That is why I maintain he is just obsessed with Jace...and the illusion of their planned future... You notice he was the one making plans and not Jace?.... It is actually forbidden passion....only people made of stronger stuff can resist the temptation... I am going to say something unpopular ....there was no way Jace could have defeated his temptation to get in bed with Matteo....their past was intense...their love, as Chris pointed out, was soul consuming and intense and and their feelings were never resolved since Matteo chose himself over that love. The past therefore becomes an impediment to whatever future may have been planned . The bond that has grown between Noah and Jace in the last 6 years is just like the one that existed between Matteo and Jace 17 years ago ..Only this bond was forged in fire . That's why I am inclined to believe Jace is not totally irredeemable.. He is just a man making bad choices . We will just have to wait and see how @vanalas resolved this .

That's why I keep getting confused too....that scene where Alexander talks about Brad as being his worst enemy speaks volumes....Alexander must have gotten fed up with Brad during College and from that statement it is also easy to surmise that Lynton was not aware of what was happening either because of his cluelessness or he knew but was in self-denial as we have come to realize about our favourite narrator .

I had not pegged the Wickham streak in him yet because was basing on the College version but then I remembered the Christmas holiday chapter , his nonchalance towards Lynton and the scene where he sent Lynton to get them drinks. I was also reluctant to accept because we are yet to see the present ..we are now in Day 3 of the Wedding get away vacation..

if Brad could be read as a blend of George Wickham and John Willoughby - charming, socially magnetic, but ultimately driven by self-interest and risky habits . I think it's still early to say he is a blend of those two...If I had to choose ,personally I feel he is more of a John Willoughby at this point.. Maybe when we get some more chapters in we will have a clearer picture.
