  1. Great chapter, wonderfully vivid descriptions, more revelations, and a terrific climax that ended on a ... cliffhanger!

    Chapter 7

Mickey doesn't seem any different to Mark, only Mark can't really step back and look at himself. Both boys like fucking and it doesn't surprise me that Mickey might go off with Sean. It's all about sexual pleasure and although they love each other, there's no real feeling of love. Mark loves fucking Mickey and lucky him, Mickey enjoys getting fucked, that's it! As an aside: (I had the same problem) if you post a chapter to publish at a designated future time, then go and edit it before it's published, the timer isn't guaranteed to work and no one gets a chapter notification. It's a bug.

    Chapter 6

It's a week they've been together, that's oh so gay! I'm allowed to say that, I'm gay, haha... Is Mike getting jealous? I think they ought to do more than just fuck if this relationship is going anywhere...

    Chapter 4

Perhaps I'm the odd one out, but reading I made him mine, simply it read to me that he had fallen deeply in love, I never considered the idea of possession, only in the sense of possessing his heart. This was an emotional, powerfully erotic, first time love making, and it was described graphically by the author. It was very obvious that Mark and Mickey love each other and that the author was writing from his heart, pouring out a little of his soul into the passionate love making which he wanted to express and which he did with honestly.

    Chapter 6

I know this chapter with Danny coming out to everyone (who already knew) was very emotional, but it was also kind of cute, probably because Danny comes across as an endearing boy that would capture the hearts of any foster parents. Sadly, he's scared and frightened and severely lacking in confidence, but maybe Kate and Steve can help him get his life back.
  6. Simon's father appears lost, that much is evident when Simon says it is his dad who is the one in need of help. How exactly has his father succumbed to the deliverance of an Evangelical Church and its crazy preacher. It cannot be wholly down to his mother's influence. Perhaps Simon's homosexuality will turn out to be his father's salvation, if not the two seemed doomed to live their separate lives.

    From Within

It will be interesting to see how you wrap this all up, but all the clues are there to be read. Read it carefully, tim lays it all out, you only need to look. Great chapter.

    Chapter 5

What do I say about this chapter, about the story. It's sweet and sexy, very sexy, just like when you fall for someone. It's all about the sex, well probably not all, but the story reflects the relationship, they've found one another and basically they want to fuck each other all day long. And like I said, that reflects reality. Maybe not everyone's reality, you know, there are people who talk about going on dates, getting to know the other person, take it slowly. But, well, I think there are just as many, maybe more people, who meet a guy fall for him, and fall into bed. Going out on a date just stretches as far as meeting up, having sex, and its so fantastic, the rest of the relationship follows on.

    Into The Storm

In the end the murder of the boy was less dramatic, despite the emotions and conflicts that Stravor felt. Because Keter asked him to end his life on the altar in the crystal caves and plunged the sword into his chest with his own hand. The journey home was rapid, the gruelling trek across the mountains and encounter with the Stone Men, was not repeated. Even the eventual deliverance of the soul of Keter to the Hall of Hemothracene was a simple act. This was in many ways an anti-climax, delivered with the slightest hint that something more was a foot, more than meets the eye. The cutting of the amulet, the insistence of Keter that his soul be delivered, the words spoken posthumously by Keter to Stravor, that he could not know there was more to all this. All this points to one huge illusion, a conjuncture of events in which Stravor is only a pawn, and a struggle for power between two forces, the evil of Hemothracene and the good of Keter, the sword and the amulet. It could have been totally devastating if Keter was dead, but I think he is not, even if he was sacrificed (apparently). Of course, I could be totally wrong, only the author knows?

I second that. Very enjoyable read. Great characters, superb, spot on dialogue and overall realistic portrait of family life ☺

    Chapter 6

Great chapter. Isn't little Leon just adorable: "You won't be sad daddy?" 😚
  12. I wanted to start this thread, perhaps not with the best film link (because this film is in French without subtitles), because there are lots of good non-English gay films. Pédale (an insulting word for gay) is an (imo) amazing little film about the director's life growing up gay through the eighties and nineties. Coming to terms and surviving being gay in a country, France, where homophobia was rampant. A gay teen's life was on the line, attacked from every angle, being gay was considered a mental illness to be treated with electro shock therapy, chemical castration, even lobotomy. The aids epidemic and the self-righteous Catholic extremists would and did threaten gay life. This film tells one boy's story growing up gay from age eight to twenty-two, perhaps in the future it will get English subtitles and reach a wider audience, I hope so, it deserves to be seen.

    Chapter 3

As an author your descriptions of the emotional interplay, the dialogue you write, and the actions, fit perfectly. A social observation that is incredibly realistic. The narration never fails to impress: There was a pause. The briefest of pauses, which you could have easily missed and just assumed to be a conversational lull. But it was there, and in it, there was a look. Superb, loved it!

