You know what I think of your hummingbirds. I loved these - so evocative of your summer, perhaps everyone's summer if you are lucky enough to have access to nature unfettered. My favourite? I've just re-read them, trying to decide, and no, I can't single one out. They're all wonderful in their own way.

I don't think that matters. I'm sure that applies to a lot of people. It's the learning new things, both how to use the computer itself, and what might be garnered from it. Together, as you say, with the connections it allows, most of which would be impossible otherwise.

Hasn't he changed. In even the short time since he first met Andy, Eric's view of the world has altered for the better. We have a sense he has something to live for now. Thank you for all your comments and support.

Thanks, Val. It was made plain in YeahWrite's notes that the bourdon would make or break this form. The goal is to have the repeated line's meaning shift back and forwards depending on the rest of the verse.

Number 2 made me grin. It's always when you have to write something that your vocabulary melts away. Words do indeed hide in shrubs. 😛 3 I found a magical way of describing us writers, and yes, we do leave ourselves wide open, like the windows. Thank you for introducing me to this form. -
Once I'd gathered what Unborn was about, it made me smile. Words which fail to gel into anything useful, never mind creative? I know them well. Gary's comment about being 'creeped out 'at the start is entirely apt. Nobody who loves life will also love death. The Victorian black-ness that surrounds death and grief is finally fading away, I think. Not a moment too soon.

Yes, I think that's one of the things I love about him too. It makes him a joy to write, and a complete antithesis to most other gay characters. I'm very pleased you enjoyed the story, and I hope you will join us in January for the next part of his tale.

Reading this again (probably with more care this time ), I'm fascinated by the undercurrents running through Twoey's group. Particularly from the narrator, Gary. His tensions give a little more bite to the proceedings. It's lovely to have another brief reunion with the A-Z characters.

Andy stopped for a moment to check his list. He looked at the small mound of foodstuffs piled on the kitchen table and then back at the list. Had he forgotten something?
