  1. You, man of little faith! Do believe in the Evil Power of The Goat!
  2. I was not, but now that you've said it... The person below me has a fun, creative afternoon ahead.
  3. Yes, this makes Brandon look not as a venial character. But as I put it before, his interest come from the fan factor more than from an attraction to money. Though once the show gets going, he'll have more concerns over the running of things, I would imagine. I was aware of this too. I expect our author to have the father behave like some jerk and not be happy about Clump being sacked ("What is a little heroin addiction compared to the abomination Chase shamelessly revels in?"). What I meant is that Helen apparently has some say in hiring a new singer, and that she should have had a checklist of legal/ money issues and come up with solutions right away. BUT this is a fiction, written by an evil author who likes to jeopardize his poor characters. How could you imagine such a thing?
  4. Brandon is definitely a good guy. The three brothers could have paid a little more attention to his situation, and made it clear he could crash at the hotel after the party. At least they're getting a bit more aware of the crew's situation thanks to Brandon's. Is it really work ethics? Getting to become the front man for your favorite band is not like taking up any job, so you'd do anything for the position in the beginning. I hope Helen tightens the bolts a bit on the whole business stuff, so the guys can focus on creative stuff, and let her fire Gabe, who doesn't end up being the hero as I first thought. Something came to my mind about a lot of Helen's reactions: in her job, and since she's rather bossy, she should just call a meeting to announce her decisions. I mean, it would be less fun for us readers, but professionally better if she handled the Brandon situation all on her own. I think fronting a few hundreds of dollars for clothing is no problem for her, and if Brandon is accommodated and fed, he may sure wait for a bit before he gets a paycheck. As for the Scar, is he some kind of restaurant magazine reviewer?
  5. Thanks a lot for all these kind words, wishes and cakes, Ladies and Gents! It's quite heartwarming, and I had an average OK birthday.
  6. I found this chapter heartwarming myself. I smiled all the way through, and Jacob coming home and the epilogue picnic were once again evocative and made me both happy about how it ended and sad of having to part with them. (Can The Goat stand to have softy minions who cry at a happy ending? ) I hope that you don't suffer from story-ending trauma, Steve, and that you'll get enamored with another set of characters that you can bring to life for us as well as you did in this story.
  7. Way to go, Bob!
  8. Professing so much he's not evil, this would remove all doubt. And a bunch of Born-Again Gays would certainly not be clich
  9. For The Love of God? With a full cast of Born-Again Christians characters? Chris and Steve converting the heathens in Hawaii, and Rick working out a scheme to have a legal, tax-free, money-making operation that puts Eric's out of business?
  10. Really nice chapter; h
  11. Mmmhh... Maybe a birthday cake is NOT in order. Happy Birthday, India! Long life and prosperity to all of its inhabitants.
  12. Congratulations, Bardeara!
  13. Funny, this is the only post mentioning Deadwood. We've grown to be big HBO series fans, since we get them on DVD, non-dubbed, and they make good shows, with excellent writers, that don't cater to an extremely wide audience, with adult stuff, and I don't mean just the sex. I just got done watching the first two seasons of Deadwood, and it's excellent fiction. It's well written, well acted, and though it's not completely new compared to movies made in the 70s, it's quite fresh for a TV show. To be rented at your local video store or DVD online rental service.
  14. Mmmh... I'd say the BeaStKid had Pakistan's date of independence on his mind because he's living 293 miles from the Pakistani Capital. And he seems to be a man of peace, whereas he lives close to the border of two rival countries with nuclear weapons. Nice one, there, BeaStKid. So he might not post the day of independence of countries of no significance to him or other important groups of members. For instance, he forgot the commemoration of Bastille Day in July, this glorious day when a mob lynched the governor of the royal jail and a few of his henchmen and paraded around the city with his head on a spike.
  15. J, if it's the Tommy Lee Jones character. He kicks butt. Never hit the little red button. The Lost Ark or the Last Crusade?
  16. I told lies, and will again. Though honesty and sincerity are of some value, total honesty and sincerity would make this world a living hell. The person below me likes watching series on DVDs.
  17. Yes, there's no pic of the "Goats only" sign at the entrance door. The poor guy who had to cater to all the party animals had quite a lot of work, so had you been there, you'd have brought the cabbages and the salt blocks to them, as the poor guy on the pic.
  18. I don't see Shadowgod as the King of Evil cliff-hangers. He's been the one master of a supra-mean one at the end of 26. Otherwise, it's all your average cliff-hanger, the one prompting you into wanting to read the next chapter. But he may be deemed the King of having us waiting for the next chapter, that's for sure.
  19. Congratulations, CJ. Here is an exclusive pic of the party that was held following the new site's opening:
  20. One novel unfinished! These are good news, and hijacking CJ's thread for the announcement is delighfully evil, SoCal way!
  21. OK, so all the pro-Ericers had their little moment of glory, and I now stand humbled because he happens to save the lives of many. I have to admit defeat and apologize for all the nasty things I said about Eric. It would be good if Chris did too, since he strongly led us into believing Eric was unredeemable. I'd say the little good he had in him eventually was brought to life. And some obvious self-interest at getting out of the mess he'd gotten into to follow higher spiritual callings. It seems evangelism is in the genes after all. Fine ending. In your footnotes, the following caught my eyes: Does this mean there will be more chapters of For the Love, as another great marketing ploy?
  22. A bj? I have no clues what you imply, dear sir... But a new chapter would be nice.
