    Miguel first contacted me about my story, Castaway Hotel, and we communicated often via email. I'd even met with him in person, along with his bf at the time. I offer my condolences to his family and friends that he left behind.

    I think we all read this in school. A very touching story. I think we were all a little shocked by how she portrayed Atticus in her second story that only came out recently. She was a very private person and stayed out of the limelight, so may she rest in peace now.

    Seeing they'd visited there previously, there was no way I could omit it now. I just hoped it wouldn't evoke horrible memories for those who'd been closely affected by that day. Thanks for the continued feedback.

    Fae, maybe I didn't go into it as well as I should have, but Pat had shown previously that he was going to make the best of a bad situation and not complain. The operation restored his sight in one eye, so he was doing the best he could with that. As far as his scars, it was part of a very large group and was able to use them to shield himself from others, so not many others noticed his situation. Thanks for the feedback and I'll try to remember this if I ever do a rewrite.
