They have already learned perhaps the most important rule; that the more in the group the better chance for survival as long as you can trust the ones in your group. I guess we never get over our issues do we? Even with a zombie outbreak and everything going on; Mark is still worried about what others will say about his relationship with Wayne. Wayne was hurt by his reaction; but importantly they talked through it and then Erin had the perfect reaction the next morning. Garrett is very observant and skilled; his importance with the group will only grow the longer they are together. Mister Buck is important too; his knowledge is going to help them strengthen the fencing but also prepare the farm to possible take in more survivors. Erin and Lisa also have not only skill but the right attitude to help out as well. We can hope the smoke that Lisa saw is someone else that has survived. We can also hope they are good people too.

Love how open everyone in this family is to therapy. Therapy isn't for everyone but for many it helps them in ways you cannot imagine. Will just cannot turn off that snarky charm of his even with his therapist; so funny. I wonder what JP is sending to Will? Can't see making a deal about Marie taking Will is mail, just seems out of place. Looks like the group from Escorial is starting this trip ready to get Hawaii and some relaxation. Travis took the first step to opening up more; he had to feel that Sierra and Crawford could be trusted and would be open to the news. Loved Will teasing Sierra, still not over what Curtis Buck did to her. At some point, that is going to be an issue that will have to be resolved. Vacations all around...

Hope that Tisa does not join this group, they seem to have no self control and no aim other than just random destruction and death. While opposing the Messiah is a worthy aim; their way is not the way forward.

So even the long captivity did not cause a new craving to come forth. Wonder what will happen when it is discovered that he is gone...

WOW, talk about a fast turnaround. I don't even know what to say. Caden cannot just stay on the island; and Ludwig refuses to even consider leaving. Talk about a no win scenario. Caden needs to realize that he can't just turn the island into a resort; someone would eventually realize the secret therein and then what? Sort of just feel sad...

Almost feel that they went from the skillet to the fire...

Really loved this chapter, it flowed just beautifully. I truly enjoy every minute of Trevor, Skylar, and Randy. Then you throw in the rest of the gang and it is just almost too much. The encounter with the guide on page was hot, even if the action was off page; and then you just know the next day with the added group that it was epic... So glad that Seth got a new ride, and this group is still looking out for him. Truly hope that all of those that hurt him are punished.. Can't wait to see what happens next...

Have a wonderful time, everyone needs time to rejuvenate and get some me time. Hope the trip is all you could hope for and you and your traveling companions have a great time...

Well, ain't that timing for you... Ludwig finally succumbs to Caden and they have unbelievable sex; and then a possible rescue plane appears... And you just know that neither of them have even thought about what to do if a rescue was to happen. How can Caden get Ludwig off the island if the rescue is anytime other than dark. How can he explain where Ludwig came from, etc... Things just got truly complicated...

Only death will truly stop them.... And are we sure that death will do it?

Let us hope that the halo does not dampen Tisa's ability at all. She will need everything to fight the monsters; unless Olona can simply pick her up and run faster than they could possible move...

That was just ugh... So gross, @drsawzall, why don't they turn on each other and try and take the glans that each of them have...

Sumi escaped her prison with a folder talking about her; found Harakin and then escaped again only to appear in apparently Dozi's place in the city. The something says it is safe; but is anyone safe from them. Not sure that I feel that either of these creatures should be alive, don't care that they were directed to do the horrible things they did or not. They committed great evil; perhaps they were trained for it in a way that gave them no choice, but not sure that excuses anything they did.

So excited that Garret's mom and sister survived. Sounds like they are as tough as he is. Erin and Lisa will be great additions. They were already organized and ready to roll if they had to; sounds like they will help keep everything prepared. Sounds like Mister Buck will be a great addition as well with his knowledge. Plus, Garrett picked some books for them to get that will help them as well. Glad that Garrett stayed behind to keep watch over the place. I am not sure that leaving the note on the can of chili was the best idea but... In this situation you want to help others and get your numbers up; but at the same time; you have to know and come to terms with the fact that you simply cannot trust everyone. Great chapter, so glad for the update. Keep them coming.

