You have been cruel and sadistic in your cliffhangers in the past, but there is NO way you are going to leave us with this as the ending with about five zillion loose threads! I don’t care if it says ‘Complete.’ Rushi got what she deserved (although I am sorry Neith was forced to do it, I am glad Kastan was not). Nisa did also, although I would have like to have seen her executed or branded and jailed for life. Obviously, that didn’t work. We need to find out how and who let her escape. Now we need to make certain that Jihan hasn’t been maimed for life. Did Safan survive his attack? How will the butcher be punished? So many questions! I LOVED the Welcoming Rite for Adan. It was so beautiful! We have a new baby coming in our family any time now and his cousin’s christening coming up soon. That ceremony would be so beautiful for them. Now. Get back and get us the rest of the story!

I will always be able to play, just like I will always be able to play piano, but I am sorry to say I don’t take my instrument out very often. Hopefully, now that I am retired I can get back to it. ☺️🎻

My high school put on a musical each year. I was in the pit orchestra for Camelot, The Sound of Music and one more that I can’t remember. I played violin. It was hard work, but so much fun! I have many stories from those weeks working on those shows, including being buried to invisibility in a dry ice fog for a scene in Camelot to the great amusement of the audience each evening.

You made us wait, but it was well worth it! Wow! That was quite a twisted, convoluted mess of actions that were intertwining there. I found myself reading slowly and repeatedly so I could get everything firmly in my mind. I am guessing you have only one or, if we are lucky, two chapters to go. I am certainly looking forward to them. I may then reread the whole thing at once to get the whole story again. Thank you for a fantastic read!

‘Wobblily?’ I like that word! It’s much more evocative than simply ‘wobbly!’ Poor Mark. That is a messed up way to grow up, but he was able to get himself straightened out, whether it was with the Marines or in some other way. Whatever, his experiences made him the person he is today. It was unfortunate that it included an inability to stay monogamous with Eric, but Eric was able to see there was an unknown underlying reason for this and forgive him. Now that he was able to admit to all this to Eric and Mike, hopefully, their relationship will grow stronger. Maybe they’ll be able to get him any help he may need. Who knows, maybe he’ll find his own partner soon!

This was much more satisfying than the original 3 chapters alone. It completed the story . I have to join the rest of the commentators and say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, even as I got upset at the ‘educators’ who never deserved that name. I’m sure I am just one among many to look forward to your next story.

Welcome, Little Marie! You are going to be one spoiled little girl! 😆 Billy has to be careful working in his sport if he plans to participate in more Olympics. I’m not sure how strongly they still adhere to this rule anymore since they allowed professional basketball players on Olympic teams, but it used to be that the athlete couldn’t earn any kind of a ‘living’ from their sport. Sponsorships didn’t count. But if they were on a team, or participated in a contest with a monetary prize, it could have been enough to disqualify them.

We said before, if Adam and Marie have a little girl, she is going to have hundreds of “Big Brothers” looking out for her! Watch out when she gets old enough to start dating! I feel very sorry for anybody who shows the least interest in her!

Sounds like things are coming to a head. I would be highly suspicious of that malfunction. This is high security. There shouldn’t be any problems like that. It should have been triple checked before any installers even thought of leaving, and there should be redundancies built-in as failsafes. Where are those? This was a very short chapter, but very full of activity! Don’t be gone long! We are anxiously waiting to see what happens to Karla and to the security situation.

The new kids began to pick up the apples until one of the boys gave him a berry. Then forget the apples, it was berry picking time. While they picked the berries, or I should say while they ate the berries, Abe and I started to pick apples. Oh, yeah. I can see that happening! I can see them dropping the apples and running to the berry bushes to start picking them clean! 😆 Our niece was just telling us about taking her 1-year-old blueberry picking for the first time a couple of weeks ago. He loves his fruit, especially blueberries (he’s definitely Nana’s boy! 😉) and strawberries! She said there were more berries in his belly than in the bucket! 🫐

Sometimes you come in contact with someone who has it and doesn’t know it. That’s how I got sick a second time a few years ago (although, in my case, the person knew and came to work anyway. She thought it was funny. I didn’t. ) . It’s not easy. You can’t sleep laying down and you have no energy to do anything except sleep. Thank goodness for rocker recliners! The first time I had it, my lungs were so congested they actually thought I had contracted tuberculosis!

