I actually borrowed a lot from Bourne, the movie Daryl, some of War Games, Dexter. Mr Robot was a huge inspiration for the split mentality part. Im still not giving it away though.

I got a little behind! LOL The amount of notifications I get even before I got promoted was insane, and I don’t expect that to change. And good catch on the mystery healing bit. 😉 All except for that nagging .. well lol

I actually love Rodney as a character, yes I’m horrible but I kept it professional. Forgive me as you read though I was still fighting with the plot at this point I had the general ideas down as to what happened to this dude but I was still working out the whys. i hadn’t nailed down the villain yet. But it got a little clearer as I worked on it. I still need to go back and fix some “time issues” in later chapters but eh I’ll get around to it eventually.

I kinda wish I had Liam’s discipline, but my mind unfortunately is very chaotic instead of orderly which is why I end up with baffling brilliance for a short time then absolutely nothing, like a battery that has to recharge. When I go silent it’s because I’ve reached a level of deadlock, it’s like a stuck loop with nothing to break it until it breaks on its own. And yeah I’m working my way through the stories of Liam and Rick, both are pretty intense characters in their own right.

Just now reading this, trying to catch up on my list. @Kileoli this is really good writing, somehow this chapter manages to explain the art of writing itself in a manner I didn’t expect when Liam is doing the beta read. Also I totally heard that Skype ring tone in my head, it’s something from an era long gone we won’t get to see again lol. This is seriously good stuff.

Man what a trip, literally. As I said in a previous comment it’s kinda terrifying lol. Just learning another language is a time consuming process, just wow. Poor Malik. edit: oh I beat @Jason Rimbaud nice.

Of course I’ve known this was coming but the whole thing still humbles me. Instead of a long winded reply, I just want to say thank you to the staff here at GA, especially @Valkyrie and @Cia who never failed to respond to a question when I needed advise on something crazy, to @Graeme and the team of volunteers who had to spend a few months reading everything I’ve written here, and the staff in general for making this whole thing work in the first place. I joined this site back in 2006 but was more of a silent member for most of that time, it wasn’t until recently I actually started posting work and I thank the dearly departed Comicality for that one because I emailed him on a whim and he sent me a 10,000 word reply that basically said, “just write, even if it’s just for you.” To all my readers, commenters, reviewers and everyone whose even just reacted with a like to my stories I thank you as well, because even though Comicality gave me that shove off a cliff, all of you made me fly. And for that I am the most thankful of all. Okay that was still long winded. 😂. Now that this is done, time to write!

This story ended up being an interesting one, many here seemed to love it and it’s got a sequel in the planning stages. Thanks for reading it Cassie.

Yikes. Yeah definitely not Kansas anymore. The ramifications of all of this is actually terrifying when you think about it.

Totally happy to see this is finally making it to posting. I have a feeling Malik is about to find himself not in Kansas anymore, because really who leaves a perfectly functional interdimensional gateway in one of the most shady locals imaginable lol. @CassieQ great job on this, with the art work @Thirdly did I was already curious about this, but yeah chapter 1 has a nice hook.

Yeah my apologies on that, I had to step away as I do sometimes. I'm trying to get ahead on my work before I post it so they're mostly done hence the wait. Plus I needed a small break.

Hey thanks! That seems to be my thing no matter the genre. I'm sure you read some of the comments on Chapter 1 and how I ended up with it, it was probably one of the best intro's I've ever written.

I actually did have an idea on what you propose that was born out of another prompt I think it was the one about two people having a conversation with each other. But the idea is a dude working for a defense contractor ends up being friends with a co worker and suddenly spy stuff happens. It was a crazy idea.

I haven’t made it to episode 2 yet. I’m trying lol.

I’m seriously thinking about seeing if I can wing both themes into one story. I almost have a thread of an idea. Something about the colors on the cover art sparked something.

Yeah I’m not sure I can do this in 25,000 words but at least I’ve got time to think about it. 😂
