To everyone in the US, Happy Thanksgiving, Turkey-Day, or whatever you like to call a day, where Gluttony is King For my T-Day, I am preparing : Meat: 13 pound Turkey, 8 pound Beef Loin, and 12 Links of Italian Seasoned Pork Sausage. Sides: Chicken Broth cooked Stuffing Mashed Potatoes with Garlic and light cheddar (Mash Potato mix, I don't want to waste time boiling, then mashing real Potatoes like last year) Sweet Corn (From a can, sue me I don't know how to find good Sweet Corn at a discount ) Cranberry Sauce (Also from a can) French Bread (Store Bought and really nice right now) Soup du Jour: Spinach, Carrots, and Mushrooms with honey ham in a both of Chicken and Beef to add a little more flavor Anyone else want to show their meal plan (I hope someone will attempt Fried Turkey, but please don't burn down your house in the process, I have heard horror stories about that. Is there anyway to create an artificial Egg using the sample of genetic material from sperm? I've heard of eggs being fertilized without sperm, which is cool, but I wonder if there's such a line of research going on. I know some people will expect explosions and gun battles (Those will happen later), but most data-based investigations are inconclusive until you can find common threads or links. Despite the advances in technology, deductive reasoning as seen on CSI, NCIS, or Criminal Minds based on hard evidence alone is not enough. I am introducing a genre concept for GA writers and readers, Abductive Reasoning. Detective stories and their characters derive ideas from inductive reasoning or deductive reasoning in most cases, like Sherlock Holmes. Abductive reasoning is an old concept that is also a good juncture between Computer science and Law, so I hope you guys enjoy my simple reference into it with Hunter's thought process. There are logical issues with this kind of thinking, which was why it has been neglected in favor of the other two in popular TV shows, but in practice, it can work as a good theoretical basis of computer software issues in programming (Basically Computer experts like Hunter use this kind of logic to explain bugs in their programming by deriving a likely cause). As for the personal facts, Hunter is a complex guy, he isn't just your ordinary computer geek stereotype. His relationship with Ryan was formative and unique to a degree that few of us will ever share. Being gay does not guarantee you a partner, who honestly loves you or who can complement you. Jeremy and Evan are an example of that kind of relationship. Benji and Kevin represent the weird quandary that we have between friendship and partner, some gay guys, me included, have bonds and sex with people we love, but who we know will never be our partners, because we can't commit to them. Is that a bad thing? Not always if both parties understand that fact, but it is an honest reflection of LGBT community, where we are trying to find the one, usually in vain. Last point, then I will stop yammering, this chapter introduces some important elements for the next 6 chapters of the story. This is the Eye of the storm, it seems calm and serene, but shit will hit the fan soon from multiple directions. A fight against fundamentalist faction in Christianity is not going to be Hunter'sonly problem.

Before the Paris attacks, before our minds and hearts were set ablaze with images of terrorism, the biggest news in the US was 21st Century Racial tensions. I made a thread in the Pit to ask a simple question: I am not doing this to gain attention, not to start an argument or another protest, but I want to know the truth. I am a minority Asian Citizen of the US as well, but I don't understand the racial tension from an African American point of view. There are other things I can talk about in my blog, our economic malaise due to inefficient Democratic leadership from President Obama, the Fractious Republican Party that looks like a 3 ring circus with Donald Trump and Ben Carson as Attraction-in-Chief, and an existential threat from Islamic Terrorism that is staring at us right in the face. However, I think this issue is important, it is important that we talk about who we are to one another as members of a community, an LGBT community which has been the target of bigotry as well as claims of infringements of Religious liberty. I want to hear from other voices, not just people looking to argue and fight, but the voices of our members, who are most affected by racism. I want to thank a GA Member, Drew Espinosa, for pushing me to ask myself, how deeply do I care about this issue? I chose to post this in my blog as a call for answers to this important issue. If all I wanted was an argument, I could just let Zombie go on and we trade thoughts on history, cultures, and interpretations in the Pit, but I'd rather hear real people, not arm chair intellectuals like myself with Big IQ's and too many "real" books in our shelves. This issue cannot get swept away again, it cannot be hidden again by fears or by other news cycle items of our day. Racism persist in a void of voices, don't let it have power by not speaking.

