piss off readers. I'm glad that it was received as intended. -

I still have a story idea kicking around on the origins of the "girl bait" thing. Actually, the girl bait and Cake Club have real life counterparts (although, not as formalized). -

Cory's brothers don't know where he is, according to Cameron. It was a while back, but Cameron already knew about Cory (Cam walked in on him fooling around with another boy several years before the events of WLM, but was cool about the whole thing). -

We kinda got small hints here and there about Connor Sr., but since we're still seeing him from Cory's perspective, the dots aren't connecting. But, yeah, things don't looks so good. -

College football and basketball is pretty huge in the states. I still gets me that the Jacksonville Jaguars (professional football team) has to blackout local coverage of their games because not enough people buy tickets to fill Alltel stadium (which was built for the 2005 Super Bowl), but the annual bowl game between the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs fills it to capacity, and then some. You'll see people sporting logos for various colleges, even though they've never attended said college, or have plans to attend. It's worse in Texas, especially for high school. You wouldn't believe the sports complexes they build out here. -

Thanks, Blue. Luckily, I've just posted the prologue for book 2! -
Cory's first semester of college had ended on a high note--a boyfriend who was crazy about him, a budding romance between his best friend and his newest roommate, and more new friends than he could keep straight (but were cool that he wasn't). His life in Virginia was better than he could have imagined all those months back. So, what the hell went wrong?

E-P-I-C, Book 2: Wild Card Wild about Wild Card ~Ally Horton, LonghornSportsCast.com Tomorrow, the Friday Night Lights will light up across Texas as hundreds of high school boys take the field. Crowds will gather, and many a young man hopes a college recruiter or two will be in the stands. Of course, for one high school in the lower part of Hill Country, those recruiters are a sure thing. But, their sights are set on one young man. As seventeen-year-old Cibolo Hig

I book marked the artist's commission information. His statuettes start at $150 (with color, I think). Might commission him to do something with the characters once I find a suitable "spirit animal" for Indie.

There is a difference between making a joke that references common assumptions that you know aren't true, and making a joke that references common assumptions that you believe to be true. Of course JAR knows Marines aren't dumb. And there are Marines and other service personnel who would take offense to the drinking and carousing jokes. I know some of the Navy's uniform and appearance regulations (like visible tattoos, or tattoos in general) are around because the branch wants to combat its negative associations. In other words, joke away!
