    Chapter 8

Excellent story, well told. Thank you.

    Chapter 6

"It’s not all the roses it’s cracked up to be.” Ok, I love mixed metaphors. They can be so funny. The two expressions are: It's not all wine and roses. It's not what it's cracked up to be. They are similar in meaning. Enjoying the story!

    Chapter 1

I kind of winced on Zak's behalf when Mr. Jones referred to his "smaller stature". Ouch! Had I been Zak, I would have been headed for the town library. I laughed when Zak's mom said something like, "I see a shovel in your future." Too true when working on a horse farm I suppose. Nice opening chapter. It fold really well. You don't list an editor, but I would have to say it is well edited.

    Audition

Great opening chapter! I enjoy stories involving musicians as well as other "artists" as this always adds an extra dimension to the story. Not knowing much about Iceland, I look forward to learning some things about this country. All the best with this story.

    Chapter 10

Alexi's a mess...again. What's new? Joshua deserved better. This story is depressing me. You must be doing a great job!!
  7. Happy B-Day, Marky!! I'm slow out of the gate....again! Hope your day was great! Seeing that Stuby was involved, I'm sure it was.
  8. Why do authors always go for complicated!!! Gotta' keep those readers coming back, I guess. So Alec knows Simon somehow! Can't wait to get the scoop on that! Great chapter!
  9. Happy B-Day, young dude!!
  10. I am really pleased that Edward is back. He's such a great behind-the-scenes dude. He always seems to bring perspective, not to mention a calming effect. The point on bullying was well done, not overplayed, just right. New characters, too. It's all good. Great chapter.
  11. If you were hoping to leave the reader wondering what's going on for Zack, well you did exactly that. The hook is in but it will take chapter 1 for me to bite down. I suppose I'm also interested in how clueless Sean is. Looking forward to more.

    Fundamental Unity

Remarkable chapter! The eroticism in the early scenes was nicely done. Lots of new information filling several gaps. I like the way Carlos seems to be providing a "grounding" force or role in this chapter as in "Ok, guys, let's get real here!" or something along those lines. He definitely seems to be a character whi is "evolving" as the story proceeds.

Truly a superb story. I enjoyed it immensely. Great characters and super dialogue.

    A Dark Night

How does this violent physical assault and rape advance the plot? It just strikes me that the drama and ita related tesion were already quite high. Now this. I don't get it.
  15. I think I'm going to cheer for the hooded horsemen this time around. I believe they are going to "win" this one. Less angst that way, too. Great to see you back to this story.
  16. Jim Leyland, the Tigers' manager, made a great comment following tonight's game. He was asked if he was concerned about the Giants' momentum after taking 3 straight games in the LCS and now game 1 in the Series. Leyland responed that he didn't believe in momentum. He said momentum is tomorrow's starting pitcher. Great perspective.
  17. While I was rooting for the Giants, I was hoping for a much closer game. I don't believe I've ever watched a game where absolutely everything went in one team's favor. The real kicker was Hunter Pence's hit in the bottom of the 3rd - where the ball hit his bat 3 times as it (the bat) broke apart. There was the suggestion that this messed up Pete Kozma's defensive response on the play with him moving to his right first (just a tad) and then to his left just missing the ball. had Kozma caught that ball, things might well have been different. I was cheering for the Giants as I'm a big Buster Posey fan. Buster didn't do much at the plate in this series. I'm just so impressed with the year he had after coming back from that horrific injury he suffered in 2011. I understand he won the comeback player of the year award for that and he's still in a contender for the MVP award for the NL for 2012. I was happy about Marco Scutaro getting the NLCS MVP award. He certainly earned it. He makes the last out to boot - all part of this "fairy tale" game. I would also say that Mike Matheny warrants consideration when MLB hands out Manager of the year awards. I believe my team, the Blue Jays, is still fighting for the cellar in the AL East with the Red Sox. And the Red Sox just stole our manager.

    Secrets

Excellent chapter! Probably the best one so far. The dialogue was super.
  19. I fail to see the point you are making in pointing out that prejudice and discrimination are very different things. Where you find one, chances are you'll find the other. How did you come to the conclusion that gay rights is pushing itself too fast? What's your yardstick here? What consequence do you see in moving too fast?
  20. Had I been managing the Giants in yesterday's game, I would have had the bullpen going in the bottom of the 2nd inning. As it turned out, it would have been premature...and I hate being premature. Molina singled to lead off the 2nd. Freese doubled. Runners at 2nd and 3rd, no one out. Looks good for the Cards, n'est-ce pas? Zito strikes out Descalso. Kozma is given an intentional walk to load the bases. Which brings Lance Lynn to the plate. Lynn grounds into a double play. That was great baseball.
  21. Adam Wainwright's curveball in Game 4 was just untouchable. It was beautiful to watch.
  22. I can only hope that when I pass, my head will lie within strong arms.

    Chapter 9

Another great chapter! I must say I was really surprised when Adrian fessed up. Then again, having seen Lily and Taka meet, he saw the writing on the wall, or, more accurately, he saw his sorry ass being hauled off to jail. It seems too early in the story to have Adrian removed from the equation - although that is exactly what I'd like to see. So I must assume Adrian has another plan to weasel his way out of this mess.
  24. Yeah, I think the consensus is that Velverde has lost his closer job. It's hard to believe that this is the same pitcher who, in 2011, saved 49 games in 49 attempts. His numbers for this year weren't as good but quite decent. He blew a save this past week in Game 4 of the ALDS against Oakland. Then there's all the wierd stuff he does.
  25. Looking for drama, anyone? Game 1 of the ALCS between the Tigers and Yankees had it all. Of course, you would have needed close to 5 hours to experience. Living on the west coast was certainly a plus tonight from that perspective. So the Yanks come to bat in the bottom of the 9th down 4 - 0. Jose Velverde, Detroit's closer, proceeds to give up 4 runs - Ichiro hits a 2-run homer and, yes, Rauuuuuuuuuul Ibanez follows that up with a 2-run homer of his own. There were several camera shots of Miguel Cabrera in the Tigers dugout at the end of the 9th - man, was he pissed - presumably with his manager, Jim Leyland, for not giving Velverde the hook after Ichiro's 2-run shot when the score was still 4 - 2 for Detroit. Anyway, Detroit scored 2 in the 12th and the Yanks couldn't come back a second time. The bigger loss for the Yankees, however, was losing Derek Jeter for the rest of the post season. Apparantly he broke his ankle - this happening in the 12th - mind you, he looked like he was playing injured through most of the game. Now that's a big gap to fill.
