  1. Not everyone has your talent!
  2. Are you trying to give @Valkyrie and her elves a heart attack?!?!?!
  3. Holiday was WONDERFUL. The wiener dogs were well-behaved and it appears that the French love them. So many people stopped to greet them. Lilibeth was in heaven. now stormy. Schools closed tomorrow…. I might even get some writing done.🤞
  4. Only a few days ago we crossed and recrossed the enormously wide Rhône as it passed through Avignon. Holiday over: 5,000 km in a Peugeot 208 with Paco and the monsters, plus by the end 13 suitcases, rucksacks, and plastic bags and plastic bags and plastic bags. Now exhausted but ready for the severe weather which hits Valencia at 04.00. Went on to terrace. It’s 35° C, brilliant sunshine ahead…. And behind the clouds are gathering over the mountains…. Just seen Ryder Cup golf scores. No comment, of course, here……

Back from near Roses, in Catalunya and here is a chp from Mark! And what a drama. Brad is going to be really hit.

    Lord Byron

Tomorrow we hit N Spain coast with memories of Granger visiting Roses… he did well there in the past!
  8. A new word for me but v apt as this morning we were driving south on the “Autoroute de soleil” towards Avignon and could just hear the distant sound of thunder through the torrential rain. And now I know I have the relevant noun to show off with! Thank you, @Myr

    This time…… 😃

Totally agree, again! The merger of fiction with historical facts is stunning. It’s hard not to imagine that there was a Granger at the Battle of the Nile etc….

    Lord Byron

    Now that is a great possibility….. 🤞

After a week overlooking the entrance to the English Channel from the Atlantic and imagining Granger struggling in the awful gales that we had at Lizard Point, it was great to get our monthly update. Last chp was London politics now the beginning of the Christmas house party from heaven or hell, or a mixture of the two. a great chp, Mark. Thank you…
  14. I have to say that I really enjoy this feature.

    Merry Christmas

    Totally agree!

    Merry Christmas

This chp can be listed as one of the most dramatic of many dinners/evenings at Escorial. Wow, @Mark Arbour this just gets better and better. And again, I totally agree with @PrivateTim’s comments!
  17. Thank you, Mark. Greetings from a stormy Lizard Point where the Atlantic meets the English Channel. Easy to imagine Granger’s carpets being dampened!
  18. I fear to contradict a powerful attorney (and yes, we loved The Tunnel), but in various books Jack has expressed his dislike of Will’s antics, so much so that he reminds me of @PrivateTim! Eg, dinner after Will returns to Escorial after Travis’ plane blows up, Jack goes for him.
  19. Just read the @Inkognito prompt. Deliciously funny.
  20. A thousand words of stress…..ful, and I mean stress FULL, humour. Wonderful. Such a funny story. Well done!

  21. Drama from beginning to end…. And now Jack?!?!? A dream of a chapter. Greetings @Mark Arbour from near the Channel Tunnel. Thank goodness it didn’t exist in Granger’s time!
  22. What amazes me about our dear author is the remarkable consistency in the quality of the individual chps, let alone in the overall stories. And as for the quality of the language, I’m sure our friend @Summerabbacat would write @Robert Hugill a glowing testimonial! (And seconded by me!)
  23. Once went to dinner with a couple I scarcely knew in their “small” mansion. The wife, of rather generous Rubenesque proportions was addressed as “Dumbo” by one and all. I waited with baited breath for her to flap her ears and fly!
  24. Was going to post news but think I’m going to step back a bit from GA for a while. Love to you all xxxx
  25. Hi, I totally accept the above comments but the use of a colour font seems, at least to me, as something I instinctively don’t like. Although I am severely colour blind so the font might be green or purple for all I know. I would be interested in knowing why it was used, though….
