I said Mom found fault with these groups. Maybe a better description would be that she found the holes in their arguments and was able to drive a tank through them!

I was thinking about this discussion while I was on a couple errands a little while ago. I remembered a time, many years ago, when the school district I was in had a speaker in to give a talk about expectations for student behavior. He actually had the nerve to tell us (nearly 2,000 teachers) that we could not expect black kids to sit still in class because they were not expected to do so in church. Even the teachers who attended the type of churches where people did that kind of thing screamed how ridiculous he was! I know. Off on a rabbit trail. It was just something I remembered and had to share. It was one of many stupid tricks the Admin pulled on us.

Thought so! As far as Mary Magdalen, the church was led by men who believed or had vested interests in keeping women under their thumbs. They couldn’t show that women could be smart or powerful. The ones they did allow were presented as exceptions to the norm. Although that is changing in general society, it is still the norm.

I was raised Baptist, but my parents broke with them after finding a number of, shall we say, inconsistencies within. It annoys me to no end that people automatically assume I mean Southern Baptist, because of all the coverage they have received over the years, and not for the better. I have to specify NOT Southern! My parents also had us study with several other groups, but since Mom was a minor Biblical scholar, she found fault with all. We think our house was actually on an unofficial skip list for Morman missionaries after she argued them into the ground repeatedly. 🤭 I just know that after a couple of years, we never had them stop, even when we saw them in the neighborhood. That’s one thing about the church I was raised in. There are classes and services and sermons to help you understand the Scripture, but your relationship with God is your own. It is YOUR decision for baptism, not as an infant, but as a consenting adult (usually around 13). Hmmm. Seems like I got on the trail of my own rabbit! I think I will end here. I really enjoy these discussions!

I like your discussion of the Book of Enoch and the theories of other civilizations/world/whatever you want to call it. I never understood, as a child, when hearing the story of Caen and Abel, why Caen had to be marked for his protection. Adam, Eve and their sons were supposed to be the first humans. Who was he supposed to be protected from? Animal attacks? Even the story versions written for children referred to other groups of people. Where did they come from? It never made sense to me and no one could give me a sensible answer. I have only heard about the Book of Enoch recently. However, what I have heard about it explains so much! It makes so much sense! It is not surprising to me that the ancient church omitted that Book from their version of the Bible. They had to maintain control, after all, and if the common people were made aware of these Watchers, the hierarchy of the church might have had less control. I would really like to learn more about this subject.

Have you been watching the History Channel? They’ve had several shows discussing the Book of Enoch on. Evidently, they found chapters in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

As soon as you started discussing finances and setting up the trust fund and how to pay it out to kids, my eyes crossed. This is exactly why we have a financial advisor, so we don’t have to deal with it ourselves, cuz when it comes to that stuff, I know NUTIN’!

You’re slow on the uptake. ☺️ I saw the arrows flying 10 chapters ago!

You missed the Nor’Easter last week! 12+ inches by us, 16+ just 15 miles to the north of us. Almost all of it is gone today because of the warmer weather and rains. Tomorrow 2+ inches of rain (20+ of snow equivocally) and winds up to 60 miles per hour! I am glad we’re staying home this year, just for that reason alone!

I kinda figured those were the people behind the suit. Go get them, Brad! Good luck on that many tickets, too! 😆 Merry Christmas, All! Have a Peaceful Day. 🎄🎅🏻🥰 If you are on the East Coast, take care with the storm. (We are expecting 2+ inches of rain in Southern New England tomorrow on top of 12 inches of melting snow. They are warning people of potential flooding, especially in basements. Glad we’re not going to our cousins’ house, like we normally do!)

The protesters could have resented Sanctuary coming into the area because they assumed it would attract dubious characters who would cause problems in the area. I’m not completely certain of the area, but I know that is a frequent complaint. You would think they would be happy to see the abandoned warehouse rehabbed and active. But some people, especially pious, religious bigots can never be satisfied because you do not agree with their view.

Ooh, what’s going to happen when they trace it to Revi and Lady Baisa? Not to mention that butcher! People are going to hurt bad when Kastan gets his hands on them!

Anne and Todd never described Thread deaths so horrifically. Fans of the series have become so accustomed to reading about it and, I think we have become jaded about what Thread can actually do. I sat here reading about this terrible accident and was completely unable to turn my eyes away from it. This was quite a chapter. Thank you. Now I have to go fill my dog’s water bowl, which is evidently empty because she is hollering and whimpering at me.

