    Crazy Day

Well. I guess Peyton is Out to his parents then. ;-)
  2. So your proposal for Brother California would be the only regularly shirtless Brother? ;-)
  3. I realize Billy/William is terrified of Coming Out of The Closet, but everyone already suspects that he’s Gay and it really can’t get much worse! He’s so afraid that he hasn’t realized he’s actually living in the worst possible situation where the bigots treat him badly because they believe he’s Gay, but he gets no benefits (like being able to dance with Brett – or even hug or hold his hand)! He hasn’t thought about the half of his life that would immediately start to improve if he were Out! ;-) It’s the same fear most of us face as we teeter on the edge of Coming Out just intensified since his mother already knows (and opposes), he’s grieving his father, and he’s pushed all his friends away.
  4. I know they don’t want to open Pandora’s box, but I’d really like to know what Brother California would look like (child of both Brother America and Brother Mexico?).
  5. Jim Nabors was most famous for his role of Gomer Pyle, originally appearing on The Andy Griffith Show, but was so popular he was given his own show, the spinoff, Gomer Pyle USMC. Contrasting with the bumbling image and annoying speech patterns of that character, he had a rich baritone voice. He was also featured on every season premiere of the Carol Burnett Show. He hosted more than one variety show on TV and guest starred on others. He was good friends with Burt Reynolds who cast him in several of his movies. Since 1976, he had lived on Maui where he had a macadamia plantation. In the ‘70s, Jim Nabors and Rock Hudson were the victims of a homophobic rumor that spread far and wide. Supposedly they got married (at the time illegal everywhere in the US) and Rock Hudson would take the surname of Jim Nabors’ most famous character, Gomer Pyle, and become “Rock Pyle”. It was said to be part of a joke party invitation. Both actors were definitely in The Closet at the time and never spoke to each other again. Jim Nabors was officially married his partner of 38 years, Stan Cadwallader, in Seattle on January 15, 2013. He died in Honolulu on November 30, 2017 and was survived by his husband, Stan.

    Chapter 6

I was wrong, Derek's actually no better than the rest of them.

    Chapter 5

Derek hitting Shane? So not cool. No wonder the kid's so messed up. Even those who do like him, mess him around. Tell him to meet them, and then not show up. Especially after he went to one of their games for them. Doesn't want to be seen with Shane? Sorry to say, but Derek's barely better than the rest.

    Chapter 2

Unfortunately, I differ in view to the previous comments. I do believe that cases of abuse like this do go unnoticed or ignored. I've read the occasional news piece about children going through years of abuse, of this nature.
  9. Matt Smith is scheduled to be a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight (11/30/2017) on ABC. Although it’s possible it’s a different Matt Smith, the alternatives listed on Wikipedia don’t seem likely. But I’m not sure why he’d be on the show now. He doesn’t seem to have any movies or mainstream TV shows to promote (Patient Zero has no release date, it’s too early to start promoting Mapplethorpe, and The Crown doesn’t seem to fit JKL’s demographic).

    Chapter 1

Once again, a story I would have skipped if you hadn’t been the author! Lots of interesting and unusual little details. But having lived only on the Pacific Coast, the only ‘Carmels’ I was familiar with are Carmel-by-the-Sea in Monterey County (lots of boutique-type outlet stores!) and Carmel Valley (I lived in San Diego while growing up). ;-)

    Chapter 2

Neanderthals like Coach Arnold don’t realize the times have changed and their views aren’t shared by others until the beam slams against the back of their heads! ;-)
  12. We also forgot Poland. Poor Poland, Europe’s punchline. And whose offspring were the subject of a whole series of offensive ethnic jokes in the ‘70s in the US.
  13. My parents were children during the Great Depression and also the offspring of immigrants – the combination reinforced and multiplied their opposition to waste. They were incredibly frugal and would not spend money on what they would have seen as frivolous fantasies. They were always focused on the practical. My father was a Protestant minister with a very low salary. It’s one of many reasons I’m an Agnostic. Sorry about the font size, it’s my way of ‘whispering.’

    Chapter 2

At my age, I’m not holding my breath for either of those! ;-)

    Chapter 2

@R. Eric I may joke about Harry, but I’m not at all interested in all the publicity and notoriety involved in being royalty. I’d be more interested in that other common GA fantasy: incredible, but anonymous wealth. I’m not interested in owning planes, boats, multiple mansions, or corporations. I’d be very happy with a moderately-sized home with people to clean and maintain it for me, maybe a chef so I don’t have to cook, but no chauffeur! I do like gadgets and toys though… ;-)

There’s always Sir Ian too! ;-)

    Chapter 20

I’m being misquoted – I never said that! Are you sure you’re not one of those fake news journalists that Donny is always ranting about? Of course, in his case it’s because they have the annoying habit of finding recordings of him contradicting himself! ;-)

Elton & David? Dustin Lance & Tom? John Barrowman & Scott Gill? ;-)

    Chapter 20

Eric has a soapbox and he’s definitely got an opinion to share! His speech on Saturday will definitely cause more than a few people to feel the heat! It might be spoken to Makarovians, but the real audience will be the world! Lizzie doesn’t seem likely to be a relative and Makarovia isn’t a major ally or trading partner. I’m guessing that not only will she not be at the wedding, but neither will Chuckie & Millie or even Willy & Cathy. It seems more like a job for Sexy Harry – even if he does bring that second-rate TV actor with him… ;-) Bitter? I’m not bitter. Disappointed a little, but not bitter! ;-)

    Boogeyman

…and her much better known gold-digger sisters Zsa Zsa and Eva?
  21. Finally noticed that, did you! ;-)
  22. That’s not how you win the War of the Flags! ;-) Besides, that’s what we call you! ;-)
  23. Charger! (Oh, we’re not just randomly calling out names of Dodges?) Greenland is an ‘autonomous constituent country within the Kingdom of Denmark’. It’s not even part of the European Union. It was originally settled by Arctic people from what is now Canada.
  24. In California, we thought that was too boring, so we added the bear! ;-) Actually, the red stripe was added after they realized that the white field might look like a flag of surrender… ;-)
  25. Also Greenland! ;-)
