  1. You see the notorious pirate king Jose Gaspar plundered the Spanish Fleet and used Tampa as his port of call. He died taking his secret to the grave of where his buried treasure is out. Then in 1904, the YE Mystique Krew of Gasparilla started to invade the city of Tampa, forcing the mayor to turn over the key to the city and look for the plundered booty. Every year since they have come, but instead of looking for treasure, they throw beaded necklaces, gold coins, and other things to the crowd along Bayshore Blvd.
  2. Nothing like the sound of cannon fire in the morning. The Pirates have arrived! The clouds of burning cordite and black powder will be floating by soon.
  3. Yes. I talk to you. LOL. I find talking it over with someone that can slap me upside the head is a good way to get out of them.
  4. Back later... off to drink some nice wine, and chill for a bit.
  5. Interesting prompts this week. 729 reminds me of my series.
  6. I just got back. It was a very welcomed experience. Spent about an hour there. Hope everyone is doing Okay.
  7. Hey everyone, I posted something inappropriate earlier, and I apologize for it. It has been deleted. A personal apology to tim and to Mike, for posting that here.
  8. It took me a couple of times reading this for me to come up with an adequate response. To start off, there was a lot of imagery in this piece that I found excellently told. The rhyming sounded spot on to me, and it flowed well from start to finish. I couldn't help but to make a connection to one of my favorite poems by Dylan Thomas - Don't Go Gentle Into That Good Night. While Dylan's is more about raging at the end of your days; yours made me think of someone who's accepted it's his end. Not only acceptance but flowing through the good memories he's made over the years. Spectacular job, my Brother.
  9. True. It was meant more of a joke.
  10. Fly-by hello. School going well, just been Hell the past couple of days. Even though I went to the fitness center yesterday, I may end up back there again today. It's great stress relief. Later Tatters.
  11. Thanks, everyone. Our professor suggested it for not only the rest of this class but our future accounting classes as well. To quote her, "Knowing the equations are nice, but being able to do the equations quickly when you have clients in the professional world, is more important."
  12. It's somewhere between watching flies fuck and watching paint dry. On the positive side of things, once all this is done, and I have my C.P.A. cert/Lisc. I'll know how to game the system legally.
  13. Also, if anyone has a suggestion on a good Financial Calculator, I'd be much obliged to hear that advice.
  14. Just a Fly-by to say Hi. This week's focus in my Accounting/Math class... Introduction to the US Federal Tax Code.

Thank you very much, Marty, for reading and the comment. It was a difficult topic, had to stop and walk away a few times from being pissed off. I appreciate the compliment, thank you again.

    Eric - Full Story

Thank you very much, Mac, for reading and the comment. I feel that there's a lot more to Eric's story, and he'll eventually get back to where he needs to be.
  18. We're 79 F today. Tomorrow we'll be lucky to reach 59 F, as another cold front moves through. It's supposed to dump a crapload of water on us tonight too.

    Eric - Full Story

Thank you very much, JefferyL, for reading and the comment. It was a hard story to write and edit as well. I was challenged to write this story and put it off and off until I felt compelled to write it. This is the product of about three hours of writing and research. I think we all need a little Greg in our lives. I try to surround myself with Gregs and can count on several as close friends.
