  1. I had tried to doze but it was impossible; until I heard from Gerardo, sleep seemed to be an impossible idea. In the end, I got off the sofa, made another pot of coffee, and sat staring at the list of names: one was a traitor, but who? Grabbing my notebook, I copied the names of those whom I knew in one way or another. The absence of Roger or rather his real name, Armand, was highly significant. It seemed that the mole did not know Roger’s real identity. Did this mean it was a newer member who w

Hi, Interesting statistics. I should have been clearer, I was referring to the character giving the young innocent drugs, not taking an overall stance about references to referring to drugs in a story. Ismael is a well-drawn character, as usual with you! but he gives me the creeps. awaiting the next installment with anticipation high!

  4. Suggest for Special Awards: 1 Author who tells the most lies in the chat Not sure of a suitable prize. Perhaps copying “I shall not tell lies” 100 times without copy and paste or AI. 2 The reader who gets the lowest number correct. I’m in with a chance as I only got one right last year. Prize Read all stories by every author in the competition. Cant wait to start reading with my detective skills newly sharpened.
  5. Well guys I made it. Back in Uk. Lufthansa got its act together and we arrived in Frankfurt ahead of schedule giving me time to do a little retail therapy. Slight delay leaving and strong winds against us but 30 min late is ok. No queue at German control for leaving the EU zone but boy they don’t give you a friendly smile. Perhaps because they are out of World Cup and England (luckily) are scrapping through. And no rain forecast whilst I’m here.

  9. Gerardo left at nine after eating a bowl of leftovers. We didn’t talk much after deciding on the next step. The silence, however, was not uncomfortable; we were beginning to relax into the next stage of our budding relationship. Then, as he was about to leave, Gerardo warned me yet again about not using the telephone to contact Daniel or anyone else on the list, a copy of which he had left with me. For the moment it was still safe for him to ring me as he had access to the phone-tapping process.
  10. And just when you relax and forget to repaint furniture legs with Tabasco sauce or carefully hide all socks, underwear etc., they strike again.. v good as passengers in the car, though, so we are off with them in Sept to Uk and France.
  11. 48 hours to go until I see my sister in UK …that is unless Lufthansa messes me up again…
  12. The best wiener video I have seen, although Crusoe the Canadian wiener has amazing videos.

Ummmm, I fear a lawyer’s one-sided position. They are all at fault, as is Harvard for not giving them enough work to stop being a collection of drama queens. Sorry, I just hate this type of so-called sport…. Frankly, where is Jeremy to add a bit of masculinity?

These guys need some kind of reality check. I felt like screaming, ‘it’s just a game’, at them. Hard to like any of them, frankly. V clever writing, Mark.

  24. Thank you. Paco and I watched ‘Nuremberg’ the other night. It captured something of the horror, but there was a BBC film of the infamous meeting outside Berlin where the administrators did their worst- all the time checking that it was legal! No torture, no bodies or camps, just the sheer awfulness of servants of the state obeying instructions. Must find it again.
  25. Wow! Thank you so much @Summerabbacat! As I was writing I knew you would fall in love with her!
