While I would tend to agree... Brandon was the main character to a point. But if you step back and look at the last several chapters who has become the main character? I think Brandon introduced us to the story, however lately it just seems the story is more about Jerry/Scar then it is about instinct any longer. If this is the goats intention, what better way to be rid of a pesky loose string the the story line? Could have Instinct merely been a device to drag us kicking and screaming into a tale of international intruige? It is highly likely, and a rather skillful rope-a-dope at that. How many of us would have read this far if Instinct weren't in play? Granted, I like action films as much as the next guy; action films. However, my reading usually doesn't venture into this genre. As for who is leaking what? No one has leaked anything period. Perhaps they made a misstep in saying that they have beta read future chapters, yet nothing else of consequence was mentioned. Had it been mentioned, the post would no longer exist. That I can assure. I know this much because I messed up when FtL was being posted, and mentioned something from a chapter that had yet to be released. the post was online for about 15 minutes before it was caught and redacted. EDIT: pesky double negatives umm split s in a crippled business jet? he's running on one engine with poor response as it is. Any evasive manuvers are highly unlikely as Brandon lacks both the skill, and the responsive aircraft to do so. Steve

You raise a good point Low Flyer, but I am going to counter with this. CJ, is pretty good, at something. He roped the majority of us in with a little diddy about a relationship. However as chapters progressed, it appeared the story centered more and more around The Scar's plans, consiquently less and less around Instinct. they have, in a way, become a device to introduce and further the real story CJ wants to tell. As for not thinking it was a good chapter, just because of the open end? I have to disagree with you there. It's a standard practice, employed by amature as well as pro alike. I personally have seen more movies then I can count on mmy hand where a scene was cut in the height of drama to move to a more low key scene, only to go back to point of the cut. it's a technique used to build tension... nothing more and nothing less in my opinion. Would we all rather have 38 up right now? yeah sure we would, but the anticipation is part of the fun as well Furthermore, not to pull the tail feathers out of a goose, but who said anything about a group of misfit musicians being the heroes? and don't worry about people throwing missiles your way. What happens next?? Que music... "Meet me half way, Across the sky... Make this a new begining, of another life...." When I originally read this chapter, which i did at work -bad idea by the way-, I was left feeling nauseous. CJ has been rather masterful in painting Eric into this corner, okay he painted the rest of the band there too. With the extensive set up; I just can't see anyway out. Often lately I have been asking myself, 'What drives people to make the decisions they do?' There are things I just don't understand, and in many ways i really don't want to understand. Why does one person find it necessary to talk badly about another? Why would they misrepresent facts, even if they did so mistakingly? I don't understand these concepts. Granted I'm no angel, I'll be the first to freely admit that. However, I subscribe to that whole blasie 'live and let live' mumbo jumbo. You know the creed thats right there next to 'If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all,'. Don't read that wrong, I'll bitch when I think something is wrong, or I think someone is doing something stupid as well. I've been biting my tongue allot lately. I'd like to know why a few people made the choices they made. the only answer that can satisfy that curiosity and my sincere hope not to think less of these people is; They accepted single-sided council. They listened to only one side of the story. I sincerely hope that is the answer, because they are damn good people, not to mention damn fine writers. I miss them. I'm tired of being disappointed, yet somewhere I know it is the only possible outcome now. They listened to their council, made their decisions. I waited for proof of character and made mine. This proof, for me, came in a number of ways, and it was far too common to be mistaken for anything other then a significant signpost of character. when you hear an outstanding theme running through several opinions, well, it kinda shows you something. maybe their council's words carried more weight then the mounds of proof through past, and recent, actions. Yet, I fear the words that are being used to pollute their minds. Perhaps these aren't things I should be worrying about, but I hate to see other people being, being manhandled and used as pawns in something they had no involvement in. That, however, is how the world works. One vicious unending cycle of misrepresentation and out right lies. I just hope the people I respect, the people I admire will wake up and open their eyes to the words they have listened to. Steve

Exactly what I've been thinking since I first started carrying keys, a wallet, and a phone. I've always maintained that a purse would be extremely practical for many, if not most, guys and I have no doubt that I in particular would benefit immensely from one. It would also be fun to coordinate it with my shoes and belt! I would never be without hand lotion, lip balm, tissue, pen and paper, a mirror, a comb/brush, and in all likelihood a small tube of concealer (and probably lube and condoms as well ). Nevertheless, even I am not immune to society and it's gender expectations, and since I don't identify as transsexual or have any desire to cross dress, I unfortunately don't think I'd feel comfortable carrying a purse. I can only pray that eventually society decides that men should have them too. Lol funny, i carry most of that around in my pockets. Well maybe not the concealer mirror brush.... you get the picture

As great a cliffhanger as you claim LiS 26 was, it never acheived the status of having a poll based on whether or not anything happened of great import to the story line. That standard alone negates LiS 26 as the be all, end all mother of cliffhangers. Shadow=darkness? that is a hopscotch game away from reality don't you think? All shadow really means is the absence of light. Surely one cannot have shadows in darkness. Such a feet is against the laws of physics, after all, if there is not light, there are no shadows. again, being the god of darkness, he would have no notion of shadows. You need LIGHT to have shadows. Lack of light = lack of shadows. you know perfectly well about that... you four legged barnyard ruminant you. I say this hypothesis has no basis in the realm of proven scientific fact. You relay more on metaphysical mumbo-jumbo. Wait back up. I think the bombs no longer being in the gear is the largest red flag ever. The plan has nearly reached fruition, which could only mean interesting things lie ahead. futhermore, Eric could have easily been written out of the LtMP plot, far easier then Cody could have been released from Dreams & Clipped Wings YES, Let the Megalomaniac Play has a nice ring to it does it not? AND!! it most certainly fits the current environment.

Now that we are several chapters into Let the Music Play, I figured it was high time to resurrect Kevin's previous Poll from way back in October 2007. So who is your favourite? I'd love to agree with everything you have pointed out here Tiger, however I can not. I was all for Eric staying in San Francisco. CJ for some reason has seen fit not to accept this. It was even I who asked if I could keep him, I even said please. But the goat is being selfish As for his claims that it is my fault. that is him again, skewing the facts to his benefit. I offered to keep Eric safe and Happy in SF, he countered with the offer of letting Cody go on the road with Instinct. Obviously my offer was the more practical of the two. It would have maintained the seperate story lines, where as Cody joining instinct on the road, would have irrecoverably merged the two stories beyond intent. not to mention he has nuclear devices in his, which sorry to say keep me a little on edge as far as safety is concerned. perhaps Let the Music Play should really be named Let the Megalomaniac Play in CJ's honor???

I whole heartedly concur!!! Helen may have to be sanctioned for her overzealousness this go-round. What ever happened to opening the door and then quietly backing out? Truly bad form. Sadly, Instinct only had two concerts in SF, Friday and Saturday night. Maybe next tour?
