A truly wonderful adventure full of bold characters and well written escapades. Had someone recommend this to me when the story was about fifteen chapters into it. I quickly caught up and waited impatiently each day for a new posting. The story is reminiscent of a few others; but has a truly unique take on an old idea. The characters were so interesting and fully fleshed out; even the secondary characters that we did not see much were oh so interesting. Loved Wanda. Don't start this unless you have time to finish it as you will not be able to stop reading until you have consumed it all. Bravo, truly Bravo.

Initially, I thought immediately of Lark/Scott. It popped into my head and I stated as much a chapter or two ago; but now I am not so sure. The very reason that @GLH believes it will be Lark/Scott; is the very reason that I now doubt it. It would be just too obvious. I do wonder why Brad seems to know or suspect something. This made me wonder about Robbie; but then when I got to figuring out the time frame, Greg Anders would have been a good choice too. I suspect we will know sooner rather than later...

Yes, Sedwick is a short Prince no more; and smart enough to just go back to what he was. Raimey, Getrell, Kundun, and the others are in for an exciting tale. Lodda banished himself; and now will know nothing but emptiness. Porvus was changed, how much remains to be seen. Jamie and the group will always be in each others lives; but they all will have their own path to walk. The world is safe, but ever changing. I foresee many more adventures; told or untold remain to be seen.

And just what does Brad know??? And why does he know it? I do think Brad is right about Harvard. Will needs to go, even if it isn't all the way through to graduation. Will is to smart to let his grades fall and he can transfer anywhere he will want to if he makes that decision. Travis was right to seek someone like Brad out; he would know what stocks were at least worth holding onto and what should have been dumped already. With Big and Taylor afraid to or unwilling to take on their father, then Travis would be the only one that could. I think Curtis Buck would be willing to kill Travis, if he thought he was not his biological son. From everything we have seen he is ruthless and Travis is right, he has never treated him like the others. I suspect that Curtis Buck's father knew the truth and did what he could to protect Travis, that is why his trust is structured so differently. Damn, this is almost as good as a supper at Escorial, and you get the views here.

So the last battle has started and Lodda attacked Porvus as rabidly as he did the others. Nothing Lodda says can be trusted; and I am sure the other nor Porvus do. I still can't tell that the Oracle is controlling Lodda, I suspect that Lodda is simply that power hungry and mad. Jamie and the others saved Porvus, not sure if that was a mistake or not. The fact that they can understand what Lodda and the Oracle are saying and they don't realize it is a huge plus for their side. The Oracle is trying to take the group far enough from their Sun that they will lose power but the machines that Lodda and the Oracle have created will not. The group must find a way to stop the Gateway from opening or stop the ship from passing through it. The fact the group, minus Porvus, acts so readily as one; may be there greatest advantage. Can't wait for tomorrow. NOW NOW NOW

So Lodda has been met; even if he did not fully realize it. He seems more formidable than Porvus; and I feel that Porvus may not stand as well against him as even he suspects. I suspect that Porvus is right; and the machines of the Ancients will give Lodda at least a momentary advantage. Plus, Lodda may be ready to attack anything since he could sense the group such a short time before, could he think it was Porvus trying to reach him? Jamie and the other, but especially Jamie, take every opportunity to learn and advance their knowledge. The fact the knowledge is now shared between them is wonderful. Not sure that the group is truly ready to face Lodda and the machines of the Ancients; but any delay will just give Lodda and the Oracles more time to try and open the gate. Let's hope that the next step is not calamitous for any in our group, would hate to lose any of them...

Well, I do feel that this first in person meeting with Porvus was a little bit disappointing. Not bangs, no booms, no death... Porvus could be right; opening the gate to the other worlds could bring those races back and have them attempt to destroy this world. That could prove just as deadly as if Lodda was able to control some type of firing system that he could use to hit the world where he wanted, when he wanted. I never even considered this possibility. Paget fleeing as he did makes me wonder how he has attacked what he and Porvus considered the lower races. His fear was real; and now he knows that those they were trying to eliminate will be able to start to fight back in a more coordinated nature. Snave is angry and yet, Porvus to some extent is right, Snave came after them not the other way around. Geert is upset at the attack on his Master, and rightly so, Porvus is right in that he seemingly has made enemies of almost everyone in his past that he cannot control or influence. Is Lodda truly under the control of the other Oracle or just power hungry? Which would really be worse? Excellent chapter, keep them coming...

