  1. Rod is turning out to be a more complex character than he first appeared, when he could have been written off as simply a hating gay adolescent. Then we find he has remorse and is trying to balance friendship with ingrained beliefs. This is accompanied by insights into his dysfunctional family background. Intellectually he comes to accept that his friends can be gay but when his is confronted by the reality over dinner, his emotions and ingrained beliefs take over, resulting in him self medicating with alcohol. Lets hope he recovers and seeks proper help and support.

    Under the Bridge

Quote: Some events were mundane, but some were worth writing about. It would also be nice to know if they found success and happiness in Key West, Come on @chris191070, we want to know all. From the mundane to success and especially happiness and the adventures worth writing about. Keep it coming.
  3. Thank you @Valkyrie for posting the completed stories. It was a fun activity with great prompt. I'm looking forward to the the next one.
  4. Yes, I get the impression that Domenico is going "out" himself and be "out" at school. How many will follow his example?
  5. I have problems with this: "I don't think you should assume anything about Domenico's frame of mind when he comes back. He'll be learning ways to deal with his problems, and more specifically, his sexual orientation. He may very well accept it and no longer be afraid of people finding out." Dr Paulson just outed Domenico to Rod (of all people) without permission and without knowing if Domenico would be comfortable with 'people finding out'. It is both a breach of confidentiality and professional misconduct. Hopefully things will work out for the better despite this. The hospital have been excellent in helping Domenico.

    Chapter 11

They say every cloud has a silver lining and this chapter is hinting at that for Neil, his family and close friends. His mother and Jack visiting Brian and Dwight points to acceptance and Brian becoming more involved with his growing children. Great potential for bringing the families together. Alex is working on matchmaking that could be positive for himself, Sammy, Neil and Gerry. Gerry has already been "noticing" Neil so he is more interested than he admits. Brian going to see the Principal should bring about important changes to the school's response to bullying. Yes Ned has to do more than just warn his friends about Lucas. Lucas being caught by the police a second time might make that Judge take his desire not to live with his uncle seriously.
  7. Thanks @drpaladin. Pipis are about half that size, but obviously the same type of clam. Maybe a slightly different species. Now I'll just say good night and clam up.
  8. Thank you, I gather that quathogs are like oysters but instead of clinging to rocks they live, and try to live very long lives, in the ocean sediment. Having no idea of their size, I wonder if they are like the shellfish pipis in Australia. They live under the sand in the tidal foreshore of our beaches.
  9. Here, as a simple Australian, I'm going to profess total ignorance regarding the word quahog and the hopefully delicious clam it names. I seek enlightenment regarding the word, the clam and the relevant tribes.

    Chapter 7

Thank you for commenting and yes, fate is a character in this story. A minor correction; Adam was 18 when he was killed and Jordan was 20.

    Chapter 8

Thank you for reading and commenting. The working title when I started writing this was, in fact, Fate.

    Chapter 4

Yes @Daddydavek, it does seem that Jordan has some demons associated with beaches or this beach in particular. Keep reading.

As I indicated above, the internet has allowed this area of child abuse to flourish. Its extent is often surprising.

    Chapter 1

As you say @empath Joshua has to learn to trust the people who are now in his life and that will not be easy. Importantly he will have to trust enough to report what he knows. We are just starting this journey.

    Chapter 1

Thank you @Summerabbacat. The world has moved on and the internet has spawned a whole new world of child abuse, which allows it to be fed into homes around the world. More to be revealed in future chapters.

    Hope you enjoy it
  22. So right @drpaladin. Bacillus Cereus is a common cause of mild to serious food poisoning leading to vomiting at one end or diarrhea at the other end or worse. It is commonly associated with food that has been left out at room temperature for too long. A common culprit is boiled (or steamed} rice that has been left out and not refrigerated. Re-cooking will not kill the toxins produced. Australian food standards for food warn against cooked food being at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
  23. After revealing to each other that Adam had “spoken” to them Jordan and Joshua each lapsed into their own world of silence as they finished their breakfast. Cameron, acutely aware of their need for self-reflection, did not interrupt. They all cleared up after finishing breakfast and moved to the sofa and sat together, reluctant to speak. Cameron cautiously decided that it was his role to take charge, but it had to be done with understanding and compassion. He gently asked, “Josh, what did A
  24. This story continues after Part 1 and it is recommended that you read that first. Joshua’s disclosures reveal a deeper societal problem. We follow Jordan, Cameron and Joshua as they combine to reveal what is happening while supporting and seeking justice for Joshua. As Joshua rebuilds his life he rediscovers love and family.

    Chapter 1

Yeap, that's a recipe for what we call scones. We eat them with butter (or whipped cream) and jam (similar to American jelly). Served with a cup of tea or coffee, it's referred to as "Devonshire Tea"
