Unfortunately not tonight. Things have rolled downhill pretty fast. My heart feels crushed and I really wish I could talk to my mom.

It's the oversized shoes I have trouble with. My feet like my flip flops too much. Lol

Your father sounds like an amazing man. Love and acceptance for who we are is the best gift our parents can give us. You hit the jackpot. Thank you for sharing a glimpse of who your dad was. We need more positive influences nowadays. Take care of yourself and allow those who love you to hold you up when you need it. As someone wise recently told me: And make sure you stop sometimes and smell the roses. Take time for yourself. Take it from one who knows. You need to do that at least a little bit. Buy yourself some flowers, or order in one night to give yourself a break. You deserve and it's important. xo

Is that supposed to be spinach? I'll pass. Fresh spinach with some feta maybe. That stuff? Yeah. Um. Hard no.

    Chapter 1

kbois commented on Mikiesboy's story chapter in Chapter 1

It's good to see you posting again tim. At first, I could picture Adan in the same post-apocalyptic world as @Wayne Gray's Engineer Benson, just much later on in time. I'm left curious about what happened to the rest of the world. Dogs... y'all already know I'm a dog person. There's nothing like a set of soulful eyes silently letting you know that they know you better than anyone else and won't tell anyone your deepest secrets. I don't think people choose their dogs-- dogs choose us.

I'm hanging in there. Albeit by a thread, but still hanging. It's the best we can do at this point. Losing someone you love, no matter the circumstances is hard. Love and hugs to you both.

This one hits home more than anyone will ever know. Things came to a head yesterday and my son took his stuff and left. It was overdue, but it still feels like my heart has been ripped to shreds. My love for him is still there but I need to lock it away. It hurts too much. Thanks for posting these. They make me see things differently, and it helps.

    Time to Live

kbois commented on Mikiesboy's blog entry in Mikiesboy's Blog

So many struggles have touched so many lives the past few years. It's never easy watching a loved one approach the end of their journey. I'm happy for you. For taking charge of the positive outlook you are choosing. Be proud of yourself and all of your choices. Even the not-so-good ones. They're learning experiences. I'm looking forward to your story. It sounds promising. xoxo❤

Would it do any good? Lol. Happy Monday everyone. Even though mine started out with my son taking the coffee my husband made for me. At least the annoyance only lasted a few minutes... I guess that's progress. Also dodged a catastrophe. A truck hit a van in front of my house and the truck busted through the fence across the street. Looks like everyone is OK except for the fence. Glad it wasn't mine!

Welcome back. Yes, life does have a way of slinging crap at us for the sole purpose of tearing us down. Climbing back up is what makes us who we are. Sometimes it's a viscious cycle. But it's important to keep climbing. Writing can be such a cathartic balm. Battling demons with a pen (or rather keyboard nowadays) helps keep them at bay. It's good that you're writing again, especially if it touches someone who really needs it.

There's nothing quite like getting lost in a song and finding that head space to just let everything go. Very nice Wayne. (We'll just forget about the cat thing, eh?)

Jeezzz.... we can't be friends anymore.

Interesting turn of events. It was sort of inevitable that the guys would eventually come across another survivor. It's smart that Wayne and Mark have discussed how to handle the possibility of others joining them. Their resources are limited unless there's a Walmart supercenter or Costco within raiding distance. I love how you had Mark handle Wayne's insecurities. It was perfect. Both men have their vulnerabilities and being friends first allows them to support each other exactly as needed. On another note, it took me way too long to read this chapter. How many times can one person be interrupted when they're home alone with two dogs? Dumb mutts... can't go out at the same time, can they? Thanks Wayne.

So I totally forgot to look at blogs until today. Sue me. I miss Loe and Jay. They were fun to spend so much time with. A lot of time. Oh those last minute changes were a blast! Honestly though, this is a great story. Well worth a good binge session or two.