Whatever Lodda is up to scares Porvus enough that even he will parley with Jamie and the others to prevent what Lodda is trying to achieve. I still think there is something of the Ancient machinery that is in space that a space station or something can control that is what destroyed almost all of the towers. Lodda seeks to control it and with that control; control the world as it it. Jamie and the lens have a truly unique relationship. The index of the three codex for lack of a better word is truly impressive. This will give them so much knowledge to work with and develop even newer ideas. The synergistic energy between this group is amazing. It allows for so much; they truly are stronger together than apart. And now Flitch is able to interact in their world. Bravo, truly Bravo.

Sort of leaning toward Lark/Scott, seem to remember him going with sleeping with someone that could have well been Travis' mother.

Let's hope that Brad is right and Curtis Buck is just skimping on plane maintenance; but I sort of doubt it, this is a CAP story after all. I love how Will and Marie have so much of both of their parents and grandparents in them; they just truly understand how to handle any situation. I do hope that Claire and Jack find a way back together; after Claire has made him suffer some. Glad that Marie is so prepared for how her relationship with Austin will end. Will and Travis are just good together on so many levels; not saying they are forever at this point but... Love the pizza analogy, I can totally see the conversation with JP, Stef, and Brad. Wonder why Travis has his trust situation so different? What did his Grandfather know that Travis isn't aware of? Excellent chapter...

So we have reached Methuwan, and it would appear at least for the moment that they are undetected but Jamie is right; from this point on it isn't just the power of detection by the mages but the machines designed by the Ancients. So we met another clan of seven, the Chuwa, and Moket was able to help them with the images to enter Methuwan in safety. Plus, this clan has had the birth of a seer. So the group is right; and the magic is spreading with each new generation. I believe that Snave is right and that Thorvil will do what he can for them when the time is right; he may have had a vision that too much interference or assisting too early might cause issues that this group cannot see. I think that the fact this group has made friends of so many from different groups and cultures from their own is almost as important as the mission they now find themselves on. They are showing that not all human mages are evil and destructive. This is a powerful lesson for others to learn.

Jamie and Garvin returned and fulfilled their promise tot he Prince and he is no longer small. What this group is learning with some help from Flitch will totally change how magic is understood and used on this world. Really at this point no matter what the outcome, everything will be different. I truly worry that others will try and force one or other member of this group to divulge what they have learned; some of this information should never be known outside this group, or at least not at the present time. Amazed how how much information was relayed in this chapter; it truly feels like the pause before the dawn. Can't wait to see what happens next.

So Urvan is no more; and Jamie proved that in the end he could do what must be done. However, he got a sense that Urvan was truly lonely; Urvan wanted love and not finding it perhaps twisted him into what he became, but he never gave up wanting that love. Just seems sad. They have more information about what is going on; but I don't think they realize the true horror. From the heavens, Lodda will be able to use the lightning strike to kill and destroy all that oppose him. This is a horror to great to allow. They must find a way to stop this. I am glad that Seeri and Rier and even Lautan were able to do their part but then go back to their lives; changed and aware, but knowing the truth. WOW, just really powerful.

Jamie is too kind-hearted. He should have killed Urvan and taken what he needed when he had the chance. Urvan will never be stronger than Jamie; but there may be one or more that is. And because Jamie let Urvan slip away they will be better prepared to face Jamie and his group. Of course, they don't know how many or who is in the group but still. I am glad that Seeri was able to learn the magic from Jamie and the others and got to meet Flitch. I am also glad that she was able to teach Jamie and them some magic as well. I think the sharing is greatly beneficial to all. Urvan may well believe that Lautan has perished and now that Jamie has removed the control that Porvus had over him, he can leave and the dark mages will be diminished at this location. Lautan was obviously the strongest one there and if they are also able to free Rier and perhaps others; they will have struck a blow. Cotrin may have well been a depository of the Ancients that survived and one of the dark mage leaders found it and is trying to exploit it. Methuwan may be the main base but Cotrin may be the more important target.

So Seeri Deeping has joined our group and she seeks her betrothed back and his mind clear. She will have a reason to fight and fight hard. Our group is finding their way and their new addition may be able to answer questions about what it is coming. Let's hope this gives them an advantage and a way to help them prepare for the coming battle. Sir Dorf seems to know more about the Council of Mages than any of the group would have suspected; perhaps he has been in their service in the past. And we find out that Master Thorvil heads a group that this group would fit in with quite well. Glad that Seeri and Jamie knew places and people in common, it allowed them to know that what the other said had some truth to it. A woman added to the group; is she going to have cooties???? I don't know about this...

