  1. We're doing great! After Max's ballet performance, I noticed there was a new ornament added to our tree at home. Seems Max wasn't the only one who thought about getting a present for his friend.
  2. @raven1 Hey, Terry! I hope you and Aod are well!
  3. I saw a show about maple syrup production. Because of the boiling process, most syrups end up tasting the same. Homogenous, from one brand to the next. Now, though, some manufacturers are choosing to use an evaporation process instead of boiling. So you can taste the unique characteristics of each brand by the region the syrups were made in. Sort of like the "terroir" in a bottle of wine.
  4. Hey, Drew! Yup! Christmas was great!
  5. Did you forget who you're talking to? You'll have to share Steve with him.
  6. We're having Bacon-Gruyere gougeres and herbed cream cheese spread for appetizers. For the main meal, it's honey-baked ham with potatoes Romanoff and roasted carrots. For my nephews, I made macaroni-and-cheese earlier in the day. It will bake in the oven at the same time as the potatoes.
  7. I agree with Clo. Your nephew is adorable, B.
  8. @raven1 Hey, Terry! And one more little bit before I go to bed: Those Christmas ornaments that Max bought in Frankenmuth? Max had one wrapped and ready to present to Michael, after the show on Friday. I made sure to speak with Michael's family on the phone, to let them know that the boys wanted to meet later. Things get chaotic, with dancers cleaning up, changing clothes and rushing off to Elsewhere. So, we wanted to be sure we got our opportunity for Michael to receive his gift. I spent a few minutes chatting with Michael's mom after the show, so I didn't see the present change hands, but I gather it went well.
  9. Well, you're the expert.
  10. Hey, Dugh and Mum!
  11. Yeah, they do. He arrived about a week after his 9th birthday, and now he's three months shy of his 12th.
  12. Not for another six years and three months. So far, Max is growing up gracefully, and I know he'll be a great man one day. It's a little bittersweet for me, and for Morgan, because this next year will be his last before Max becomes a teenager.
  13. Oh, and Max's ballet troupe had their performance today. Some of the cookies were still cooling when we left the house to get ready. It was a lovely display, and Max landed every....cue? Is that the right word for a dance routine? Anyway, there wasn't a single misstep, and I loved watching every minute of it. We ate at Pepe Nero afterwards. A bit expensive, especially with the impending holiday, but Max deserved a treat after a job well-done.
  14. We're doing well. We made lots of cookies today. Lemon curd thumbprint cookies, brandy snaps, snickerdoodles, and maple-pecan cookies, just to name a few.
  15. Hey, Terry! How are you and Aod?
  16. Hey, Sam! *Waves*
  17. Hey, Terry! I love the palm tree!
  18. Pretty much.
  19. Glad to hear it!
  20. Yes, you do!
  21. I may have been wrong about the Nile being saltwater, but I wasn't wrong about you being familiar with it.
  22. Now that I'm finished consulting Google, the Nile isn't saltwater, either. Though, it is fed by several saline sources.
  23. I live in Michigan. No saltwater here.
