Yeah! I do hehe, but I am still an amateur swimmer. I will probably never learn freestyle. *sigh*, hehe.

Swimming has paid off! Now I'm walking with a single crutch!!! After those painful years of walking with crutches, I'm proud to say that I'm improving (for now), hehe! Oh, and I got a new camera phone!!

In case you haven't heard, Hiroshima No Pika won the Jane Addams Children's Book award. LOL, and it is not "a cheery story of nuclear devastation". Really. I read that book as a pre-teen (a present from my aunt) and I was really emotional after reading it. I guess the book was intended for a (primarily) Japanese audience. The story's about a Japanese woman's (a hibakusha, I assume) struggle after the the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. With that said, however, I do think that some of the illustrations are graphic for children (but, that sets the mood for the story). Michael Swaim took this story out of context when he said "“Men from the sky can kill us, our friends and our family at any time. Also, f***America.” That is not the message of the story. Sorry guys, that book should not be on that list. There are other books that should not be on that list, like "Sometimes My Mommy Gets Angry". Although I haven't read it yet, it talks about parents suffering with bipolar disorder, and how a child is supposed to deal with it. It's like a self-help fiction book. There are really good reviews for that book as well. However, I do agree with everyone that "Alfie's House" should be on that list.

If you notice, the grammar is a little off: there is a shift from "present tense" to "past tense". I have much to say about this .

I want to thank Tiff, Revol, Pete (Yap) and BK for their exceptional edits! Lastly, I also want to thank David McLeod for his marvelous edits. He's a great teacher/ mentor!!!! He gives really great advices! More importantly, he's an awesome, caring friend, and someone that I think I can emulate from in real life!

I'm just saying: don't categorize yourself for who you are or the person who is going to love you. It's really trivial in a relationship. If he loves you and really wants to spend his life with you, then be happy. Don't expect more or try to figure out what his sexual orientation is. Anyways, there has to be a strong mutual connection and love between the two of you before you move up the ladder and consider yourselves boyfriends .

Haha, I really don't care about the ethnicity, built or whatnot of that person. Personally, it's a little ridiculous to go for someone who looks "hot" or "cute" without considering his or her personality. I think that, in this world, appearance really triumphs everything and "talents" or "personalities" are overshadowed. Look at Susan Boyle from Britain's got talent. When she said she hadn't experienced love, I was crying in front of my TV. Another example would be my previous dates: When I dated a Japanese guy, no one made any comment. But, when I dated a White guy, people started labeling me 'potato queen'. I just hope I can find someone caring enough in this cutthroat world. I like people who are empathic to their surroundings. I dislike swearing a lot, believe it or not. I love to experience different cultures . I'd love it for that person to make me laugh. I guess if you're in a relationship, what matters the most would be whether you click with that person or not. Your love for that person should not be undermined by his physical appearance, background, or education. Then again, maybe I'm a little too passive, haha. Also, who really cares if that person is bi or not. If you love each other, and you really do want to share your life with each other, his/her sexual orientation would not even matter to you. It's all about love, people ! It's all about love, not sexuality. It's perfectly OK to have preference, but don't let that dominate the preference of others. Last but it's perhaps the most important: I really hope that person does not judge me based on my physical limitation. I really want to lean on someone for support, even though I can manage life independently as well. I've been swimming a lot! But, can you imagine the reactions I get when I walk with my crutches to the swimming pool? HAHA. Cheers and good luck people! Jovian

OMG! She's my inspiration! Seriously! Society is too quick to judge a person based on his or her physical appearance; such discrimination obscures talents, such as Boyle's. Talents, not physical appearances, are priceless. According to psychologists, a person is able to form an opinion on anyone based on his or her appearance for the first 15 seconds. She's not just amazing, but she's like what Holden said, "the biggest wake up call ever." Her voice was sensational and truly amazing - perhaps even beyond that realm of 'sensational' in the near future. I'm sure a lot of feminists will have something to say about her.

NOOO!!!!! I just read off imdb.com that Hollywood has already started filming a remake of the Japanese film "Hachikō Monogatari" (a true story about a dog who was remembered for his loyalty to his master in Japan). It sounds very odd and weird to me to have an Americanized version of a national and well-known Japanese film. The dog remains a national icon in Japan (especially Shibuya), and it's disappointing (well at least to a weird me) to have a Hollywood version of it. I'll hate to think if people get the wrong impression that the film is fictitious or if it does not acknowledge the real story of Hidesaburō Ueno (the master) and the real dog. LOL, I'm hyped about this! hehehe

No wonder horror movies such as "Friday the 13th" and "my bloody valentine 3D" are getting popular this coming week haha. The day where everything goes wrong comes before the day where love blossoms. hehehe Maybe I'm being superstitious about the year 2009 haha, (*slaps myself on the forehead* - me, a superstitious Mormon...) but the first thing I did after midnight on 1st Jan 2009 was take cough drops, a flu shot and medication.
