  1. I don't really care that Vandy, Ky, and Ole Miss have slumped and are at the bottom of the SEC. Those dominating teams at the top are there because they are better.. and they are always in the top of the over all rankings because they are better than the rest of the nation.
  2. Alabama played #5 Michigan on a neutral field (41 - 14). Florida is playing at #10 Florida State this weekend. South Carolina is playing at #11 Clemson this weekend. Oregon's out of conference games were: Arkansas State, Fresno State, and Tennessee Tech - not really much of a competition for the team, but they all scored over a touchdown on them, Arkansas State putting up 34 points. 34 points would be enough to win in most football games. Notre Dame was the top opponent for Stanford and they lost. Notre Dame plays practically the same schedule every year as an independent. Southern Cal played Hawaii and Syracuse earlier this season and will play and likely LOSE to Notre Dame, who again plays them every single year, so it's not a surprise. And you talk about the SEC being top heavy, well look at the Pac 12, their top teams have MORE losses than the top teams in the SEC and the last place teams are: 1 - 10, 2 - 9, 3 - 9, 4 - 7. So you cannot justify your argument about the SEC being top heavy when a lot of the conferences are shaping up the same way. There are 9 teams bowl eligible in the SEC right now - could be 10 if Ole Miss beats Mississippi State (which I don't think will happen). Big 12 has 7 Pac 12: has 8 Big 10: has 6 since Ohio State is banned from the bowl season. ACC: has 7 Big East: has 4. The PAC 12 has made a lot of improvement, but stacked against one another the SEC is still better and if there were more teams to play one another people could see that. There are reasons why the SEC and the PAC 12 don't see a lot of action within the two conferences though. First, the BCS BOWL system. They are set up that the top teams from the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, ACC, and PAC 12 all get a share of the larger bowls, but only to the top teams. You will see most of these top tier teams avoid one another so they can keep those big money making games intact, because there is a fat pay check for both teams that play in them. That same thought applies to the Championship Bowl Game - which could be any of those top bowl games depending on who the number 1 and 2 teams are. It is a system that a two or three loss team has no chance at the Championship with. I actually hate it. If that ever changed then you will see these teams all branch out and play one another more often, but they won't. It just isn't intelligent to do so for any of the major bowl conferences to schedule more than two games like that. (Although for some dumb reason UCLA did this year). There is just too much risk and too little reward. Also these football teams travel 120+ people to every game. The funding may only cover one or two of those games and I bet most of them would like that funding to go towards one of the top BCS Bowl games instead of an out of conference regular season game.
  3. Happy Birthday Mikie! Have a good one!
  4. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great one.
  5. A lot of teams play out of conference games late in the season. Florida has Florida State for their last game of the regular season almost every year. Alabama's loss was to the power house likely Big 12 champion if they had stayed - Texas A&M. Florida lost to No. 7 LSU. Georgia lost to #6 South Carolina. They play one another all conference. What happened to Oregon's high powered offense when they finally came up against a team that could play defense? The SEC is all about DEFENSE... Oregon wouldn't have a chance. They ARE the class of the Pac 12. Kansas State might as well not have even been in the building during the first half of their game against Baylor. In the BCS system - which I'm not a real fan - it is ok to lose early.. to fall late in the season is worse. The SEC still has the best conference in football - that will likely stay.
  6. Calgary Colts would have sounded better.. Stampeders doesn't have a nice ring to it.. I hope you can celebrate though Nadian.
  7. I think he looks like a male version of Emma Watson. Not my type.
  8. Why does this scrawny assed little thing keep popping up here on GA? I really don't care that he's chasing beautiful women that are over a foot taller than he is..
  9. Happy Birthday!!
  10. Aww.. I like remembering my youth, I miss the 90s, it was a good time to grow up, I think. lol. Although, I do hate AOL, I never hid in the clothing racks. I didn't watch a lot of Television, least of all Nickelodeon, Boy Meets World, and I believe All That. I never was a game show fan either. I had most of the toys. I hate sugary chewing gum so I never had the powder gum or the Skittles gum, can't remember that skittles ever had gum. I remember collecting a lot of those Spoons from the cereal boxes and I won the balance bird at a carnival.. lol, it amazed me for like five minutes. I think I still have it in my "memories" box that is in the bottom of my closet. HI-C and the Berry Sprite are the only drinks I tried from all of those. I hate Oreos, so I never had the cereal. I hate Doritos, so I never tried the 3D, they look disgusting. I had the Witch Halloween bucket! And I remember that sad part from Dumbo, but overall the movie sucked... but I hated that he was separated from his Mommy.. I was addicted to Land Before Time though. Sophie was scared when I showed it to her the first few times, but now she likes it. Those rubber poppy things were big in school when I was little, I believe the teachers had to take one from someone at least once or twice a week. Overall I do miss my childhood.. Some of that junk seems really silly now.. and I wondered how it ever took hold, but I'm not really sad that some of it is long gone. Some things I do think needed to be on there though: Those ugly Friendship bracelets that looked like funky shoe strings tied in a knot around the wrist. Those Pop Rock candies, I believe they were taken off the market because of a choking hazard though, but they were big at the time.