They're new at this and are human. Far too often in this kind of genre of writing, people are too perfect with decisions, sometimes you make good choices and still have issues later. No one has a great strategic plan to defeat fundamentalism; monitoring is all that is possible right now until we can find targets, then when we do find targets, it must be a target that can be attacked or investigated with the lowest resistance. This front of their fight is low hanging fruit and it is easiest to figure out links with evidence violating federal and state law. (Also, it's an area I know a good deal about as I worked in Health Care for 6 years as a Corporate Accountant from both Hospital side and Insurance side.)

This chapter is oddly poignant for today. Kevin is the voice of reason in a unreasonable world; he is shocked to learn how far people are willing to go to win an ideological victory. I wrote this chapter a month and half ago and sent it over to Kitt back in September, just pondering on the notion of Terrorism and ideological motivations behind people. It is fucked up that we live in an era, where some human beings no longer see each other as human. We have become so ideological prompted by leaders and ideals that we forget the basic decency of being human. Where has compassion and honor gone? Beyond the poignant nature of this chapter, I also began a long string of actions that will play a big role in the 1st half of my story. The investigation has begun with many difficult questions in front of our heroes and the affects may not be as they plan.

Definitely one of the Greatest feats of GA writing, it will take you several months to go through it, so if you are like me and stuck in the snowbound in the winter, open it up and grab some hot cocoa.

I didn't see anyone start a thread on this over the summer or even after Lawless made her own pitch for what a new series would look like, so I thought I'd start one and get some fun thoughts. For the kids, Xena Warrior Princess was one of those Campy 90's Fantasy TV series, before LOTR and Harry Potter, we had to suffer through Hercules: The Legendary Adventures and its spin-off Xena Warrior Princess (At least Lawless could act better than Kevin Sorbo). Was Xena a bad show or character? Not really for its time, as a kid I actually idolized Lawless' character; even though I am a guy. She was cool in the type of bad-ass I give a crap type of way. The show also featured the most developed, to that period pre-QAF and L-Word, Lesbian relationship between its main characters. Watching it again, it looks cheesy and campy, but at times, I remember why I liked it, because it had some fun one off stories and arcs. However, I don't know about a reboot, unlike Heroes, X-Files, or even Star Trek with current or in production Reboots, Xena seems sort of "meh". There's some evidence that you should not re-invent an icon, like the latest Peter Pan Movie, "Pan", which is going down as one of the biggest flops of 2015. Xena worked in the 1990's, because it challenged viewers to enjoy the absurdity and the popcorn action without thinking about the plot or impossible sequences (It's like Walker Texas Ranger with a female lead, basically since both series had absurd plots). A modern audience will not be so easily pleased by stuff like that. If you push the lesbian love between Xena and Gabrielle too fast to get ratings, all you will get is softcore porn on Mainstream TV (NBC has run out of ideas, so I won't put it pass them ). Based on the reports so far that the studio still has not chosen writers, it's pretty much open season if you know a studio connection, just send them a pitch script with a reboot idea. Personally, if you want a serious fantasy story from what I have read on GA, we can handle it better than most of the hacks in Hollywood.

The modern world is so stuffed with information outlets from 24 hour TV News, streaming videos of private citizens, blog entries like this, and even old fashioned paper mediums. However, secrets can be compartmentalized, each piece revealed and opened up as needed to achieve a certain goal. If I were running the CIA, it would be the most logical way to keep secrecy in a free and open society: compartmentalization, segregation of details, and handles for names (probably that's how it really works right now). Yes, I am working on bigger things in this story down the road that you guys probably can imagine in a million different ways by how I used overt reference to Turing's contribution to the field of Counter Intelligence (one of the first great Computer Scientist was also the father of Modern Counter-intelligence) and media manipulation. You learn a lot more about Hunter as an underdog, who is willing to compromise his beliefs and ideals, if it means bringing his foes to justice. Hunter is more than just an avenging angel, he's a complex moralist with certain limits that being tested. You are also meeting Ben Jie Long, or "Benji". No that's not my Chinese name, though I know a few guys named Ben, which ironically is their Chinese name as translated weirdly enough. He's one part me and one part an amalgamation of people I know. Loyalty is a character trait he has in excess; it's a cultural thing as well as a bond that he shares with Hunter and Kevin. If you are wondering, Kevin and Benji do enjoy each others company along with a select group of friends, but Hunter is monogamous. The scene of the secret exchange between the friends is going to be repeated. I am going to keep this circle small at first, because in reality, you can't start a covert group of counter operatives without time assembling of resources.
