    Chapter 1

Oh, the dirty rotten things that some fathers will do to their kids. Looks like Calvin is pulling the disappearing act on his little boys; I don't trust him at all and neither does Diego. I wish I had more confidence in other people but my opinion is jaded from my own bad experiences. I think Diego may be in the same boat as far as Calvin is concerned. Let's just hope he possesses the fortitude and the good will to stand in for the missing dad until he chooses to return. It doesn't look very hopeful for the kids but we can keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Diego is saddled with a bad bit of news to break to the boys when they wake up. Can he be sufficiently gentle and careful with what he has to say when the time comes? Great introduction to this heartfelt story that you have to share with us. Anxious to read some more.

    Chapter 2

Even with the droll descriptions of the cicadas your choice of words leaves a vibrant impression: “Awesome, Dani!” Giacomo exclaimed, hurrying over as Daniele turned round, triumphant, with one of the large brown insects clutched gently in his hand. The dark-eyed boy took Daniele’s hand in his, extending a curious finger towards the creature, but then it took flight, and they both ducked aside as it blundered up between their faces, seeking a higher perch.

    Dressing Down

Absolutely loved the wolf calisthenics: First up, shoulder stretches. Extend your left foreleg, keeping your paw forward and flat.” Gansukh stretched his leg out, letting his paw hang flat. “Hold the stretch for fifteen seconds, then let your leg fall and pendulum.” Gansukh’s leg fell, swinging back and forth under his chest. “Then we repeat on the other side before moving to the back legs.” Soren copied the motions, letting out a snort as Altanchono toppled beside him. He nudged the golden wolf until Altanchono scrambled back to his feet with a muted growl. “And snout stretches,” Miles called. “Touch your nose to your shoulder, hold for ten seconds, touch your elbow, ten seconds, and touch your toes, ten seconds. Then repeat on your other side.”
  4. How wonderful to end this story on such a high note! But Jacob's tale is meant to show that men's souls are everlasting and unbreakable if you choose to walk a righteous path. Maybe, one day who knows, we will see him again... Thank you for adding this epic tale to my life! I will never forget this.
  5. Thank you for finishing the story on an up note with hope in the air and the future bright. I was wondering how this would come together and be resolved and I'm thankful that Blake and his parents are on the road to recovery. It looks like Aric and Blake may have a future together after all. I wish them all the best!
  6. All that crazy anticipation and uncertainty before sharing this intimate first-time experience with your new friend was captured in the long drawn out steps that Aric went through so delicately explained. I was blown away and could feel the angst in the room right down to my toes! Well done Comsie! Give us some more...

    Uncertainty

I so agree that Wyn and Wren are the greatest pairing two characters could achieve! I, too, squeeed at the cuddling tale reluctantly confirmed by Wren with an explanation that can't be faulted. (I don't know what that means but I love the word!)

    Chapter 5

So glad to see Sami find a soulmate friend, Luca, who is like himself adopted. I hope the two of them build a close friendship.

    Chapter 4

I am a new reader of your work @James Carnarvon, having been introduced to you by @raven1only two days ago. He recommended your story The Summer of the Firefly in Reader's Choice "First Love" gay stories collection and, trusting his judgement, I immediately entered your name into my list of followed authors and received a notification today of a new chapter 4 of The Star in my Eye by @James Carnarvon. So I decided to catch myself up to date on this story and follow along. Well, Holy Molly, I am glad beyond words that I did!! I found myself an author on GA with exceptional skills with great pacing, characters, dialogue, descriptive talents and fine storyline that you have to fall in love with lock, stock and barrel, I'm proud to call myself one of your enthusiastic followers. While this story posts I'll be catching myself up with The Summer of the Firefly and all subsequent editions of the back story of Gianni and Angelo's lives. Thank you for sending me on a fine journey!
  10. I can see that they will get to Spencer soon (the hospital is within sight) but who is going to notify them of where to go after they leave the hospital? Will Sanchez and Frye survive along with John Logan and his son so all four will arrive safely at the school once they figure out that that is where they need to go? This is definitely a major Fingers Crossed story from start to finish but they've all got their work cut out for them in the coming chapters. Thanks for reviving this story, Comsie.

    Chapter 5

The Kift looked unsure of her answer. "Considering the rules of the lower layer, where no one can be killed, I would say it's most useful aspect will be that it somehow gives Tallfield knowledge that he would otherwise not have gained without its use." Kippy smiled at that. "That sounds like a very smart way of saying you don't know, to me." The Kift also smiled. "It's painful to be so transparent!" I particularly enjoyed this exchange between Chirka and Kippy. Kippy is so dead to rights capable of simplifying the complex language that comes out of the Kift's mouth. It's refreshing.

    Chapter 1

To run from something chasing you is a primal fear we all experience in our nightmares, but oh to have it enter our waking world! You have set the scene beautifully and have my nerves on end! Come entertain me some more.
  13. So glad I follow you and have read all your previous posts in GA! I would have been truly sorry if I'd missed this one had I not been notified. You are so rich and deep in what you chose to share with us we are really blessed with your presence. You are the cause of so much introspection that reading your rant left me drained. Thank you for the effect you have on me. I'm your lifetime fan.

