    Chapter 34

Yes, that is sad how people operate. How small towns can really turn on someone that is different... I've seen it happen a couple of times, like one time a Gay military play came to town, 2 people watched it, 120+ petitioned and picketed the tiny theater where it was held... how those military actors must have felt, I couldn't imagine... Definitely a similar town dynamic going on here. I'm glad Corey's Dad stepped in and called their bluff though, hopefully it will be enough...

    Chapter 34

Yes, I think the heart to heart really made Lee see that his son really didn't know if he loved him or not, a few chapters ago. That can and should be an eye opener for any parent... if they have to ask, you've failed them. As for the petition, small towns, which I know a lot about. It doesn't matter that Corey can't play, they are more concerned about image. Bill and the rest don't want him affiliated with the program anymore, at all. They want him to be a spectator, so other towns/teams/onlookers won't have a reason to link Corey with the rest of the Team. That's why the petition came about. Of course the Petition is just a scare tactic. And Lee didn't take the bait. So, Lee did pretty much all he could do.. and sacrifice himself, someone they still liked and wanted. If he didn't, I doubt we'd like Lee much at all.. and all his changing would be for nothing... Anyway, thanks for reading and leaving a review! I'm glad you've stuck with the story so far.
  3. SIS 34 I heard loud footsteps coming down the narrow hallway, something must have woke me, but I didn’t know what. Knowing the loudness of his footsteps, I wasn’t surprised to see Dad shove past my bedroom door. He opened his mouth to tell me to wake up, but seeing me he closed his mouth and waited for me to sit up. “Take a shower,” Dad said as I rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes. I glanced at the clock on my nightstand and saw that it was only a little past noon. I knew Dad wouldn’
  4. I wouldn't begin to guess what sort of Gay/Genre you're interested in, but I can say that there is pretty much something for everyone to find to read. So all I can say to you is to start your searching, and welcome - of course.
  5. Catwoman - as it was mentioned. My lord. She wanted a Sequel for THAT. It was terrible. Halley Berry just isn't supposed to play a comic book character, she's too wooden. The best thing I saw her in was a Slave/Post Civil War era mini-series based on a book series that played on television. She was really good in that. Mortal Instruments - City of Bones - Book to Film 1. The Movie was poorly directed, written, and budgeted to be honest. They wasted a lot of the film's budget on two fight scenes that 1. Never happened in the book, 2. Was just useless. Instead of diving into the characters - which is what Clare is really known for... they just made them all cookie cutter. I mean honestly, they had this scene where the main character used a rune that froze the "bad guys" and instead of slashing them to pieces they limbo around them and end up not getting out of the room before the rune wore off.. So it made little sense what so ever. They messed up the ending, again, went completely against the end of the book and honestly a lot of the beginning of the second... and I think they missed the mark on casting, definitely directing, and screen writing. It was like an example on how to piss off the book fanbase 101. They did everything. Any Disney Classic Sequel. Ariel 2, Cinderella 2 and 3, Mulan 2... etc. All made low-budget for Television/Nostalgic collection, but still they all suck, but as long as they can make a tiny bit of profit, I guess it is all worth it. A shit ton of the LGBT films out there are trash. Bewitched Remake - The Will Ferrell/Nicole Kidman On the same note, The Stepford Wives (2004) - Nicole Kidman remake. Were they robots or brainwashed? Some were robots.. some were brainwashed?
  6. Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great one.
  7. And ick. I didn't read the novels, so I'm not going to watch these movies either. I saw "Bella" and "Edward" in their interactions, which is to be expected. Even if she sort of made the fanfiction a separate piece to be able to market it without legal repercussions. The development of those characters probably were the most maintained from Twilight - to the fanfic - to the published novel - and lastly to the film. I say both actors were given the first Twilight film and were told to study mannerisms and expressions, because a big marketing tool for them and this film IS the fact that it was once a Twilight fanfiction...

  10. Happy Birthday Mann! (For the life of me I thought I already wished you a happy birthday in here, apparently not)..

    Chapter 33

Yeah, it was awkward to write. I think I did another first person sex scene in my early works as well, where the character bottomed, but it was back when I read Nifty and likely knew.. now I've forgotten.. lol. I think one editor even snickered and told me that he didn't "prepare" himself properly, so it would likely be a painful first time.. So. Corey took it like a champ, I say. As for the parents, yes, I think that comes with any marriage, I know my husband knows how to calm me and set me off.. lol. Although sometimes he misreads it and I make him go clean the car out or something. But she is definitely the calm one and knows how to reign Lee in... for the most part. HE hates not getting his way on punishments though. And Cj is still recovering from the beat down... as far as we know. I mean he dealt a big blow already, so I'd hate to see how he could top that... Like always Lisa, thanks for reading and leaving a review!

