Thanks, CS! I'm happy you enjoyed them. Once I finish up with my current story, I'll be heading back here for more of these vignettes!

    Chapter 87

I giggled at this chapter. It's like a comedic superhero movie where two characters are convincing a third to join, and they say, "Wait. You're telling me you opened an interdimensional portal and unleashed legions of radioactive scorpions with laser cannons attached to their heads, and you want me to help clean up your mess?" Best part is the next words should start the next chapter. "I'm game, let's do it!"
  3. Thanks for commenting, SR! Glad to see you're enjoying the story so far.
  4. I knew you'd love Cy and Kap's scene. We all enjoy an erotic love-making . Vincent, the auditor. Did anyone have a bet placed for this to happen? It's always fun to write things the readers aren't anticipating. Cy wanted his mate, but with a little role reversal. I can't wait to bring Cyrus' game into play. Just what could our favorite conniving panda bring to the table?
  5. I agree with both statements. Things will be going much slower from here on out. It was a formality, but it was an enjoyable one. At least, from the author's perspective. While writing this comment, I thought of a soon-to-be plot-hole. Need to patch that up... Now that would be the icing on the cake, wouldn't it? Stefan? At Vincent's parents' grave? That might be too cold. *writes it down* Cy and Kap's fun time is a blast to write. I could've spent a whole book just on them. Marlo is like Cyrus! Maybe all of these EC people like to keep things moving... I enjoy writing the sex as much y'all like to read it. Vincent isn't even employed by the EC and he's got an assignment. I believe the unexpected trip home is much needed. Cyrus' use of "nasty" is different. I can't recall who he said it to, but he introduced himself once as Cyrus, "or Mr. Vonder if you want to be nasty." Seems to be a word for devious or something of the sort... I'm so excited! I haven't even told Noah what the game is. Don't mind me, just squealing over here.
  6. Kaplan's jaw went slack and his dick twitched. He… Cy wants me to— "My pup?" Snapping out of his trance, he saw the shining emerald eyes. "Cy?" Kaplan held the thighs in front of him. The skin was smooth to the touch. They're so big. A finger laced his cheek. "I want you to make love to me. I want my mate inside of me." The lycan was in disbelief. Up until now, the roles were established. He's my alpha, and I'm his beta. His eyes tell me he's serious. I just… I never anticip
  7. I'm beginning to wonder if my cliffhangers are CIA-torture worthy. If I'm contacted to read to prisoners, I'll let y'all know... or maybe not. Depends on the men in black. Can't wait to have you as one of the anticipating readers!
  8. Oh, you can't stop reading now! You're so close to being caught up. It was so much fun bringing Mandla and Kaya in the story. I'm sure we'll see them again some day.
  9. Don't know how I missed this comment! Terribly sorry, raven. I needed Cyrus' scars to tell a tale. It was required for many reasons, and I'm glad it was well received by the readers. His tale might be one of my favorites I've written so far.
  10. I thought long and hard about where Cyrus should originate from, and I'm happy with my decision. Kentucky doesn't have a wolf population. It's mostly deer and coyotes with a few bobcats here and there. Somewhere along the way, different species of shapeshifters had to have come from somewhere. As rare as a panda shifter would be, one can come from anywhere. For shifters, specifically for mating with humans, it just takes one drop of blood... I like Remis. Do I see much of a backstory for him as the author? Not really, and I hate saying that. His move to the states has a simple reason: change of scenery. To me, if a new backstory was to pop up, I'd first start with Caleb and Tasha. I can't quite remember if their story was mentioned at this point (I want to say yes...), but it's the most interesting to me. Once again, thanks for commenting, Quixo!
  11. I know this feeling, and I love it! Keep going, keep going!
  12. I laughed at "tall order." Very funny. Nah, there's something about a guy bigger than me picking me up and setting me on a washing machine, preferably with it running. Thanks for commenting, Davi!
  13. I'm not sure if Blue Jays would be bombers. Sounds like an occupation for a falcon, or maybe an eagle. Nevertheless, I'll be on the lookout for peanut-clutching birds from now on.

    Chapter 86

Uh oh. The front? Is Garjah about to do his best cowboy impression? I certainly hope so. Can we tell Ases about the potential suicide mission yet? I'm pretty sure he'd like to know. But not until Garjah finishes the massage!

    Chapter 85

Wow, can't believe I missed a week! I recognize Garjah changing, but I dismissed it as him adapting his security position for his people's sake. But when will our cast recognize that Essel's changed as well. He's certainly less snarky and selfish. Is there an unspoken clarity pairbonded receive after a certain time? Is Bouncer the cause? I'm partially banking on him to stand on his hind-legs and speak English at the Kardoval meeting...
  16. Same!! I'd rather sit in Santa's lap. At least he has presents. Happy Easter, Patch. Sorry, I go to the Church of the Groundhog. I don't believe in the Blue Jay. 🙃 Joking aside, Blue Jay, huh. Now I'm really spinning a potential plot... and it doesn't involve the squirrels. Just a bird and a bear...
  17. A different consciousness from your own now lives in your head. He dislikes vegetables, makes rash conclusions... Oh, and has the ability to take over your body and give you the backseat. Every shifter has this invisible neighbor, so to speak. Only the alpha's animal spirit can assume control. It's a constant balance between the human and animal. One can't do something without the other's agreement. Alpha Griffith wasn't meant to last long. Probably for the best. Stacy impressed me. As I was writing her response to the Griffith ordeal, she was speaking to me, asking for strength. Thanks for commenting, Quixo!
  18. Honestly, this story was difficult. I'm not one for high-stress situations, and I'm not sure if I would have it in me to obey an evil figure in such a high-stress situation. But hey, fiction writing! "The bad guy told me to find the explosive eggs, so I did it!" I enjoy a smart bad guy who knows how to use his words. One has to wonder how many people The Bun has blown up...
  19. Your squirrels have acorn guns? I smell an interesting side story in the Cernunnos universe. Sounds like a new branch in the supernatural armed forces.
  20. Teehee! I appreciate wordplay. Teehee again! Replacing bulbs? Are you worried The Bun will come for you, doc?
  21. Always egg the uneggspected. I mean expect the unexpectegg. Bah! I'll never look at the mall's Easter bunny photo mascot the same again...
  22. Thanks, Chris! Who knew eggs liked their humans scrambled?

  24. A piercing laugh woke me. I reminded myself to change my ringtone. Bo Burnham’s Welcome to the Internet was funny, but damn if that maniacal cackle wasn’t frightening. Grabbing my phone, I saw it was barely past six in the morning. “Jesus,” I mumbled. The number wasn’t displayed either, but the caller ID showed The Bun. I knew I didn’t have anyone saved in my contact list under that. Must’ve been one of Karissa’s antics. Dumped her ass after she changed every number in my phone to some cut
