First, I have to tell you that I am really enjoying the story. However, I have a problem with this chapter. I even went back to the point when TJ got news of his mother’s illness and reread everything, thinking I had somehow missed a chapter. You have a giant leap between TJ arriving and getting the information about his mom, BHO, etc, and now we find out she was poisoned due to TJ’s intervention. Huh? When did all that take place? Could you please fill in the missing information somehow?

Sure! F’Drun will get back at D’Gan through H’Rek. What kind of dirt tricks are they planning? Kylara wants some payback, too, from Southern because she thinks he didn’t give her the attention she thinks she deserves. How long until she allows her dragon to attack another rising queen? It’s not soon enough!
-
Could you imagine Graham going on a tour of Eastern State? What/who would he see and speak with?!
-
Yay! They’re back! I’ve missed visiting with the Clan. It was a great chapter and Bella deserved that prank. 😉. Tracy will fit right in, as long as he keeps showing how much he loves her.

Yes. I remember there were a lot of misunderstandings between the current people (the Crafters, Healers, etc.) and the Riders who came forward. The Riders were accustomed to being treated almost like royalty and being given anything they wanted, and the present-time people who had 400 years of separation from Dragonkind under their belts. I remember one instance that created a huge furor when an Old Timer tried to claim a beautiful, custom dagger that had been made for a Lord Holder’s marriage and became incensed when he was refused. It took intervention by F’Lar and several other moderate Weyrleaders to prevent some of the hotter heads from retaliating.

I liked this chapter. Anne basically wrote from the perspective of the Weyr Leadership. It is interesting seeing how the people in the lower levels dealt with the trip Forward. Keep up the good work!

Aw, c’mon! You can’t leave us here! You’d better have the next chapter lined up quick or I think you’ll have a revolt on your hands! 😟

Simple comment: It won’t. And that’s not even for the storyline. It’s bully mentality. How dare anyone call him to task for this! Even the Wingleader! He won’t learn until he does serious bodily harm to a Rider, or worse, to a Dragon, and has to suffer censure. I wonder what Anne would have established as punishment for harming a dragon? Todd? I don’t believe it ever really happened where someone went out of their way to cause harm to another dragon (and I’m not talking about the Queen’s mating battles). When 2 dragons battled, one usually went Between and the rider was left behind to suffer the consequences. What would happen if the dragon was still here and the rider did something so heinous, like murder, whether of a rider or a dragon? Are there instances of dragons repudiating their riders, like the Companions of Valdemar? I can’t remember any.

He needs to be kept as far away from D’Gar as possible. I know it wouldn’t work story wise, but really, he should go to another wing altogether.

Da-da-DUUUH! TJ is in for a shock. And he was upset before when he suspected people were keeping secrets from him. At least, when he said that to Emily, she admitted it and explained why. Hopefully, that will help temper the news he is about to receive.
-
But Emily didn’t punch out the cop! I guess he has to ask, but really...
-
LOL! Guess I did it right. I just checked the story stream and found Chapter 13 and discovered I had somehow missed Chapter 12! So I had to backtrack here to catch up. Now on to 13!

I agree. Klaus was trained from childhood that this is how he was supposed to act. It went back generations. Someone way back when had an axe to grind and sent it down the generations to the point that no one knows why anymore. Now he has to make it up to the people of Tysa. Eric, I love your stories and am always happy to see them in the lineup, but you need an editor! At least get Grammarly to check spelling and for missing words!
-
Yep. The kids today don’t know what real cartoons are and what they’re missing!
-
He just needed to be hit over the head with a 2x4. Kastan is a good man who just doesn’t know how to show his feelings to anyone other than Shan. He’ll learn.
-
(Psst, Eric. The word is spelled ‘prosperous’!) 😉
-
Why am I not surprised that @Wesley8890 and @Daddydavek are so good at sussing out plotlines so early in a story. 😉

Ryder Sullivan! When I read the name, I thought, “Why does that sound familiar? Oh, yeah! Messiah! Yes!” I love how you bring elements of stories together to touch. Nothing big. They just cross paths. Of course, Kai and the others would want to see Ryder! It would be nice to visit with him, but this is his dark period, so...

So do a lot of those gits in DC!

Past Shapes the Future: Pt 2
Clancy59 commented on R. Eric's story chapter in Past Shapes the Future: Pt 2
Eric, you obviously had a lot on your mind. You needed to talk and needed someone to listen. You know your readers love you and will support you when you need the love. Even if it’s in the form of an ear. We know you’ve been through some horrible times. Everyone has to process issues in their own way. The way you dealt with the last few years is different than the way someone else would . Neither is wrong. Hopefully, this has helped calm things down for you, even if you didn’t realize that’s what you were doing. I’m sorry if I’m rambling. I’m very tired right now, working on getting ready for a bridal shower for our niece tomorrow, my husband’s 80th birthday today, our car blowing a tire on the freeway two days ago and a couple of other things. I hope what I said made some sense and I am not hurting your feelings. -
Boy, you are a font of information! I always wondered what they did with the bones, because I knew those wouldn’t be burned to ash. However, to learn that they plowed the ground bone into their gardens?! It may make sense biologically, but I have to say it gives me a serious case of the creeps. Germany is one of the countries I would like, to visit as my family came from there over 150 years ago, but, now I don’t know that I would want to eat anything there!

In all fairness, both chimes usually stop after about a minute.

I didn’t say you were mean. I put the shocked, open-mouth smiley in the comment.

Chapter 10 - Falling into place
Clancy59 commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 10 - Falling into place
Maybe I was romanticizing the power of a new hair cut but it felt like a weight had been lifted. I left her shop feeling like a new man, one who could face whatever was thrown my way. Just like I said in the last chapter. Nash needed to feel like he had some control over his own life and the things that were happening in it.- 33 comments