Devyn really is a born nurturer. He has the right idea if he wants to go into counseling as a career. He tried to protect Jason’s prized possession from his mother when she didn’t understand its importance, and now he wants to reach out to Blake, who is obviously hurting. His mom has a blind spot where he is concerned. She needs to wake up to the caring, wonderful son she actually has, werewolf or not. Yes, Devyn still has some maturing to do, but he is not as awful as his mother makes him out to be. This Doctor Marin seems (so far) to be a reasonable person. Hopefully, he will really be the person Devyn really needs in his corner.

I’m trying to decide whether Jake is rightfully concerned or too good to be true!

Sounds like a breakfast I could make on the weekend for brunch! Yum!

We were raised as Baptists (not Southern, please) and my parents stopped going when they heard and discovered some hypocritical things going on. You have to understand, too, my parents had been leaders with Youth Services and Mom was the Soloist for several years. So, they were very involved. Finding these things out hurt them deeply. This was in the 1960s. They kept my brother and me attending, because it was important to them that we have some kind of religious instruction. However, they stopped sending us when they started getting ‘messages’ sent back through us. We were less than 10 years old at the time and totally unaware and innocent of what was being said. Mom and Daddy were COMPLETELY aware. That led to several years of in-home instruction with various groups /missionary-types. However, when Mom was able to put them to shame using their own scriptures (which she knew better than they did!), that ended that. Don’t get me wrong. Religion is important to me. However, my experience has completely jaded me on the organized kind. I believe a person’s relationship with God has to be personal. There can be some general guidance from outside, but I don’t/won’t/can’t follow any single dogma.

Chapter 48 – A Time of Uncertainty
Clancy59 commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 48 – A Time of Uncertainty
What a scary time. This chapter brought back the fears and confusion of those first weeks all over again. I was reading with tears in my eyes and I could feel the anxiety all over, especially because of 20/20 hindsight. We also had a couple of babies born in May. It was very hard for family members to not be able to go be there. We are a very close family who share momentous events, and one of the new mothers had had a difficult time with her pregnancy. It was killing her mother to not be there to help her. The good news is that all are safe and healthy. -
Meetings and Confrontations

Can you tell me again why dragons don’t repudiate like Companions? PLEASE, let them repudiate. I know. They don’t. They completely accept their rider as is and don’t understand human foibles, but I can still wish for it! -
Chapter 44 – The Holiday Comes to an End
Clancy59 commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 44 – The Holiday Comes to an End
Yes. Bells have long been used to call people for various reasons. They certainly get peoples’ attention! When I started teaching in the system I retired from (31 years later), I had recess duty on an extremely large playground/parking lot. No matter how loud you called the kids in, not all of them would hear you if they were at the far reaches. I was out nose-shopping one day and found a brass bell. I got it and used it at the school. The kids came running without even being instructed! When I went to another building, I kept the bell on my desk and jingled it slightly (it was REALLY loud) to get the class’ attention. Worked like a charm every time. It actually became an honor to ring it to get the class to sit down and the kids would ask/beg me for the chance to be the bell ringer for the day! 😄 -
Chapter 44 – The Holiday Comes to an End
Clancy59 commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 44 – The Holiday Comes to an End
When I was a kid, my Mom found an old-fashioned dinner bell with a stand with a dinner prayer on it at the local Coast-to-Coast Hardware (this was before Ace Hardware). She got it because she thought it was unique. Well, it really came in handy over the years. Not only did we use it to call people to the dinner table, we used it to call people in from the outside. (This came in handy when we needed to call her in as she was hearing-impaired and would not necessarily hear us calling her, but she heard the bell!) Eventually, it was used to call us home from wherever we were in the neighborhood. We could hear it over 1/2 a mile away! We never questioned it, but came running when we heard it. Even the dogs knew what the bell meant! Everyone in the neighborhood knew about the bell and got a kick out of how we used it and responded to it. I now have the bell. Sounds like the Curries might need a bell of their own with the size of the group and, seeing as they are old enough to independent, how they could be anywhere. -
Well, now we know where F’nor got the idea to allow Canth to go after a Queen when he falls for her rider,

At first, I thought that Po could see Toby, but not hear him. But in the end, you indicated he can’t see him, either. However, he knows Toby exists and is around. Wow! And he never questioned it! Something tells me he’s had experiences in the past. Was he on a Ghost Hunters team? Great chapter. Now, I am curious about Po. Is he FBI? He said he isn’t police. Is he Interpol? Is he with a private agency? Looking forward to finding out more. Also curious about Leather Gloves. Hmmmmm. 🤔

It shows Hunter’s character when he dropped everything to go to his mother’s aid when she needed it. That is the real meaning of family—being there for the people who need you when they need you. Let’s hope the coach has some ideas how to handle this.
