I suspect that @Sherye Story Reader is a demanding ….😰
  4. I totally agree. Not only for the great storytelling, which Mark also shows in the CAP series, but for the incidental historical details and research. This is a series which just gets better and better.

    Recovery

Managed to post this before the ship is out of range of cell service !!!!!! thank you Mark for the perfectly timed update. As Tina says, “Simply the best, …..”
  6. So, there is a reward for lying in bed on a Sunday morning having woken, as usually during the week at 05.30. THANK YOU! Glad the story premise is out and coherent. Intriguing stuff, @lawfulneutralmage!

    The King of DTRs

Ummmm. He will definitely have an opinion!!

I looked this am for same reasons…. Even though I think I have ever agreed with him once, his comments are sharp!
  9. You are cleverer than me. I should have looked!

    HMS Endymion

    That would be an honour!

@vinkarama, I think your comment really captures something - the word excitement. I think it is true for me of only a few stories and their authors which leave one desperate for the next chp. Mark is obviously one of, if not the, best writers here. and a memory of the wonderful Carlos H. He too had that gift of generating excitement. Thank you.
  12. Agree totally with @chris191070. I feared that we were heading into sci-fi but Mike’s analysis gives us a clue or two….perhaps!? Powerful writing, as usual, which hits the mark. Thank you!

I really am enjoying how @lawfulneutralmage is taking the time to respond in such detail. For me this adds another dimension to the pleasure I get reading this ace story. Thank you! 🙏

    The King of DTRs

Hugely enjoyable chp. Great to revisit Harlem, Jeremy is now in a much better place.. At times he almost seems human but time and a certain Mr A’s evil mind will tell…….

Would be happy doing all of this except for walking…. I would have driven there.
  17. I’m Plucking up courage to start a tale or two based on my dubious past. Perhaps the time I was being smuggled into a usaf nuclear bomber base near Oxford for the night, only for the Mps to stop the car…….
  18. I found the film revolting. The scene with oral sex and menstrual blood was repellant and, more importantly, perhaps, contradictory with what came before and after. Brideshead Revisited (TV) was a work of art, The talented Mr Ripley was an ace novel and v good film. Saltburn, actually, was boring, and having personally been a nobody at Oxford, faintly ridiculous in its premise. Perhaps I should have punctured Princess Diana’s brother’s bike ( if he had one….) in Magdalen’s bike shed. Pleeeseeeee

This was a really moving chp. Whilst half the length of the standard chp nowadays on GA, nevertheless the emotional pull of Robert’s chps is really striking. Another great read, thought provoking… My top three having lived there for four years as a student are: art, wine, ice cream 🍨

Nor I….. This tale is making me homesick. Fond memories of college evensong.
  21. Another, developing story by @Robert Hugill. These gentle, but perceptive, tales are a perfect weekend read.
  22. Well said!
  23. You’ve got my vote for a blog, @lawfulneutralmage!!!!
  24. With my school it was usually birds setting the alarm off at night. Fortunately, my seaside flat didn’t have phone coverage so even though I was the director I never got woken up by the alarm firm!
