Can’t. It’s a lifelong, almost symbiotic, relationship. The only thing that breaks it is death. That’s why I asked if Anne had allowed for a dragon to repudiate its rider.

I love road trips, but you’re right. They are tiring, even though you just sit. I get wanderlust every Spring and it didn’t get relieved this year. 😓 Maybe a couple of day trips to see the foliage are in store. Hmmmmmmm...

Epilogue - Chapter 10-Final Chapter
Clancy59 commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in Epilogue - Chapter 10-Final Chapter
On the other hand, what better place to keep an eye on things than from in the middle? -
Didn’t I say in the last chapter that this seemed like the same storyline with changes!? I AM VINDICATED! HA! 🤩 I am looking forward to seeing where you go from here. I’m glad you post quickly!😉

If a teacher hears something like this, we are obligated to report it to the authorities. It’s a law almost everywhere.
-
LOL! How many 9-year-olds have you dealt with? I taught for 31 years as a Librarian. I didn’t have 25 kids per year. I averaged over 750. Believe me. Kids do incredible things! They are, at the same time, incredibly brilliant and incredibly silly/careless/‘dumb’ and can do the strangest things at the most inexplicable times, leaving you scratching your head! 😂🤣😂

He’s nine. Not the greatest thinker at that age. I said the TV program had my ‘suspicious’ lobe on high!
-
The dragons are all-loving and ‘innocent.’ They fully believe in their riders. They don’t understand the rivalries to which humans are susceptible. Too bad, really. As I mentioned earlier, if they repudiated, like the Companions, it would prevent many of the problems like F’Drun.

I was thinking along the same lines. However, as an upstanding business-owner, he does have an advantage, hopefully. Fred, Billy and his friends will go to bat for hi,m, I’m sure. They have good cause to go after the father for abandonment. Although, I think another story has gotten my ‘suspicious switch’ turned on, and they’ll have to be certain that Bobby isn’t a runaway and pulling a fast one on Pete. (Sorry. My husband has been watching non-stop ‘Law and Order’ episodes and my mind is in conspiracy mode. 😉)

Wow. Are you sure you’re writing a new story? There are so many elements from the first one in here, I am honestly wondering if TJ isn’t still in the coma! Who could be coming in? JC and his family? I didn’t think he knew him in this version, from what was said earlier. We know it’s not Dylan and company because we know they are in jail. CC, Bob, Kellen and his brother (sorry, I pulled a mind blank on his name right now)? Maybe. (Glad CC is alive again!) Looking forward to Chapter 3!

I don’t think the reconnection with Rafe will affect the relationship with Lucas. It’s been 16 years. Rafe probably has his own family since he thought there was no chance with Greyson. Why would he pine away for him? He sounds more like he’s excited to reconnect, rather than mad or angry about the separation. My opinion is that this is a clearing of ghosts of the past (as much as possible), and then full steam ahead for Greyson and Lucas. The next question is where will they settle? One is in New York and the other is in Switzerland. Could Greyson become a foreign correspondent? What does Lucas do for a living (was it ever mentioned) and can it transfer to the US?

😲. I was definitely thinking of the Dallas connection. People were furious when that one happened. I think you are getting off fairly easy here. You have a LOT of explaining to do!

She’s just a strong woman! C’mon! She’s Pern’s answer to Kamala Harris! (Would you believe I was actually looking at the autospell for ‘Pern’? LOL! )

I still think CC is alive. Think of the wording. They only said a body had been found. Nobody reported it positively ID’d. Tristan Sr. is also an interesting thought. I hadn’t known about that about Arlington. It would also explain how TJ is able to ‘talk’ with his dad. This story generates the greatest commentaries! I enjoy reading them as much as the story!

I am assuming Mount Sinai is based on a real hospital. Whether or not it has psychiatric facilities does not necessarily mean Emily would be admitted there. 😏
-
Is Mount Sinai a psychiatric facility or have access to one? I think Little Tristan arranged something that put Emily over the edge. As far as cliffies are concerned, why is anyone surprised? Almost every chapter ends with one! Just scream and wait for the next chapter. At least we’re not waiting for weeks on end, like with some authors. Thank you for posting so quickly! (Sometimes I hate autocorrect!)

Does anyone else feel like they are watching a Film Noir from the 40s while reading this? I know this is a modern story, but that’s how the pictures come up in my mind!

We need a rolling eye response emoji thingee. 🙄

Thanks. It’s been a while and I couldn’t remember her name. I do remember her trick of going Between to cause a miscarriage. Also, I remember Lessa’s trouble having Felessan and how it was commented that F’Lar was glad she had never ‘quickened’ again. It was the first time I had ever heard that term.

I only have 2 cousins and 3 nieces myself, but when I married my husband, I inherited a large number of nieces and nephews and cousins who call themselves nieces and nephews. To date, they number over 35!
-
In the original stories, Kylara was very jealous of Lessa and another Queen rider who’s name escapes me right now. She mated with F’Nor, Canth’s rider. However, Kylara knew she was slated to be Weyrwoman in Southern when they returned. She may have wanted to be Weyrwoman of Benden, but when when the Oldtimers came forward, she wanted Southern.

The original settlers discovered the benefits of the grubs through the secret experiments of one of the outliers. They eventually decided to move to the northern continent as it was easier for their small group of dragons and fire lizards to protect from the Thread in the rockier areas. Their plan was to let the grubs take hold in Southern and then repopulate it themselves. Unfortunately, knowledge of that was lost quickly, before they could implement their plan. According to their histories, Southern was abandoned because of the Thread and was a barren, sterile land. They were shocked when they rediscovered it centuries later.

Oh-ho! He’s not just going to be a push-over for the Alpha. No, Siree! He’s going to prove himself to be the equal partner this Pack needs for their Alpha, despite his status within said Pack. Maybe he’s an Alpha of the Timber Wolves. 🐺
