    Ok, I admit that I left the last part because I was lost in all of the (highly amusing) “battles” in the comments. I’ve now reread the complete story and agree with others that this story is a triumph for mrs G/Gnomie. I was pretty uncomfortable with the setting but, as in other ways, I had to park my preconceptions and read open to new points of view. so, to the story ….. read it!! It’s rather good (British understatement..). this is a great addition to GA. THANK YOU 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

    As an aged historian I totally agree. The depth of research is amazing. What we actually read is the tip of an iceberg. Such a professional operation.

    Mark, I’m not sure how it felt after writing the words “Final Chapter”; it has been an epic journey for both hero and writer. I am sure, however, of what the reviews will be like once the status is changed to “completed”. But ‘til then, many, many congratulations on a most marvellous trip that has been developing all the time since before and after I joined GA. Bravo 🎉

    I have just read this after being redirected from a new comment. But I am grateful to read Mrs G and kbois reactions because sometimes with the huge “fan comments” that they get we almost lose sight of the story behind the “crac” which follows. I’m waiting for some peace and quiet to finish mrs G’s latest, and I apologise for the absence of my stunningly insightful comments! They will be back. Meanwhile happy Halloween and let’s bring back human sacrifices instead of trick or treat! Love you both enormously xxx