Alpha Taylor identified himself as such. If Johnny was the only one who wasn’t aware of the Lycan and Shifter communities, didn’t this kinda give that away? I agree with @astone2292. I have thoroughly enjoyed both of these stories and look forward to Book 3! Now on to the Epilogue!

Got it. I had the timing a bit off. I said it had been a long time since I had read the books, so I didn’t remember how short a time it was that the Old-Timers were getting bored (I use the term simply as a reference from Anne’s stories). That’s a good place to end, as the rest is all described in Dragonflight. I just wasn’t sure about S’brin. I did know it was still a very raw event for D’gan as he went forward in time. That was part of the reason he was reluctant to get involved with someone new, especially so quickly.

I was reading this chapter and trying to figure out how close they are to the Interval. In the previous books, you never really indicated exactly when S’brin had his accident, so we don’t know where we are in relation to that incident. We just know/assume it was before the end of the Pass. I don’t remember from the original books how long they were into the Interval when Lessa made her famous journey (it’s been a loooooooong time since I read those! ). It seems to me that it was at least a year or two—long enough for the enui to set in for the formerly highly active Weyrfolk. I’m beginning to get uptight reading these chapter because I know what’s coming. How far will you go toward Lessa’s visit?

Yep. We knew it. They’re kindred. Boy! Do they have a lot of surprises ahead of them, especially Adam! 🐻 Axel may say he is unwilling to be a papa, but he certainly stepped up without a thought when someone needed to. That screams ‘Papa’ real loud, Axel! I know werebears are protectors, but you stepped in first and quickly. You are fretting more about the dababbi and their recovery than any of the others. Maybe 8 is too many to take on at once, but you will most definitely be involved in everything that touches them from now on, even if they decide to never transition to bear. Keep in touch, Axel. We want to know how these guys are doing with their recovery. ❤️‍🩹

I think the portrait should go in the entrance hallway where everyone who comes in can see it. It needs a beautiful, regal frame.

I, also, thought it was too easily agreed to by the school board. There are several suspect members there. Jerry’s father is a massive idiot. Despite what the elder son did and why he lost his position, JERRY got in trouble? Talk about messed up priorities. And the older brother knew that would be the response. Jerry is much better off away from those losers. I hope they took them to court on child abandonment charges and forced the father to keep providing for him, including college!

OK, Ambassador, that was a cryptic comment. Now we all want/need to know who these boys are! Do they have political backgrounds or are their families commercial powerhouses like the industrial barons of the 19th century? Stay tuned for the next riveting chapter to find out!

I agree about Apollo and Susie. My eyes popped when I read that, too. I’m not as concerned about Gunner. He has a lot going on right now with dealing with the Council, their betas, Axel, Ezekiel, the dabbabi, etc. He isn’t ignoring Mike, but he is in a bad place right now. Mike is going to have to keep concentrating on him. Hopefully, someone will recognize what is going on and get him some assistance.

Well, that sure stirred up a hornet’s nest! I’m glad to see the Council taking the issue with the betas so seriously. They really did overstep. The video with Justin showed the Council just how arrogant they had become, especially when they determined that none of them had been informed of the danger Christopher posed to the shifter community. They’ll obviously lose their positions, but what will happen to them? As far as I understand, Beta is not just a position. It’s an ability, aptitude, demeanor and mentality. The fallout from this is that they will lose a lot of rank. Will they be ranked with the Omegas, at least for a while? I’m glad this story isn’t quite over yet. I had forgotten about this part of the situation, having become enmeshed in the Christopher portion. Now I want to see the Bears have representation so something like this doesn’t happen again. So, who should deal with the Council? Ezekiel would be the obvious choice for the sitting member, but I could also see Gunner, or even Axel, being tagged. Axel could be Beta to Ezekiel and Mike would be Gunner’s. Thomas could also serve as a beta. Gunner would also be an excellent beta to Ezekiel. There are quite a few factors to take into consideration. My choice would be: Ezekiel (Council), Gunner (beta), Axel (enforcer). In time, Gunner could come to Council andMike could be his beta. OK. Enough of my rambling thoughts. I have to go get shopping done!

How long have they been missing? The last couple have only been a few months, but the others could be years. It would be almost impossible for them to go back to their old lives. They would never be able to explain. They may have no other option but to stay in Atikokan or some other similar enclave.

I like the idea of Axel having replaced Christopher in the minds of the dabbabi, and he did it himself by telling them to feed his ‘children!’ I wonder if they would have obeyed him now if he had lived.
