    Even at a police dept. office you know the "good guys" a secret can't be kept. Adam and I may have come from different backgrounds, and to some people we may have even been an odd couple, but as I looked across the table at him now, all I could think of was how lucky I was feeling. Lucky that he was a part of my life. And lucky that I had found someone else that I could love. I’m not sure if it actually was love just yet. But I knew that I could love him. And for now, that was enough. I hope I'm wrong but this passage it seems to me sets up that Adam might be one of the victims in The Mardi Gras Murders

    Thankfully Nick's Mom is a doctor she may have done something at just the right moment that was crucial.     … Ace was so good at standing up for himself and dumping Carter, will it last? It sounds like Ace is not going to say anything about Carter.But Carter up to now seems like someone who won't take no for an answer.So if he continues to pursue this Ace may have no choice but to send Carter to that prison cell with his name on it.     Normally I would be steaming mad at what the 4 bullies did but in @Lee Wilson stories the payback is worse then what they did initially so I look forward to that. Next up - “Suits and Birthdays” I eagerly anticipating that but I would be more eager if the title of the chapter was Birthday Suits