LOL, well I may talk big; but anything less than a four star resort isn't for me and I prefer a five star one. I like to read about adventures, but I like my creature comforts...

They seem to be in a safe place at the moment. Of course, that could change in the blink of an eye. They were able to reach Crescent because Gorge had been there before and Jamie was able to translocate them by acquiring this knowledge from him; a new trick for all of them. Kundun gave Jamie much to think on before they started their trip back. The idea of why after coming to this world; that powers were acquired is one that if answered would be a big leap forward. The merit of such information is obvious. It might lead to a way to remove that ability from someone that was using it for evil. A new place to explore; Gorge has been there, so he will have some idea of a possible direction to start. But they need to be wary, as the get ever closer to their end; the more they will be hunted. Let's hope a for a little adventure; and maybe a little practice with their new abilities, but pray they are kept safe and ready to all resume their journey.

Glad that Jamie was able to get back and explain the situation; equally glad that he was able to share his new knowledge with Kundun and make sure that it was not lost if something tragic happened. I am equally sure that Kundun will share the knowledge with Lestho and Pallin. A little surprised that they did not at least attempt to deal with the problem of the Prince, realize it is not the main deal any longer but still. I am a little worried about Thorvil, with everything going on right now, any delay would be worrisome to me. Flitch is just a delight. I wonder if anyone that knows of him that enters the nether would be able to call him? Raimey is worried for Jamie, ,Garvin, and the others; thought that was sweet. Glad that he took the chance to go to them. Would think the books that Kundun has would be a great thing to share with those around him. The more that understand the past the better it is for all. Not shocked that at one time all the people of the planet were friends; war, destruction, and death has a way of tearing things asunder.

Thank God, I have wondered once or twice why since they can translocate; why have they not returned to a more friendly place. They can always translocate back to the spot they left from and not lose any of the travel they have made so far. So glad that Jamie was able to provide Gorge with not only a piece of the knack but some defensive ability as well. Flitch is right, Jamie must make sure what he has learned is shared with others not on this journey. Some of what this group has learned is outstanding and will change the direction of Magic for all. So, Porvus is placing a charm or something on the mages that come in contact with him so he can control them to some or total extent. They need to try and find out what the charm is or how to recognize it, could it be the one they took from Skoda? If not a charm perhaps an enchantment that leaves some type of mark? Wanda the Witch might be a help with this. Can Thorvil be contacted; would it not be great for Snave to actually communicate with his brother after so long? Is it possible that Jamie could look at the Prince and tell what Urvan has done and undo it now? Rolf and Gart just made the best decisions of their life. Let us hope they live long happy lives uncomplicated by their exposure to the evil they witnessed.

Totally love this chapter, I really like how much Sam has been able to change Julius. That said, I agree with Julius, hire someone to finish the cabin...

I so love anytime that Will and Marie get together. I really do think they are the clear leaders of their generations; they are so matched intellectually. And they have such a great repour. I understand were Marie is coming with; especially with her mother, but I think Claire would be horrified if she thought Marie was not following her dream to go to Harvard just to stay near her. Plus, I think Claire is tougher than they think she is, she just needs to get her bearings back. Jack is actually the one that I think will eventually fall totally apart over the divorce, if there is one. Will and Travis just make sense on so many levels. I don't know that Will is ever going to be ready to commit to an totally monogamous relationship, but I think at some point that Travis will want one. They are not ready for that at this point period nor until they are out of college and in the same place, but if they can't make it work, that will be the stressor. Damn, I so wish I ever had Will's sex life...

A battle to remember and tell tales about for sure. Once again, the group worked as one. Jamie is clearly the strongest currently and the focus but the help that all provided was needed. Jamie simply removed the knack from Skoda; did anyone know this was even possible? Their work in finding an answer to how to stop the blue light weapon has lead them again to a new level of understanding and ability. The trip itself is giving them time to grow in ability and wisdom. Damn, if Skoda was simply a shadow of his brother, Lodda, a long trip may be called for. Has no one considered trying to contact Thorvil or bring him to them? Has no one thought to contact the council that was spoken of that has in the past adjudicated issues with mages? Great update....