  11. The only reason I watch pro-football is Aaron "Bedroom eyes" Rogers. Now on to College: #1 Kansas State - Lost to Baylor *Unranked* #2 Oregon - Lost to 13* Ranked Stanford I believe the loss takes Kansas State out of the BCS Championship game since they no longer have a Big 12 Championship game. It knocks Oregon out of the running to play for the PAC 12 Championship and possible the Rose Bowl if Stanford beats UCLA next week. So I believe neither team will be in the running for the BCS Championship game. In the SEC, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida all improve to 10 - 1 and since the SEC has a championship game, I believe the winner out of the SEC will be jumped to No. 2 and will likely play Notre Dame (IF Notre Dame doesn't lose to Southern California, their last game). All of this makes me wish for a Play Off game. I hate one loss.. close or a blow out determines whether one team is picked over the other. There is no doubt though that the SEC is the best Football Conference in the nation though.
  12. I found out there was a lockout like.. last week.. lol. There has absolutely been no coverage over it. There's not a pro team in Kentucky, and I've never really liked the sport, but I hate that true Hockey fans are missing out... I'd likely like the sport better than the NBA...
  13. Happy Birthday Nephy! Have a great one!
  14. We'd all like to be romantics.. right? But it doesn't happen... There could be an extreme attraction.. something there. Something you wish to grow on. But Love at first sight, just doesn't happen. Love takes time and it isn't spontaneous. Attraction may not even be the starting point. People can fall in love with people they aren't initially attracted to as well. Love though just happens with time and love needs to be a mutual feeling for it to be real. So it takes two people for love... otherwise it's just a crush/infatuation.
  15. Happppy Birthday Bee Bitch.
  16. Happy Birthday Pipsqueak!
  17. At least a NL team won. Too bad it was the team that put Cincy out.
  18. Let's goooo National League..
  19. I always say I'm going to do it.. but I never do.. lol. My lack of motivation to really buckle down and do some writing would suffer through the entire month of November... and it would likely take months for me to write another word afterwards... So for once, I'm going to say that I'm not going to do it.. and we'll see how that goes.
  20. Not that I'm interested after my beloved Reds got ran out of their home field by the Giants.... what is the outcome of the Giants/Cards series? I honestly haven't watched any baseball since the reds hit the shitter... I don't know who I want to win.. I despise the Giants this year... but I'll probably always despise the Cardinals... So Goooo Giants.. (My present to you Cardinal fans.. the Giants are doomed now)..
  21. Some of it is likely true homophobia, but there is still a good possibility that the locker room banter could just be for shits and giggles. Still it likely doesn't make gay people feel comfortable in the locker room hearing all of the negativity. Some of them probably would be blatantly against a gay teammate and would still say those things, but there has to be a flip-side to that as well. Some of them would likely stop saying it.. or at least make it known that it is for laughs and the like.
  22. I remember staying up all night reading a Dom story... then had to drag my ass to school (high school). I would have totally skipped, but it was during basketball season and if you didn't go to school you were benched.. lol.. I was deeeaaaddd tired though.
  23. I don't think the question was... sexually. People of any sexuality can look at people and determine which are more aesthetically pleasing. I believe the social norms have women trying harder to be more aesthetically pleasing. We shave our legs, our underarms, some of us shave our arms. We groom our eyebrows, we don't have to shave our faces. Most of us don't experience extreme balding. We wear make-up to hide our flaws and exaggerate our better features. We have made ourselves more aesthetically pleasing to people in general, because it was expected throughout history. We were supposed to be pieces of art for our husbands to enjoy and to show off to everyone else... Now.. not so much, but since women tend to have better grooming habits, we are still more aesthetically pleasing. So it's changing, men are grooming more, taking better care of their bodies, skin, and aren't afraid to do more to themselves. So I think the gap is changing.
  24. I've done it... Behave yourself and don't make it a habit.. You were reading my story.. so with my posting habits you could be graduated before I post a new chapter... hahaha.
  25. The method is a bit abrasive yes, but at least he is on our side of the fence.. and not the other... He's still a minority within the sport industry... most of them either advocate for gay rights or come out of the closet when they are old and have been out of the public eye for a really long time. He is doing this while he is at the top of his game, still young enough to be in the public eye out on the field still participating... it's a difference that I like.
