@BendtedWreath grabbed his prompt with both hands and ran with it. The prompt wanted details.... you got them. This was very well written and invokes imagery with every paragraph. You can easily imagine yourself in Dalit's shoes as he deals with the end of a relationship and the reason behind it. Well worth reading. Kudos!

Well done Ben! Writing from a prompt isn't easy. You did an excellent job!

It'll be hot minute or two but one of these days I'll finish it.

It took a while for this little story to gel. I had the prompt a few days after the event posted. When did I write it? Two days before it was due. In my defense, I'm in the middle of moving, which I have to do twice because the place were going to won't be ready for a few weeks so we're somewhere else temporarily. Ugh... I hate being displaced. Between the two hurricanes, vacation, and moving, I've been shuffled around at least 6 or 7 times. I just want to be settled. As for what's next... I'm about 8 chapters into a mafia/mystery story. Hopefully once I get settled I can focus on it more. Glad you enjoyed this one! 😘

I thought dogs could take care of that issue themselves? 🤔

I really have no idea what is in store for these two. Coming up with a story idea from someone else's idea is harder than I thought. Whether or not these two show up again is up to them. Thanks for reading and congrats on being #1. 😂

Not sure how I missed this. Sorry about the ugly cry. I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

Having a loved one with dementia brings so many challenges. It sounds like your family has had more than it's fair share. I'm mostly ok. We got through both storms unscathed. Now I'm dealing with having to move because of a landlady who is the greediest bitch of of a landlord we've ever had. We're out of that place and have something else lined up but it won't be ready for a couple of weeks. So we're somewhere else temporarily.

No one could deny the view was incredible: Snow-capped mountains to the east and the endless expanse of the Pacific to the west. John Reynolds admired the vista before him and hoped his replacement would appreciate it. So many hours of his life had been spent accomplishing great things. He was going to miss it. A sharp rap of knuckles on the door jamb interrupted his rumination. Turning, he smiled as his cohort in life crossed the threshold. “Are you going to stare out the window all

PT Prompt #237 Your character has a unique way of celebrating special occasions. What is it and how did it start?
-
I totally get it. I've lived in the north. I've lived in the mid-atlantic and now I'm in the south. Frigid temperatures hit me harder now whenever I'm exposed to them. Not having a proper winter coat doesn't help either. On the flip side, I'm completely over the heat and humidity that swamps Florida for 4-6 months. Not to mention that dreaded "H" word. If I had to choose hot or cold, I'd choose cold. You can add more layers but there's only so much you can take off. 🤭 Have a good day everyone!

Document. Document. Document. Write down specifics anytime she pulls that s#!+. That way you will have ammunition when you and your other co-workers go to your manager. It won't be a he said/she said situation if you have details. Good luck!

I'm sorry you got bad news about your kidneys. You'll figure the food stuff out out. A consult with a dietician is a step in the right direction. Giant hug coming your way. (@MichaelS36 please deliver the hug for me, thanks!)

My best friend ironed her hand when we were in high school from the side of her thumb all the way to her pinky on the top of her hand. Burns are super painful. I hope the rest of the week goes better for you. (It's always the weinerdogs causing the trouble. Good luck trying to pawn those critters off on anyone)

Honestly, I'm kinda tired of heat and humidity. We've been lucky since the last you-know-what-named-storm. (I'm not allowing any of my staff to use the "H" word under dire threat of termination lol). It's been warm but not humid. The next few days are going to be relatively cool for Florida. I miss being able to wear flip flops all the time. My battle with tenosynovitis in my ankle is almost over, but I do have to wear sneakers with an arch support when I'm working. At home though, the flip flops rule! I spent 10 days up in Mass in October and enjoyed the cool weather. It was peak foliage colors which I hadn't seen in 15 years. I loved it. My goal is to leave Florida behind in 3-4 years. I want to be closer to my older son. My DIL just started her doctorate program and wants to teach at the collegiate level. Once she graduates and gets a job, then I'll be moving closer to them, especially once they start having kids. There's nothing holding me to this state anymore now that my parents are gone. I'm looking forward to one day corrupting grandkids and getting them all riled up before handing them back to their parents. Lol! Have a good day everyone!

Sorry... at the one and only hockey game I ever went to I made the mistake of asking why everyone was leaving before the fourth quarter.

You've got a good handle on the basic building blocks of story writing. I don't think even the most seasoned writers out there ever have all their ducks in a row. Some writers are "chaotic at best" letting the chips fall wherever they may as they hope to tie up as many loose ends as they can in the end 🙋♀️ Yup... that's me 😆 I'm looking forward to you posting your first story here and joining the rest of us who are plugging away at creativity.

Eyes watering, tears, laughter, drool, skunk spray recipe, squeezing heart..... ...... mission accomplished 😈 Thanks for reading and for your observations! This one did hit home pretty hard.
