    The Winding Road

I could definitely feel the love and friendship in your words. Nicely done. BTW, if you want to eliminate the double spacing in each stanze, hit shift + return simultaneously at the end of each line within the stanze, but not at the last line in the stanza. I hope that helps.

    Happy Holidays

I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean.
  3. Yes, the technology of the past surely had some impact on losing contact with people. Unfortunately, Tristan and Gavin suffered from more problems than just that. Thank you for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
  4. @Myr, yep it's all back to normal. Thank you.
  5. Thanks, flesco. I'm no Steven King, but I do have a warped imagination and many of the ideas come to me in dreams, sometimes daydreams, but I'm glad you enjoy them. Your support and feedback is greatly appreciated.
  6. Thank you, flesco. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
  7. I agree with you entirely. Scott stuck around to set things straight and seek justice, and then he stayed around because he saw in Jeremy the protector and father figure he'd never had. Thank you for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed this story.
  8. And I had nine pages of story listings before the update, and now there are only three pages listed.
  9. Your dad isn't the only one to lose everything in a fire, flood, or other disaster, Valkyrie, and it's a shame when they don't have those photos to share with their loved ones later. It's too bad an option like this doesn't exist to assist them. Thank you for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed this story.
  10. Thank you for the feedback, Valkyrie, and I'm glad you enjoyed this story.
  11. Yes, @flesco, cutting the bullies off from the activities they love does have an effect, but sometimes it just makes them more aggressive, since they have more time on their hands and nothing more to lose. It's a difficult decision on how to handle these situations and there isn't one solution that fits all circumstances. Thanks for the feedback.
  12. I second what @W_Ljust said. Thank you to the entire proof team and @Renee Stevensfor all their hard work in putting this together.
  13. Yes, I'm always very careful about saying something is impossible, because of the reasons you stated, as well as many others. I'm glad you enjoyed this story and thanks for the feedback.
  14. The worry isn't so much that people will use it for nefarious purposes, but that AI itself will becomd nefarious.

    The Truest Gift

Isn't it amazing how some people can go through life not giving a damn about what others think of them and can just be themself, while others hid it and are afraid to let their true self show. A very special gift indeed is showing someone how to be comfortable in his own skin. Well done.
  16. Yes, things like this might be possible in the future, because who knows where the advances in science might take us. The physical manifestations of our happiest moments often bring us joy, and it's a shame whenever those items are lost or destroyed. Thanks for the feedback, W_L.
  17. Isn't it strange how we react and adapt to horrible situations, and then we keep those same defense mechanisms into adulthood, even if they're used for slightly different purposes. Thank you for the feedback, W_L.

    Cliff’s Pendant

A wonderful story that wasn't just about Zack's love for Tanner, but also his Dad's love for his son and his best friend, Cliff, and there were multiple gifts. The unconventional one was the pendant that Zach's dad had made for Cliff, which he then gave to Zach, as well as the similar pendant that Zack had made for Tanner. There was also the unconditional gift of love and the way his mom and dad showed it to him, even knowing he was gay. BTW, I don't know if this was a typo, but Mogen David is the company that makes kosher wine, while Magen David is the term used for the Star of David.
  19. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for the feedback.
  20. W_L, when I began reading this story, I thought It felt the same as the way Charles Dickens began A Christmas Carol, but that feeling didn't last for very long. I soon found the story to take a completely different path, which was sensitive and loving. I also learned a great deal about Chinese culture along the way and found the story to be extremely enjoyable. The use of technology in bringing Jake and Joey together after Jake's untimely demise was fascinating, although I'm still leary of the role AI might, or should, play in the future of humanity.
  21. I agree. A lot of science fiction that was written in the past has now become science fact, so maybe this will as well. I'm glad you enjoyed this story and I thnk you for the feedback and the review.
  22. Thank you. I'm glad you enjoy this little tale, and thank you for the feedback and the review.
  23. Yes, it was fanciful and far fetched and I didn't expect any of my readers to believe it was actually possible, but it would be nice if something like this could actually happen. Maybe one of the dreamers can figure out a way to make it a reality. Thank you for the feedback.
  24. Yes, Chandler looking at the boys picking on him as friends and thinking they were just horsing around might have relieved some of the pressure, but I believe down deep it still left an emotional scar. Thank you for the feedback.
  25. Yes, bullying is a problem that needs a solution, and this was just my way to solve the problem for two young boys. I decided to name the puppy Sampson because he would be strong enough to help the boys out, and I'll have to check and see if the first mention of him was spelled Simpson - if so, I, my editors, and the proof team all missed it. Thanks for the feedback.
