Lukas know he was the original from which other constructs were made, He was transferred to the longeity project. He was able and so skilled that he killed 12 versions of himself without remorse, He knew they would kill him and his friends, The copies were not as smart or aware as the original. Ashot has risen to the right moment. The constable under a flag of truce was murdered and this murder says the Turks will not negotiate or surrender. The crusaders need another option. Ashot is giving them one and tells Darien of his plan. Ashot sneaks into the city and find the armorer. The man agrees to lower a leather ladder at a certain spot to let the crusaders in. Ashot promises him gold and safety for himself and family. It looks like this plan will work for the crusaders. Let us hope they can act on it and find a way to open a gate to let more crusaders inside.

Noah is crushed, Shiloh was upset that he did not tell him the full story, Tristan earlier let him know what had happened Shiloh left quickly. Noah cried and cried. They are no longer a couple. If Ishan has this level of power to control the weather, will he be asked to create more rain, fog, etc. to aid the crusaders and impair the Turks when they attack the city? The weather could help force the surrender. Will Rhasid and Khalid and Wylan/Ishan stay to the end? Will they all live and be hostages?

Wylan/Ishan's cry that the rain and ending of the heavy calvary charge was God's will had to unsettle and discourage Khalid and the Turks. No one considers he had anything to do with the weather disaster. The Turks knew that their last major offensive force was no longer effective and they had to see it will be inevitable that the crusaders will take the city. I do wonder what huge device the crusaders were erecting.

Raith and Azula finally meet. Yulin is healed. Raith told Azula what happened and went over his five years of hell fighting against the evil courtier while protecting the Sura Clan. Thank you for Book 2 in a series, Graeme and Sam conducted a successful investigation. Sam learned quite a bit. They both faced danger and survived. Sam spoke openly about his deep feeling for his knight. They both are growing closer together and helping each other become healthier This was an encouraging story of two interesting people.
