  1. Another great chip which highlights the wonder when older siblings can relate as adults without being controlled by the past. V enjoyable and though-provoking
  2. My iPad has gone on strike 😱with a permanent black screen. I have to read a real book in bed 😱😱😱😱😱 looks like Im going shopping tomorrow and no Xmas presents for dogs or anyone but me!!
  3. @spyke 100% true. Just add chasing autumn/fall leaves out of control and you’ve got it!
  4. Beyond the call of (MIL) duty. To avoid SIL and other family duty here in Valencia, we ar e heading to Pyrenees for a week in a tiny village. Anything to avoid political arguments at Xmas eve dinner - moderate left v ultra right. Add alcohol and retreat to, yes, the Pyrenees….

    Chapter 5

    Yep!
  6. First dibs! Excellent chp. So there was no weird trust. Can’t wait to see Fellowes getting sorted. Perhaps Joaquin Rubio could do the honours… 🤞
  7. It certainly doesn’t snow on the east side thanks to the Gulf Stream. My parents had palm trees growing v well in their garden near the sea near Dublin. No frost either, but the humidity….. urgh

    Chapter 5

Had the pleasure of shaking hands with the construction worker once at a club in London….. those were the days
  9. “Tis a soft day” ummmmm I remember my Aunt in Tipperary commenting thus as the rain lashed against the window whilst inside the fire was lit in mid-August…….
  10. V true. I’m going to use what was available in the (censored) press and TV for characters’ knowledge. BTW, I so liked yr Kodama story.

    Chapter 5

The story is simmering along v nicely! But please, get Joe on that float!
  12. Thanks. I think you are right. I’m doing a storyboard and seeing how it goes. It’s about a love story in Spain as Franco and his regime are beginning to die. Lots of research needed to get historical details as authentic as possible.
  13. Same to you! Although it’s now getting dark here. I’ve started work on a new story. First longer one with multiple chapters. Let’s see how it goes….
  14. Great link, thanks. I remember seeing these cartoons at my grandparents as they took the Sunday Express. Gosh 50 years ago……

    A Queer Encounter

I don't know what has happened, @W_L, but your comment above has enabled me to get started on my first novella. The juices are flowing but not so creatively as to attract @Talo Segura's atention 😉
  18. I share Peter’s opinion. This was a great chp as the loose ends begin to get tied. V nicely done.

    Chapter 2

A really enjoyable tale. Good memories of my visits long ago to Sydney. 😊
  22. The analogy with chess challengers etc., brings the two themes of the story together really well. A good chp.

    Chapter 1

It was a pleasure to get a first read! The story is so clever as well as utterly beautiful. Last week we were in the mountains 100 miles NW of here. I have never seen such wonderful colours. The poplar trees had bright yellow leaves contrasting with the “boring” evergreens. Tossing armfuls of leaves in the air we got some amazing photos of our friends, especially one who won’t see another autumn but was the happiest of us all.
  24. Wow, I missed this dreadful news. I’m so sad for you guys. I hope that knowing your online friends are sending their love gives you both a good feeling to help. Poor you and poor Tim. mega hugs from Spain, Gary xxxx

    Merry Christmas

I totally agree. No apologies are necessary. When a chp arrives from you it is always a red letter day, so many thanks and, please, NO PRESSURE! un abrazote, Gary
