    The plague.

Aww, thanks kev! Still haven't been to the doctor. I think I have a small irrational fear of the doctor. It's only when I get really scared that I go. Ugh, but today I had to go to work, and I was only there for 3 hours, and it was seriously the longest, most painful experience ever. bleghhhhhhhh. i hope this passes soon.
  2. yay, happy bday! have a great one!
  3. I stop talking to them completely. I've tried staying friends, but that just doesn't work.
  4. Of course, after reading this I just had to head on over and take a listen. I was totally expecting a really deep voice, and for some odd reason, it didn't occur to me that you would have an australian accent, even though you are from australia. I quite enjoyed it, your voice is full of expression, and I love your accent!
  5. hahaha, now THAT is romantic. Care to describe this hustler outfit you were wearing? *stern look* i kid. sorta. Well at least you have luck on your side, right? The same thing kind of happened to me, except both of their names weren't Adam, and he was too nice a guy to correct me.
  6. I think Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks deserve winning the title. Both didn't impress me in the competition, but when their albums came out, they delivered as artists, not gimmicks. I fell in love with their songs because they were catchy, and it wasn't until it was pointed out that they were from american idol that I realized it.

    The plague.

I was sick a couple weeks ago, and just when I was getting better, I caught another bug. Only thing is, this one is far worse. I haven't been to work for my last two shifts, and I've been stuck in bed since Wednesday. I never miss work. If I have a cough, or just don't feel all that good, I usually just suck it up and go to work anyway. I don't even know what I have. I'm constantly dizzy, my head is pounding, and I'm hot and cold at the same time. Last night, I was freezing, and I would put a blanket around me and then wake up drenched, but as soon as I took the blanket off, it felt as if I was being jabbed by icicles. I was too hot to leave it on, and too cold to leave it off. I feel like I'm constantly taking something either for the flu symptoms i seem to be having or the headache that won't go away. Ugh. I'm sick of not being able to do anything, there's soooo much that I have to do by next week. Papers to write, midterms to study for, birthdays to plan... My head hurts, my nose is stuffed, I have a fever, and I feel pathetic. blah. ...and I really just want him to call. I hate being sick. It makes me feel so needy and dependent.
  8. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great one!
  9. Oh my goodness, I just watched David Archuleta's performance... I think he's gay. Regardless of whether he is or not, I can't believe how blatantly Ryan Seacrest was FLIRTING with him after the judges gave their two cents!
  10. Eh, I don't think so. I find "America's Best Dance Crew" to be wildly entertaining.
  11. Hate to break it to you guys, but this has nothing to do with gaydar. The guy is gay, and yes, everyone can tell. haha I like him though, he seems interesting. Kind of reminds me of William Sledd.
  12. haha when I read Kevin's question, I was debating over whether I should post and say what I would honestly do, then I saw Krista and Menzo do it for me. Flirting is just easiest in that scenerio. I think saying it if you don't feel it would be really damaging in the end, and saying "thank you" is pretty much the most painful thing you could respond with. Well, perhaps laughing at them would be more painful... Regardless, you don't want to belittle what they have to say to you, and you also don't want them to become disheartened if you feel like it's just too soon.
  13. I bought a tuxedo heart from See's Candy which is really cute, it even has a little vest! haha, and I actually have something that matches it pretty closely, so I was thinking of buying one red balloon as well, for the cuteness factor. i was a little hesitant at first of buying chocolates when we passed by Sees, but it was playful enough and kind of plays into an inside joke that we have as well, so i think i minimized the cliche-ish-ness of it. lol
  14. I'm pretty much the same way as Menzo, except I've never said it to a guy before. I did say it to my first girlfriend, and I do love her, just not romantically. I feel like it would be hard for me to say it at first because I don't want to be one of those people that just throws it out in EVERY relationship they're in. That's one of my biggest pet peeves. I just don't believe that's love. For me, it's something that's special and rare and incredibly meaningful, and until I'm sure that is what it is, it's not coming out of my mouth (at least to a significant other).
  15. James, that was priceless. haha
  16. I tend to form better friendships with straight girls than gay people. Although I've met a lot of gay guys in college, I can really only call one of them a friend. He's one of my best friends, though, even if we do have a history.
  17. I completely agree.
  18. Thanks, everyone! It was definitely the best birthday I've ever had.
  19. I TOTALLY agree with your dating etiquette. There's not really much I can add, I agree with it all. What kev said. lol
  20. I enjoyed this response oh-so-much. He's definitely flirting. I say flirt back, get to know him better, but wait for him to initiate anything beyond that. It seems like he will anyway, at the rate he's going. He sounds like a sweet guy. Good luck!
  21. Happy Bday!! Hope it's a good one. yay Aquarius.
  22. I've never seen them before, or the show for that matter, but they are both incredibly hot! GEEZ. lol, but the clip was cute. I think I just developed a huge crush on both of them.
  23. I really enjoyed it.
  24. ENFP. I can live with that.

    In the end

...only kindness matters. These are words to live by. People are not inherently kind. We're a twisted, complicated bunch. We hurt others. We disappoint others. We always believe that the hurt we cause is greatly out-weighed by the hurt we go through. I don't think this is the case. But I think it's okay to hurt. It's a part of life, a learning experience that spurs empathy and helps us reevaluate our circumstances. Does this mean we should hurt others to help them grow and mature? Absolutely. I kid. It takes much more strength and effort to make someone feel special than it does to hurt them. Effort. That is what so many of us lack. But it's needed to be kind. And in the end, that really is all that matters.
