  1. Well... its that time of year again. My sister and I both attend the same college, which is very close to my Grandmother's house. She hurt herself a few weeks ago, and needed help with prepping for dinner. So here I am, on an air mattress in the middle of the living room. Gran's dog snores like a beast. Thanksgiving is the first example of my family's dysfunction. By Christmas I'll be asking if I was adopted. I hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow! Eat lots, and remember your blessings! -AM
  2. Aw... I was going to do this, but I like to use college as an excuse, and November is always a busy part of the semester. I do have a friend who is about 5,000 words away from completing. Though, she's also got the freetime. I want to do it next year though. I think it would be a good challenge, and if I started right away, there's no reason I couldn't make it!
  3. I was so excited when I saw this! One of my first memories of movie going was seeing Star Trek:Generations when I was very young. I remember there was a costume contest, and a mini-convention at the movie theater. I still have the movie poster from it!
  4. AHHHH! I've just found this story, and I'm falling in love with it. I haven't had any good Star Trek fic in a long time... but now I do. Of course, now I have to go about updating my knowledge. It's been a long time...
  5. Aw, I love it when updates surprise me! The problem is that they always seem to occur when I'm super busy, and then I can't keep up with the updates. Sad life, no??
  6. Ok... So, I know that this is the spot reserved for "New Members"... but I feel as if I've been away long enough that I might as well be! I'm loving the new look of the site! And Happy to be back!
  7. I cannot remember if this was mentioned already, (I don't think it was...) But I thought SHELTER was a great movie. Good story line, happy ending. All that jazz.
  8. Aw, i liked that article. Reminds me of my friend. (Who is actually Abigail in AWAH.) So yay for that.
  9. Well, it's been a while, so I figured I should do this again. AND because my frienda and I had a moment of vanity, and decided to play around with the camera.
  10. Well, it didn't take me three months this time.... Chapter 6 is up and ready for all you lovelies to read! AWAH- Chapter 6
  11. Hey there! Thanks for the comment! It really means a lot! -AM
  12. The only time I've ever been close to getting caught was when I was making out with a boy in my dorm room last year. We heard the key in the lock, and thankfully had enough time to get situated. BUT! I totally walked in on my roommate last year. He was at his computer desk with a website full of boobs. Let's just say I saw more of him than I ever planned on seeing. Of course, had he actually locked the door, this could have all been avoided. lol
  13. Um, yeah, i'd say Danny's pretty fab. He's wearing a scarf in the promo pic, and all his little quotes have "!!!" at the end of them... hahahaha. EDIT: LOOK AT HIS VIDEO!!! hahahaha. so many wrist movements, so little time... And he's just so EXCITED! http://www.americanidol.com/videos/?vid=894
  14. I've always known about this discrimination... it's kind of sad. At the same time, the most hardcore Boy Scouts I know are all rampant homos... so that's a little interesting to think about. I remember getting the flyers when I was in elementary school, and always wanting to join. But at the time I lived out in the middle of nowhere, and it would have been hard for my parents to take me in to the meetings... I'm probably better off from the looks of it.
  15. This has all been very interesting. As for me.... well, i'm still one of those hopeless "waiting till marriage/legal/emotional equivilent" type of people. But who knows, someone may come along who changes my mind.
  16. It's funny, becuase if I would have come across this poll while i was still in high school my answers would have been completely different. Back then, the vast majority of my friends were all theatre kids. That meant girls, and the handful of boys involved. Sure, there were one or two straight ones, but even those who swore heterosexuality in high school ended up at LEAST bicurious in college. Now, however, I have to say I have a surprising amount of straight guy friends. Its just something that happened. One day I found myself just talking to a bunch of them in the dorm den, and we just sort of clicked. The was really interesting, because I knew they liked girls, they knew I liked guys... There was never any tension. It was just a really nice feeling. After the transfer to a different school, I didn't know what to expect. But I have to say that the same thing happened. Of course, they're all the more liberal and accepting straight guys. But that's to be expected. Anyway, that's my story.
  17. As a person who's pretty interested in medical ethics, and stuff like that... I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. It sure sounds promising though. I guess we'll just have to see what more research finds. Very interesting to think about though...
  18. Oh that was such a good reminder... thanks for posting this. I have to remember to pick up my bulldozer from the shop.... the paint got scratched while running over that last church. AND the communion wine left a big stain on the interior. *sigh*
  19. I'm honestly not surprised, A&F are known for their questionable photos. Which is why you have to be 18 to pick up their catalog... because it's not about selling clothes. This picture is actually one of their, erm, more tasteful ones. Still, i can't believe they thought they could get away with plastering that up on a store wall. (Of course, I think the picture is pretty great myself)
  20. That is a fantastic looking cake!
  21. Well, I've never actually seen anything "On Broadway", but i've seen quite a few touring shows. And I've been in a ton of stuff. My favorite I've seen is the touring production of Miss Saigon. It. Was. Awesome.
  22. Actually, we got totally snowed in here, so dance lessons were cancelled... But I did get a nice dinner at home, so that was good. Thanks again everyone!!
  23. Hey Happy Birthday! I hope everyone's real nice to you... or something. haha.
  24. Hey! Thanks everyone! Yeah... 20. I still can't believe it. haha. I get to spend the evening at dance lessons.... with my mother. My dad's away on business, so I have to take his place. SOOOOO not what I wanted to do. Ah well. Thanks again!
  25. Neil Gaiman right? The book is supposed to be amazing.