    Chapter 29

Welcome to the fold, @demian. You're among friends here. Feel free to add your comments whenever you feel moved. I do from time to time. You really picked a great author to break yourself in on! Comicality truly has the most dedicated followers who have been with him for the longest of times as he is one of the original authors at the founding of the site. Our love for him is immeasurable even though we don't take the time to tell him as frequently as we ought to. @Comicalityyou're the greatest!

    Chapter 8

Jol smiled then. "No. Some are interested in the thrill of exploration. Others in the joy of learning new things. Some simply want a quiet existence in a reality that they find familiar and comfortable. Each of us has a different take on happiness. Me? I want a world I find familiar and comfortable, but I also want it to be exciting! Jol of The Tors gives us a great lesson for Living Your Best Life (giving a shout-out to Loren from another story) right here on earth as Charlie, Kippy, Adrian, Ricky, Bob, and Horace return there after dropping off Casper and Ragal on Egris with a promise to re-group at Christmas time along with the addition of a couple of Elves. What a clever way for @Geron Keesto end a Halloween tale and prepare for a continuation back in the Cooee over the Christmas holiday.
  16. Once again, @Philippeyou make such intelligent and astute comments but that image of Finn is just remarkable, cowboy hat or not!! It makes me just want to hug him right out of that driver's seat!

    Chapter 12

Okay, Russ. Listen to Missy. She knows what she's talking about. She's been inside Colin's head before. Colin doesn't know what he wants, he's so frightened he can't be trusted to act rationally. Honor that fear but be patient with him. Get out your kid gloves and handle him gently. Don't leave him alone though. He'll just wallow in self pity until he's too broken to get up. Save him from himself. Be there for him through thick and thin. Wait him out. He'll come around and you'll be so glad when he does. He's falling in love with you. (And quit leading Joey on like that. Set him free).

    Chapter 8

Way to go, @Story Reader!! You picked the best to-the-point except from the chapter and shared a highly intelligent comment to go along with it. This chapter is really quote-worthy and shines as an example of the world according to Comsie all the way through!! The nuggets of wisdom he comes up with are remarkable to read and leave us with a warm spot in our heart. Thank you @Comicalityfor being yourself!!

    Chapter 6

Uh huh. Illia, what's the size of the gravitational wavefront our friend out there is applying, and the resultant acceleration imparted to the Hartonin ship?" Mike raised his eyebrows at the elf's wording. Max could really get his tongue around words if he needed to! That's some amazing talking Max can do!

    The King

The tension in the lead-up to the hunt made the fear palpable. The whole story was a stellar experience. Well done!

    The Purple Door

This is the second story I've read this morning about loss & death and reawakening & birth and your entry into this time in my life is very welcoming. I loved the way the restoration of the house coincided with the rebirth of love in David's life. Thank you for a story well told!
  22. What a great story to wake up to with my coffee and grilled cheese sandwich!! Dealing with loss is something I do every day and it continually gets easier year after year. What a great chance meeting for a new romance with just enough held back emotion to make it all believable. Thanks for a welcome chance to smile at new awakenings.

    Epilogue

This is the most satisfying story I've read in ages and it will be continued on and on in my mind until I take my final breath (which may not be all that long in reality as I am already 69 years old)!! "I’ll never look at my dreams the same way again…” ...as Christopher so clearly states at the end and is so very true in my own mind. Thank you @Altimexisfor giving me such an awesome time reading about TTT and all its remarkable twists and turns!! I particularly enjoyed the epilogue and Frank's imaginative description of reality. It takes my breath away!!

    Chapter 4

"A one-way time machine, then?" Kontus asked. "What would be the good of that? Why go to the past if you cannot return?" "But you can return," Illia put in. "You just have to come back in the normal manner." Bobby laughed. "You have to wait for the time to pass again." Mike whistled at that. "That could present a problem." He smiled at his boyfriend. "Why is it a Tipler cylinder?" "That's the guy that discovered it back on earth. Just like Pacha calls it a Radch'ka device, after the guy on his planet that discovered it." "Oh." Mike laughed. "Makes too much sense to be obvious, I guess!" Sometimes Mike comes up with the most insightful statements!! His innocence just comes shining through.

    Chapter 3

Pacha nodded his head. "The law of decreasing resistance dictates that the longer one travels within the Cooee, the faster their relative speed becomes. It has something to do with the elasticity of the dark continuum." Bobby grinned at that. "Good thing. Otherwise, we'd still be on our way here for another couple of weeks!" Pacha makes the complicated elements of space travel over vast distances seem so logical and straightforward it's easy to fall right in step with his outrageous proclamations. Even Bobby who is a relative newcomer to the group can make sense out of Pacha's teaching that he can join in the conversation with sensible conclusions.
