  1. It goes against mine too. Eating a brain is out of the question. However, if the Spanish want to...
  2. In Spain, they cook the goat's head, split it open, and serve it for breakfast.
  3. Neither do Tigers. I look forward to the new one, by the way.
  4. You know why they are not being posted. Besides, poems are personal therapy. They're for me. If people asked for them privately, I would probably let them (depending on who they were).
  5. I sometimes write poetry. Sometimes it's anger, other times sad or a combination of the two. Regardless it is great therapy for me. One a side note, sometimes I do not post the poems in e-fiction, because they are too personal.
  6. Yeah, some sweat is good. Other times it just means you need a clothing pin over your nose.
  7. Happy birthday, Celia.
  8. Lugh, the good thing is that there are so many types of stories to read. Yours are rather unique. I, for one, am definitely a huge fan of your poetry. I also know that for me there are die-hard fans who can't get enough of my stories. At the end of the day, that makes me feel better about what I do.
  9. Good grief. Those girls should be spayed. It definitely makes me like being gay just a little bit more. I know that if I have a kid it will be planned, and I will have a say.
  10. What do you expect? Sure, Steve occasionally writes an evil cliffhanger, but even he will admit to your superiority. I've asked him.
  11. Happy Birthday, Viv. I hope you have a wonderful day.
  12. I wouldn't mind more feedback personally, even if a reader doesn't like it. The audience for a series like Dark Earth may not be the same crowd that's into teen stories. However, there is some readership, so it would be nice. Anyway, I'm not going to sulk about it. There are a lot of other possible problems that could be much worse.
  13. That was Shadowgod's line.
  14. Happy birthday, John. Keep in mind that in Australia, it is already your birthday.
  15. It certainly was. I think we should do it again some time.
  16. That's a great idea actually. I'm not sure if there's a way to calculate that except in Word when it's in a .doc format. Thus any author submitting it in HTML would definitely need to use the feature and make sure the word count is in the email.
  17. Mary Chapin Carpenter "I Am a Town" I'm a town in Carolina, I'm a detour on a ride For a phone call and a soda, I'm a blur from the driver's side I'm the last gas for an hour if you're going twenty-five I am Texaco and tobacco, I am dust you leave behind I am peaches in September, and corn from a roadside stall I'm the language of the natives, I'm a cadence and a drawl I'm the pines behind the graveyard, and the cool beneath their shade, where the boys have left their beer cans I am weeds between the graves. My porches sag and lean with old black men and children Their sleep is filled with dreams, I never can fulfill them I am a town. I am a church beside the highway where the ditches never drain I'm a Baptist like my daddy, and Jesus knows my name I am memory and stillness, I am lonely in old age; I am not your destination I am clinging to my ways I am a town. I'm a town in Carolina, I am billboards in the fields I'm an old truck up on cinder blocks, missing all my wheels I am Pabst Blue Ribbon, American, and "Southern Serves the South" I am tucked behind the Jaycees sign, on the rural route I am a town I am a town I am a town Southbound.
  18. Happy Birthday and good luck with the muse!
  19. Jamie, that guy looks hot. I definitely prefer a guy to have a hairy chest. It's a lot more appealing to me. As for tv, they do show some hairy guys at times. I often have to pick my eyes off the floor and clean up some drool.
  20. That's great, Benji!
  21. I'm celebrating the completion and posting of my first novel. I am also reviving this thread.
  22. I have just posted the final chapter of Dark Earth: The Prophecy. You can find it here. I also realize how some readers only like to read complete novels, and here it is from the beginning. For those who have not read it, I have a brief discussion of major characters and my motivations as an author. Imagine a world where the sun never shines and there is a constant threat of death. Dark Earth: The Prophecy is my first completed novel, and I loved exploring this world and bringing it to life. Julian, the main character in the story, has extraordinary power, and he is only eighteen. His whole life has been shrouded in mystery to him, and he has no idea just how powerful he really is. Additionally, he has grown up without his mother, and his aunt and uncle have hidden a lot from him. As he discovers the truth about his past and his power, he struggles to accept who he really is. Cristobel has similar circumstances as his brother and his brother
  23. Jan, that could be something to do with the goat in his real life. As authors, we often leave pieces of ourselves in our stories. This is probably an example of that. Now, I must say that I disagree with YaP. I happen to like serials, and there is no way I would want to wait to read it, because his stories are too much fun to read, including the evil cliffhangers. When there was an evil cliffhanger in Chapter 19, I defended its usage while others were angry.
  24. Oops, I fixed it, but he was cruel to Brandon as well. I mean... the love of his life was kidnapped. Only the goat is capable of such evil as far as I know.
  25. I happen to think it is a good idea. People can have a general idea about what they are about to read. This could potentially increase readership.
