  1. For John a picture in a magazine brings back memories of his time at an English Boarding School

    Chapter 1

I've never really imagined the US as being the place to open a 'Recycled Shop' - thought everyone was too busy buying the latest new gizmo and throwing the one they bought last year in the trash. Nice to know that is a misconception. As for the story, I'm glad Steve & Chris got together and pleased that those shorts played a brief part in that :-)

    Chapter 4

Must be hard to have trust in such a world. You conveyed the problem very well - for both groups.

    Chapter 1

Thank you for such a riveting review! :-) It is said that you learn something new every day and that sure proved to be true here.

    Chapter 1

I've just read this story for the second time Geron and enjoyed it every bit as much as I did the first. Where I come from Halloween is virtually meaningless; reading this made me realise what we are missing! Your descriptions enabled me to visualise everything so clearly and share the fun that Charlie and his friends were having both on the night and at the party. Now what comes next, Charlie's Christmas Cracker??

    Chapter 1

Thanks Geron! I'll confess the last tine was a very last second piece of inspiration that suddenly flew down and landed on my typing fingers. Even though I'd named the lad Lee I hadn't done so with any ulterior intentions. Ivor.

    Chapter 1

Thanks CG! Glad you enjoyed. There sure is something about the way houses used to be built when they had an individual look to them as opposed to what we get now - at least over here. I do have a pic of a teen wearing the clothes described, hence the detailed description. Thy are definitely eye catching! I'd send it you, but .......... Regards. Ivor.
  8. A short story based on Prompt 536. http://www.gayauthors.org/story/ivor-slipper/aweekendaway/1
  9. A Weekend Away I was amazed – I’d actually managed to qualify as an Eagle Scout at the grand old age of 14 years, 9 months and 3 days. Now I knew that didn’t make me the youngest ever as some kid had qualified a few years back when he was just over 12 which I found freaking amazing. I had to give up on a lot of things to achieve it at my age, but to do it a whole two plus years earlier – gee the kid couldn’t have had any life apart from scouting! Still, now I’d made it perhaps I could relax

It'll be alright if Samuel Davis' group is led by a man with a bald head and dressed in black :-)

Thanks for the comments. Glad to know what I was trying to achieve worked for you. Ivor.

    Transplanted

Thank you very much for the review. It was sad, but there was a lot of happiness along the way -albeit only briefly. Ivor.

    Chapter 1

Hi CG, Thanks for the review. The story was meant to be fun, so I'm glad that came over. The idea of Cal having originated in Britain hadn't occurred to me, but it would have gone some way to maybe explaining him using those words. Too late now though..... As I just said to Geron this was intended to be a one off story, but there could be some more fun to be extracted from the group as well as Callum & Jake. Thanks. Ivor.

    Chapter 1

Hi Geron, Thanks for the research! My knowledge of American words evidently fails to match my knowledge of Texan school discipline. Sorry for that as I don't like to make such errors. I hadn't really considered these two making a further appearance, but I'll give it some thought. Ivor

    Chapter 1

Hi Jay, Thanks for the review. I'm glad that my errors didn't ruin the story or you. I'll definitely try and do better next time I try and write a story set in the USA. Perhaps I could use some lessons from Miss Samuels??

    Chapter 1

Thanks for the constructive comments. I do agree that neither sweets nor cinema should have been there. Lolly I think is slightly more questionable as that was how they were described on the jar, so perhaps Callum would have used that word when taking about them. However, I've changed that and also the sweets and cinema to the appropriate words. I must though disagree with you about the paddling. That very definitely still happens in public schools in Texas - and other states - as confirmed above by Geron. Thanks again for the comments. Ivor.
  18. Three Strikes and I’m Out? Of course it would happen today of all days, wouldn’t it? Any other day it would have been a pain, but today it is going to be a mega disaster. What is it my Pop calls it – Murphy’s Law or Sod’s Law I think, or maybe they are the same thing – you know when something happens that is sort of pre destined but you really don’t want it to happen. Guess I’d better try and explain. Me and my friends, Jake, Danny, Raul and Sam, are all heavily into bowling.
  19. It's Friday and 14 year old Callum has plans to spend time with hi friends once school is out. But we all know what can happen to the best laid plans.......
  20. Thanks, Gary. Glad to know you're liking it enough to stay with the story.

    Chapter 2

"Into every life a little rain must fall" Let's hope it is just a passing shower and not a full blown storm. Excellent chapter and enjoying the story - thanks.
  22. Glad you liked it CG and appreciate the Review. Can't imagine there will be another chapter; just hadn't got round to marking it as 'complete'.
  23. I wasn't considering another chapter, Geron. I very much doubt I could fit in all the prompts again without it becoming very repetitive. Just needed to make things a bit brighter for Brandon.
  24. In response to popular demand (well, two requests to be honest!), I've now written a further chapter. http://www.gayauthors.org/story/ivor-slipper/thesilkenweb/2
  25. The water was starting to feel cold as he moved in the bath, so Brandon gingerly hauled himself out and stood on the tile floor to grab a towel. It hurt as he bent over to pull the plug and let the water run out. Then he dried himself, gently patting into the area between his legs, while doing so taking frequent glances at the towel to see how badly it was stained. By the time he’d finished there was some blood on it, but not so much that he considered he needed to ditch the towel, which might c
