It’s great to see a new story from you. 🎁 Jubal’s string of bad luck may hopefully be coming to an end; being bushwhacked (and the ensuing lump on the back of his skull) and losing his horse brings him to just about as bare bones as one could be back then….I’m sorry he had to shoot Kema, they seemed to have had a very special bond. Lucas coming to his aid is a godsend; where Jubal questions his gut, Lucas trusts his own & that appears to be to both their benefit. Jubal will have to curb the ogling his “dangerous stirrings” have caused, might have to go into town for more than supplies, at least until he knows the lay of Lucas’ land, if you will. I wondered if they’d be going to Larkspur, lol!! There are more places a man can call home to be sure but you’ve presented Larkspur in such a way it’s my ideal version of Old West heaven. 😊 It will be very intriguing to see Jubal and Lucas both capture and tame the wildings….roping and breaking a horse can’t be for the faint of heart, that the two of them are experienced in this skill speaks to their patience and persistence-of course there’s a right way to do something and a wrong way to do something….something tells me these two will do it the right way. Hence why I said “albeit unintentionally”. I know Kyan is a good guy, they all are. Max brought Kyan out of the widower burka the school mothers kept him in for three years….granted his interest might have been superficial at first but Max seamlessly slipped into good friend mode when he realized Kyan was straight (or so he thought, lol). Kyan needed a non family friend & lucked out in Max; remediation of some type on Kyan’s part is due, even if Max may understand. I’m looking forward to that.

He damn sure should!!!! Kyan owes Max big time for setting him up to knock him down, albeit unintentionally; Max is too good for that.

I was disappointed Kyan cock blocked Max and Perry, looked like some kind of make out sessh happened earlier between them that Max thought was foreplay; Max wound up going home with blue balls and a blue heart. Kyan’s got some growing up to do methinks and not just sexually, I don’t believe he’s ready for what he’s asking for.

Their whole family is amazing….Trudy & Jed are great grandparents (not great -grandparents, lol) and Charlie’s a great cousin.

What a gift of a friend he is. 🎁💝 I said it last chapter & maybe I’ll say it again after this but if Max doesn’t find his Perry-less love in this story, he deserves one of his own. “Perry was his best friend. But was he Perry’s best friend? Maybe Max was on to something.” When you’re in love with someone, it’s never just being best friends (if you’re lucky enough to have that in your relationship) This chapter felt short to me but that’s okay because it’s a great set up for the next chapter.

Chiiiiiillllle, it damn sure ain't Kyan now, lol!! Maybe part of the evolution will show Kyan pushing up on Perry? It may have to be him, because Perry has had three years since Dayna's death and he's moving like a glacier before global warming.

I think Dayna knew Perry had some interest and decided to nip it in the bud....makes you wonder how things really were between Dayna & Perry; I mean there was obvious love there but clearly some other kind of undercurrent, too. 🫢 In chapter 1, it stated the attraction between Kyan and Dayna was immediate, yet it seems Dayna was the one who made the first move, she seemed aggressive in going after what she wanted, more alpha energy to Kyan's beta energy.

I did not. Very good catch. ✨ 💡 It kind of supports the belief I have that Perry might have thought Kyan was asking those questions for himself & not to set him up. Perry knows Kyan better than Kyan knows Perry, so I think he gets how clueless he is on some things but Perry's been jonesing for a loooong time.

So Kyan really has no clue if he’s going to try to get Max and Perry together. It’s sad that Perry is lonely & kinda brave of him to admit that to Kyan; I’m glad Perry dated since Jerrod and superficial or not, I’m glad he curbed “base desires” in between and since. I still wonder if his family knows about his feelings for Kyan. Perry’s house and his break up with Jerrod over the family he obviously wants has me thinking in spite of really bleak odds, he held/holds out hope for a life with Kyan and is playing a long game. I look forward to new developments….
