I'm glad you feel protected and cared for on here, molly, and that your Sir entrusts that to us.

Length of time doesn't matter (I'm suddenly feeling old...lol). You and I are both 'in it', equally. There's always room for learning, on all sides. But if someone on the outside looking in refuses to listen and learn and try to understand, then my gloves will come off, without hesitation. I know you are the same in that regard. We are protectors and care givers.

@MichaelS36 Thanks for saying this. I mentioned something similar a short time ago in DIC - although much more succinct. Constructive dialogue has many more positive results than jumping to defensive-mode. Although, believe me, I get it.

Unfortunately, it is a touchy subject, William. For those of us in the Life, it's common to feel misunderstood and be judged according to those misconceptions. "Weird" is but one word too often associated with how we live. Therefore, open dialogue is encouraged, so long as judgements are left at the door. Thank you for wanting to be a part of the discussion. Education is important in all aspects.

Hard-hitting and full of truth, tim. It happens all too often, throughout all cultures and throughout all time, regardless of gender or orientation.

We all make mistakes. No one is immune from it. The point is that we forgive ourselves and one another and move forward.

Your poems often intrigue me, Parker. These two are no different. There is math in art, therefore pairing mathematics with poetry seems apropos. That doesn't mean I understand all of the nomenclature...but I sure appreciate the messages you conjure up within the lines. In particular: yet doubled would I bend your frame, so my parameters you'd chant... Good reads for a Monday morning. Cheers - Mac

For those who have (or have had) someone like Gran in their lives, they are fortunate. Too many of us have had Miriams. I can't tell you how many times I've heard the you're-an-abomination-to-God remark. Louis and Don are clearly in a loving marriage, and Miriam can just go stick it where the sun don't shine. Good riddance to her, and I hope she stays away. I appreciate you providing a flashback of Louis, tim. As I've stated before, you're adding bits and pieces to your characters as we go along, which continues to enrich the story. Another great chapter, and I look forward to the next. P.S. I laughed while reading that Louis stopped for a "giant honking milkshake." Great phrase.

Each rope, each knot tied with purpose and care. An intimacy based not just in the physical body but in the abdication of control and a willingness to trust. Submitting to these new experiences shows what a fine boy you are, tim. I know Mike is very proud of you. I am, too.

It's not a matter of going back. you've always been who are you right now, it just wasn't brought to the surface right away. Never apologize for it, boy.

In this chapter, we get to see a larger glimpse of the closeness that Louis and Don share, which draws us closer to them. This further fleshing out of characters and their individual personalities adds significant content to what has already become a compelling story. The farm sounds like a very promising prospect for them (good to have the mother-in-law quarters in a separate building...) People bitch about cliffhangers, but they are a necessary evil in writing sometimes. Keeping your readers thirsty for more is the whole point! Excellent writing, as always. Cheers, my boy.

Wow... this is a surprise. you created a blog? So much for just visiting this site. Thank you for the sentiment here, sean. As long as you follow, I will lead you, my boy.

@mad_artist Recipe for you.

This is a remarkable piece, tim. Not only because of the content, which expertly portrays the sights, sounds and tangible objects you encountered during your walk, but your ability to transform those images and emotions into a beautiful haibun like this. Excellent work. you did well.

This story started with a bang and continues to pull us through on the same tenuous line in this chapter. As readers, we've been thrown into the middle of this relationship and this tragedy, and we don't even fully know the characters yet, but that's perfectly okay - because the way you write allows character development to unfold in a natural way. We're learning about Donny and Rena and Louis through the experience. The emotions, the dialogue, the scenes all feel very genuine. Excellent job, tim.

An Open Letter to tim and friends

Mike, I'm glad you figured it out sooner than later. Enjoy the reunion with your boy. -
Interesting how perspective can so abruptly change in the blink of an eye.

I got news for you: you're in control of your own compass. Point yourself in the direction you want to go. Love you, tim.

Thank you, BH. I wasn't trying to convince you to read it, I was just throwing it out there since you mentioned a D/s handbook. This isn't a handbook, of course - just some insight from my perspective. If you can glean something from it, great. Thanks again! - Mac

True, you are close to it, but I still like hearing your feedback, boy. I'm glad you were curious enough to jump onto GA to read it. you can offer input where you see fit.

Mirrors are deceiving and inaccurate. They reflect only what we expect to see, not who we truly are. your "nothing" is a hell of a lot of something that's brilliant and good.
-
Hmm. Do I like that answer? No.
-
Hopefully you don't believe those words, moggy. Not anymore.

I'd only read a few bits and pieces of this story prior to you posting it, therefore not knowing the whole story arc or much about the characters other than the snippets I read. Being able to read from the beginning now was so well worth the wait, tim. you successfully (and brilliantly) pulled us all right in. Picked us up and plopped us onto the rock beside Louis. your ability to "tell" without really telling is fantastic. We got a backstory without the drudgery of every detail - just enough information to fill in the gaps. I appreciate writing like that, and you've done a great job. This is a tragedy that I have a feeling will be turned into something deep and impacting.

That's all anyone needs: love and understanding. It works both ways. Being receptive to the guidance is rewarded. you are surrounded by those who care and offer it, jp.