    Chapter 33

Aw. Yes, I took a number of breaks throughout. I think it shows that my writing skill has developed slightly and that the earlier chapters were rough, they were for the most part unedited.. So it turned into a longer and larger project than I would have wanted, but for now it is what it is. I've enjoyed the latter 20 chapters though. Lee is a reasonable and educated man. He can work through things in his head, he just doesn't really like to be emotional so he masks it with anger... but he's working on that. I think nearly losing a son and wife after losing a home opened is eyes, that things worth fighting for.. can leave... and the apartment represents what it would be like. Anyway, thanks for reading! I liked reading your comments as you read the chapters. I'm glad you're also caught up and stuck with the story.

    Chapter 33

Lol. Yeah, they are overcautious. I think, since they've not had much of a reaction, they are worried that one is looming. As for the back of the truck scenario.. my lord NEVER again.. lol. That was awkward... you have no idea.. I think I shuddered and grimaced a lot writing it.. lol. I don't blush easy either.. but heh. No. No more first-person character bottoming for me.. unless it is hetero and I know what the hell I'm doing.. hahaha.

    Chapter 33

As open as she is, I don't think she is asking because she wants a place for them to go and have sex. Just somewhere where she knows where he is, instead of wondering where he is and what he is doing.. and who he may encounter. Right now, I think they are worried about the reaction, they've not had much insight on that yet. Over cautious is what I'd call them now. Either they will get over that.. or something will give them reason to continue.. I think. Have faith in me though, I doubt I'll go too dark on that, this is a romance after all. BUT of course you never know..

I wondered where you got to Benji! Glad your back. Get your computer fixed. Yeah, the father/son dynamic has switched gears a little bit.

    Chapter 23

Aww, you're at the angst part of the story. This story does have some plot and character issues, since I took long hiatuses on it and wasn't writing much. The idea I want to project is that Corey's mother took over the store when her father died, which in the story was a long time ago... a few years after Corey was born. She gave up her part time job at the hospital and her full time job as a pre-school/kindergarten teacher to do that. I'm not sure what age. Corey's father is controlling, if he wasn't working he'd have him doing yard work or exercising, watching game tapes, practicing outside with him, etc. And over time people who 'don't' get out and party, usually don't want to because the people around them in small towns, that have, tend to naturally exclude them in social events. So he'd probably stop getting calls/invited not long after. In later chapters from where you are now, I think Corey remembers more of his early childhood better. As for Greg - Greg probably never should have happened to the story, but he did. This story is actually an idea I had written ages ago in early High School, with a female protagonist - with a Lee/Corey's Father type character never wanting a Daughter and never having anymore children treated her sort of hard. She has a best friend Andy, that likes her, but she doesn't see it. She finds herself attracted to what would be the Greg character and he ends up manipulating her, where as I made Greg innocent just unsure of what he wanted. I nearly turned the story into a love triangle with Greg, but decided against it again. So Greg keeps striking out, in the story, and with me.

Aww. I'm glad you're reading and reviewing! I'll go through them and try to remember all the questions and answer them in your last review. Thanks for reviewing the chapters! I like to see the comments as readers reading.
  18. SIS 33 After dinner I went to my room and waited for Mom and Dad to come down the hall. Mom peeked into my room to make sure that the lights were off and I was in bed. Straining I heard her soft footsteps walk the short distance down the hall to their room. Knowing I had some time to kill before they settled in I opened my eyes and thought about what I was about to do. Looking around my room I realized I wasn’t at all used to sleeping here still. There was a light streaming in through my wi

  21. I don't like all the criticism he's received from the gay community. People should come out when they are good and ready. We should want people to be happy with themselves. Giving them hell for "waiting so long" and "denying it so many times," just is an asshat move so shame on those people. The lives of others shouldn't be dictated by outsiders/outside commentary on their lives.
  22. Although you are disappointed now, what you learned about yourself through the experience is invaluable. Something you may not have ever learned unless you tried.
  23. Happy Birthday!

    Chapter 32

Hi Lisa. Yeah, although a nice moment. It will be a relief not having to write 'Trouble' into the story any longer. lol. Fathers have to suck it up and do their duties, so I'm thinking that Lee is doing that, in his own way. They'll never be the "hug it out" kind of father and son, but at least they're not pushing or shoving one another at the moment either. You will find out why he stepped outside..

    Chapter 32

Thanks! My irony is hardly ever intentional, but it's nice when I luck into that.. maybe it's good character development/story development. Either way, I'll take it. I think Lee/Dad was mostly thinking, "as long as Corey is in football and I push girls at him," he'll phase out of being Gay and that the rest of it will fall into place. When that didn't happen, he had to adjust.. and he's trying to, but he's still who he is. He dang near lost his wife and family over it just a few chapters ago... if that doesn't make a person re-evaluate their thinking, nothing will.. or they are completely selfish. Anyway, yes, Lee/Dad to his credit does have other fears. Them being real or empty is the question now, yes? But this is also a romance story.. and hell I think the guys need a bit of that for a change too.