So for saving the two children from certain death; Liovia was killed herself. Makes you think that the humans are as bad as the so called monsters. We can hope that if Tisa and Olona do start a journey; they can find some place where whomever is there is better than where they came from.

Well, we learned in the past books what happens when a Messiah consumes a second or even more of the photonova glands. In addition, we saw in horror that the Messiah were hooking some with the gland up to machines to consume their spinal fluid, which I assume had some of the gland secretions. Instead of trying to help him; or destroy him, the Messiahs just washed their hands of him and left him free to kill others; another reason to despise them. Are all the monsters a result of Messiahs taking another gland, or are some also those who developed the powers but changed in ways that they could not hide what they are like the bio-shifts? Can the shifts or bio-shifts stand up to him in a group?

Ludwig and Caden sort of remind me of Ralph and Alice from The Honeymooners in this chapter, or at least some couple from an old Noel Coward comedy from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Ludwig doesn't understand how Caden can turn his emotions and actions on a dime; and Caden doesn't understand Ludwig being all dark menace then chivalrous all the sudden. Ludwig needs to get more control over his actions and needs to start figuring out how much the world has changed; and Caden needs to figure out how to stand on his own two feet. Lovely chapter...

Will reminds me of JP; he isn't in that league yet, and honestly don't think he ever will be but he is closer than anyone in the family except Tonto ever was. Loved Will's description of them as Russia, China, and the United States; it really fit. There are like the nuclear club and each can damage the others but only by hurting themselves in the process. Will is the only one that was strong enough to bring the other two to heel. So glad that Claire, Marie, and John were able to find some peace with each other; they will still have issues to work out, but nice that the reconciliation has started. Guess that I am a romantic; because I still want to see Claire and Jack back together. Travis needs to decide who he can trust and be honest with; Will is right about that, but Travis needs to make those decisions and set his own timeframe for doing so. Can't wait to see what happens next... This trip is going to be the BOMB...

Liovia saw the future and with Tisa was able to save two teens that the monster was after; why them particularly? Do they have some type of latent ability? There leaving and staying gone for the prescribed period saved them; but three others died in their place. Did the three die because the the four left; or would they have died anyway? Not as bleak as the last chapter, but even the good of this chapter was balanced out by a bad result, just not sure how related they are.

I truly hope that both girls die soon. I can say that the writing and pacing for this chapter were both good. That said, the total bleakness and mindless slaughter is starting to lose me. If the rest of the story is going to be like this; may have to count me out. Real life is bleak enough most of the time, not sure that I can handle what is supposed to be my relaxation from reality being this dark...

Olona is on the run. Will she prove to benefit society or be another to damn it. Good or Evil, we know not which yet. The bell rings; is it a search for her, or a terror unleashed?

So loved both list; but I honestly think you did a better job capturing JJ with his list than Will. That said, several of the songs on Will's list are truly spot on. Hell of a job, @methodwriter85; truly above and beyond.

Oh what fresh hell is this....

At least Caden is coming to admit to himself that he cannot survive alone on this island. Without Ludwig he would probably already be dead. Ludwig might be able to teach Caden enough to survive on his own but would Caden be capable of doing what was necessary to truly survive? Not sure it was the smartest move for Caden to go stumbling down into the cave in the dark. He fell and injured himself enough to draw blood; and that would have to draw Ludwig to him. But what shape is Ludwig in after retreating into himself to deal with his own issues? If Ludwig does nothing more than take some blood from Caden this time; will they actually sit and talk and try to work to resolve their issues?

Just enjoyed this chapter so much; although I was tense throughout it. I kept waiting for some attack or other event to occur. I just truly love how the three of them interact. I don't know if any of the two or three will ever imprint on on or other of the group but they are just so in tune with each other already. Randy seems to be leaning toward be changed; but who will bite him Trevor or Skylar? Becoming pack would give Randy so many more friends and give him a greater sense of belonging. The descriptive nature of this chapter was really well done; I have never been to that area of California but after reading this chapter and others; would really like to go. So that that they are going to go eat with Seth before enjoying some more cuddle time. Can't wait for the next update...