    Chapter 2

It was a great chapter, left me feeling all warm and cuddly, just those little touches that Connor did, like looking in on Leon after putting him to bed. As for the writing, well, it's terrific: I picked him up and he clung on to me like I imagine an astronaut might cling to the last cylinder of breathable air in a doomed spaceship. You got talent, but I already knew that😁, hope you know it too.
  15. I found this as a place to chat that is active. I didn't want to start a forum thread and whilst I've received some suggestions about this, they don't really gel with my intentions. I have nearly finished publishing online, here, my first book. I have the book available as an ebook, for anyone, free of charge. I asked about putting it on GA, but they don't do ebooks. I am not going to publish it on Amazon or any other commercial site, as I don't want to sell it. What I really would like is an online gay ebook site that I could upload the file to and readers could download it. Just like visiting a library, only virtual. I don't have my own site and whilst I could make one, it seems a little stupid for one book. Any suggestions along the lines of ebook hosting would be welcome. Should I mention at the start, or end, of the story posting that I can send an ebook. I have it in the two formats, mobi for Kindle and epub for the rest. Ideas? And if anyone wants to start an ebook hosting site or if you just want to know how to make one easily and free of charge, message or email me.

    Into The Valley

Stravor will need some magic to fight the voices of Hemothracene that get inside his head, and the only opposing force is Keter's amulet, which in some fashion was founded by the same magical power as the sword, they both glow blue. Has the sword come to be turned as a force of evil? We shall see, but good will always triumph, although at what cost?

    Thursday

I never imagined coming out to (half of) your family could go so smoothly, but I guess it helps having two mother's and with Niki's forthright character. I could sense how Simon was starting to get a bit uncomfortable when she began to get into the details of his relations with Max, nobody wants everything discussed, the kid needs his own secret garden. Nice chapter, you're a good author.

    Wednesday

I could feel the boredom and frustration, his feeling of being trapped and not knowing how to find a way out. It is very realistic, probably the majority of gay teens have been there. The worst is the fear lurking in the background, coming out in the jungle of school life is not a realistic possibility. It's just such a pain wanting to meet someone and wanting to make love, but with at least that someone who cares about him.

    Chapter 4

I've caught up and the story is progressing nicely. I like the different plot lines, The Major and his boys, John and his trust fund, Beccy and the baby. I didn't know babies could have that effect on people, making them drop like flies 😁. I did wonder how the lads would manage a strong tea for The Major, but then I imagined those hospital vending machines which mostly dispense warm coloured liquid and not a cafeteria where you might found a nice human behind the counter. Btw, your self-editing is not too bad, any little errors that creep in don't really count for much.

    A Family Dinner

Parents can sometimes be really embarrassing and they don't ever realise. I think Irish mums are particularly good at it, had a very good friend as a kid and his mother certainly ruled the house and spoke her mind without so much as a thought. So the no tickling Sonny because his mum had no dry underpants, rings very true, both funny and terribly embarrassing.

    First Steps

There is the story, full of conflicts, Stravor and what he is commanded to do, his father's voice and his own. Then Keter and his love and fear. The story is great, but (and this is sincere) it's the way you tell it that makes all the difference, those wonderful descriptions: Echoes of his words bounced off the walls. The souls held within them scattered like roaches fleeing light, when the sound reverberated through the Hall.

    Making Ready

This is a very polished story full of little hints that keep us guessing. It is very enjoyable and easy to read. The adventure is about to begin and although things wont be so comfortable on the road, Stravor will at least have Keter to warm his bed at night. I wonder why he never had a boy with him before?
  23. It's a long time since I've read a fantasy tale and this one reminds me of the best of those stories. The opening is almost a vision of hell and the juxtaposition with the previous night at the inn is a superb contrast. I love the descriptions and enjoyed how you wrote the romp with the boy Stravor brought to his bed, never something easy to get right, but you did it perfectly. There is an air of mystery and a looming threat, Hemothracene is not the force for good he might appear to be, Stravor's father has seen the truth. The boy Keter touches what's left deep inside Stravor, but he also poses a danger. A quest is looming, but will Stravor find his way, or will he be stabbed in the heart? Every hero has his Achilles heel! Great writing my friend.
  24. Wow, I see what you mean about a lot of questions. I don't think I can be of much help because I can't remember if I did any editing after posting. It is quite possible that I did, because I always read through yet still sometimes find a little error and correct it. The only thing I can say for certain is that the two chapters five and six which were scheduled for each Wednesday at weekly intervals did not get posted together. I looked at GA once, but without logging on (on a public WiFi) whilst away and saw chapter five had been posted, but not chapter six. So I presume chapter six went out as scheduled. I'm sorry, but other than noticing as you pointed out, all three chapters had the same publishing date and being certain they didn't all go out on the same day, but at more or less weekly intervals, I can't tell you any more. For myself it's no problem. I'll add a note when I publish chapter seven for readers to be aware two chapters went out previously, in case they missed them. I'll watch for the editing, that is, not to do it, should this come up again in the future. Thanks for your help.

    Chapter 6

I'm wondering, given the date this all took place, mid-sixties, was the idea of being gay and in the closet even invented. Was the term gay used or was it simply homo, queer, or poof? This is England and Stonewall didn't happen until 1969, so the time to cross the Atlantic. When you look it up, it is stated that gay came to mean homosexual before the sixties, but I'm not sure that's true? I do find the way you conjure up the epoch absolutely fantastic and very engaging, a great read.
