Found out again! Looks like I need to find myself an American beta reader :-) Once I got the idea for the story I had to set it in the US simply because the UK weather is so rarely good enough to want to go outside and sleep on a blanket on the ground! You have a point about the secrecy but in those circumstances I wonder what percentage would have believed the true story? Anyway, glad you enjoyed and thanks for the review Lisa. Ivor.

Thanks Geron. I agree with you about facts in comparison to assumptions, but then there are 'alternative facts' that one seemingly also needs to consider....... Sometimes these odd words will come together and spark something that the muse would not otherwise have discovered.

You make a very good point Jeffrey about the need to talk in a relationship. I suppose it was rather sad, but it did seem that they were going to get back together at the end. Appreciate the review.

It was a motley collection of words, but immediately I saw them the germ of an idea came to mind that seems to have worked. I'm glad that you enjoyed reading it and appreciate the positive comment.

Our Tune I’d got into the habit pretty soon after he left. I know living in New York there were plenty of other options for how to spend the evening after work. I could have gone to the movies or the theatre but those would still have meant sitting in the dark on my own –without him. I could have gone to a restaurant I suppose – but a table for one? Thanks, CG. It's very much the point that Tommy was one of the lucky ones in that he still had his parents - and Daisy - when many others lost everything. Back then there wasn't much in the way of material possessions but those could be replaced, people couldn't. Come to that I doubt he'd have got much in his Christmas stocking anyway - perhaps an apple but there were no oranges or bananas for most. Mind you, as his father worked on the docks perhaps a crate of those split open or went missing while being unloaded...........

This was a real fun packed and highly entertaining Christmas story. You definitely had me goggling a couple of times with some of your ideas. And although there was a lot of whimsy there were also plenty of serious counterpoints. I'm with Gary in that I reckon you just might be able to make a living out of writing.......perhaps you should seriously consider it? Ivor

You gave me the answers I wanted tim so thanks for that. But I'm left with this feeling that Dave is getting off too easy. He spurns Jae which leads to him getting killed and now he's come back home and is falling immediately into another relationship. Maybe he never really loved Jae? I wonder what might have happened had Jae stayed around? Which one would he have chosen then?
