  1. I wonder how Kelly died. Maybe one of his boy toys on the side murdered him. He’d deserve it. 😠 Don’t hurt my Seamus. Really though, Matt should not have ditched Seamus and his friends to converse for 45 minutes with a stranger at the bar. He wasn’t drunk enough for that lol. I think he still has some making up to do, wink wink The storyline around Jay is hilarious. I wouldn’t know who he was either. But hopefully he can find someone who is neither starstruck nor indifferent. This chapter was fun, both buoyant and dramatic in waves. I enjoyed learning more about Seamus. Hopefully soon Matt will learn how to read him a little better 🤞 to his credit, Seamus hides his emotions pretty well. Looking forward to more as always!
  2. Your imagery of moon and sun pairs well with the harsh realities of illness. Beautiful poem ❤️
  3. Welcome! I’ve found the people on this site to be welcoming and friendly since I joined a few months back. Hope you have a good experience as well. There are some excellent authors and stories to discover. Happy reading!
  4. There’s nothing quite like the bond of a child and their dog. This is a sweet homage to Marguerite Fatty Pants. I bet she was adorable!
  5. I have a tendency to avoid planning like the plague (in all areas of life, not just writing). But when I buckle down and force myself to do it, I never regret it. Thanks for the helpful reminder
  6. Living with your boyfriend before you even start dating: moving so fast you go back in time? Matt is very young and living together permanently would be pretty terrifying that early in a relationship. I think Matt has the right idea. Seamus is just butt hurt (ha ha) and it also sounds like he’s very lonely. Hopefully some honest communication will help him cool off. Good for Matt on being ready to chase the man down and make him listen.

    Chapter 7

You’ve just made my day It’s great to read your insights about the characters. Yes, Jonathan has shown a lot of willpower and determination in finding Ethan, and Ethan desperately needs someone who he can trust. I’m looking forward to writing about how they navigate the challenges they face ahead. Thanks for the thoughtful comment, I’m very glad you found the story again!

    Furioso

Excellent chapter. So much tension is building, I’m feeling jittery from it all. I felt this part in my soul. Poor Rick . Zoltan is very convincing. I hope Gus finds a way to do some un-convincing. Zoltan makes me irrationally angry. His attitude reeks of classism. I imagine Zoltan is using similar manipulative tactics on Gus. If neither of them can see through it, then they are doomed. As a few other commenters have mentioned, Rick’s anger seems like a good fuel for him. Both Rick and Gus need to bite back, or they’ll never have control of their own lives. I can’t wait to see how this develops.
  9. I wish there was a flame or a drooly reaction. The teasing they did in the car was so hotttt. Not to mention everything else that happens in this chapter. I agree with Matt — the wait made it so much better. Nice work as always!!

    Chapter 7

Thank you so much! Going from almost total isolation into a big city environment would leave anyone feeling like a fish out of water. But for Ethan it’s doubly challenging. Jonathan is going to have his work cut out for him

    Chapter 6

Endless is right - honestly I wonder how anyone can stand the journey by train, but I know a few people who love it. Thank you for reading & commenting!

You have a way with words my friend! Two braying asses chomping at the bit is a mental image that will stick with me. Thanks for commenting lol

    Chapter 7

Thanks for the feedback and good questions! It’s perfectly possible I rushed the pacing a little too much here. In my head, I was thinking that Jonathan (22) had been pining after Ethan (28) since he was a kid. Ethan sees him as the only person he can open up to. It’s hard for me to tell if I jumped the gun here - so I definitely need an outside perspective. I wonder what other readers think. Please don’t hesitate to share. I’m more than open to critique since my goal is to improve . The birds are a bit of Rayna’s quirky fun. She has an eccentric streak lol
  18. “You’re mad at me, aren’t you,” Michael said. I considered him over my coffee. It tasted thin, but it was better than nothing. The forlorn and sunken look in Michael’s eyes made me wonder if he hadn’t slept well last night. We sat across from each other, sky painted pink with sunrise outside the window. “A little,” I replied honestly. “We agreed on something, but you didn’t keep your word.” He nodded and pulled his feet up onto the seat, tucking his chin into the crevice between

    Chapter 4

It’s great to get some insight into the groups of kids surrounding this murder. I like how you presented that several of them feel a little guilty about their most recent interactions with Noelle. It makes them all seem mildly suspicious, not as if they killed her, but as if they saw Noelle as a bit of a space cadet and possibly an annoyance. I wonder what their relationship was, friends or acquaintances or somewhere in between. Sophie says that Dalton is acting strange, but I wonder what behaviors make him seem strange to her. Looking forward to more!
  20. Finally!!!! I was going to tear my hair out if something didn’t happen after that Shakespeare / spear joke. I laughed out loud literally and almost spit out my drink. And then the follow-up with “choreplay.” You are going to make me choke but at least I’ll die laughing. Seamus coming after Matt at the seedy bar was amazing. The kiss was even better. Love love love.

    Chapter 6

Thank you so much for your comment. I couldn’t be happier to read your feedback on the portrayal of emotions. I noticed there are a number of talented poets who post their work here. I’ve been busy digging through the fiction and haven’t gone too far in that direction yet, but I will sometime soon. Looking forward to writing more!
  22. Oh, Seamus. Offering your time, your home, your life at this boy’s feet? You better not hurt him, Matt! It’s the insecure ones that do the most damage. Ughhhh I’m too excited to read about their weekend. I’m impatient and tapping my feet and I just wanna eat this story whole.

    Dissonance

That Rita is a never-ending fount of gossip and treachery. She had to know people would assume the ring came from Rick. What was she thinking?? I don’t know if Rita understands Rick’s history with College Hill, but I am still mad at her for going after it. It would be a special kind of awful feeling to have such a sacred place threatened. Can’t wait to see where this leads. If Rick chooses to fight for college hill it could easily sweep him up in an ugly world of politics. Unless you have a strong environmentalist presence putting pressure on the politicians, developers pretty much always win. Everyone gets dollar signs in their eyes and can’t see around them. I’m crossing my fingers for him.

    Yonder

I loved how you wrapped up the story. Mamma G and her nicknames are fantastic lol! Truckerbait, Tiny and Stump hahahahaha I think it was a great decision to have Lee leave the camp and strike out on his own. An act of bravery and independence, supported by the love and care of a camp full of incredible folks. Thanks for the heart wrenching journey and sweet happy ending. I loved this story the whole way through. And thanks for reviewing and helping me find another great author and series of stories to read, @Parker Owens!

    Nightfall

Oh my goodness, I realized I need to go to work just as I hit this cliffhanger. I’m not going to be able to focus at all! Lament!!!! This story is fantastic so far. I love the wealth of characters and how much each one pulls on the heartstrings. I can’t wait to continue reading. Literally can’t wait. Sighhhhhh
