Ah, so Bernie's arrival has awakened something ancient and terrible. But what is it? And it's thoughts suggest there was a encounter long ago; is there anyone else alive that knows about this encounter and what precipitated it? The Emperor is strong, and put down the first challenge; and obviously is having someone keep watch on another potential trouble spot. But we learned that not everyone is happy with the status quo, but tradition seems to be very important to the lions. Not sure that the Emperor was really smart to try and absorb the kingdom of King Muruthi; is there no one else in his kingdom willing to stand up and fight? If there is, a bigger fissure may erupt just when the Emperor needs unity from those behind him. Excellent couple of chapters to mark your return @Grumpy Bear.

"My name is Julius and I'm an over two-thousand year old vampire. Thus, I will not be disrespected by the likes of you. If you ever insult me like this again I will rip off your limbs peace by peace until you beg me to end you!" The blond growled, showing off his long fangs and tightening his grip on the poor human's throat. This it should read, " rip off your limbs piece by piece until you "....

Ah so we get to meet Ludwig's maker; Julius, can't say that I am impressed yet but time will tell. Sam just seems lost, perhaps even before the story began. Julius needs to grow up; if he is that insecure after two thousand years; he has more issues than we can even start dealing with. Interesting start to the new story, can't wait to see what happens next.

The lions and the Benefactors have started a war that I am not sure either is truly prepared for. The make up of the expedition forces for both assignments is spot on. They have both wisdom and strength. Even the knowledge that Karhu and Gary are not going, makes it more secure for the reasons stated. I will be interested to see exactly what or who the Benefactors are myself; are they of the Gods or just meddlesome others. And I for one would not be upset at all if that so called Emperor Lion was put in his place, at the feet of someone else. On a personal note, @Grumpy Bear, welcome back but please make sure you take care of yourself first and foremost.

@Grumpy Bear, as much as we all would love the story to continue; you must take care of yourself first.

Chapter 30 - Olona & Sumi
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 30 - Olona & Sumi
WOW, on just so m any levels. Olona is always learning and that can only be a good thing. She is helping Sumi learn more about herself and her powers and that can only be a good thing; look it already is, they rescued the Princess. I just knew Ilya was going to need help. Great chapter. -
Chapter 29 - The Market
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 29 - The Market
What a wonderful bubbly chapter. How will these friends react when the two monsters left reach Teshon City? I do hope that Ilya will be okay out in the wild with them heading this way. I know she can fly; but we don't really know the abilities of the two heading their way. -
Chapter 28 - Ronging & the Other
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 28 - Ronging & the Other
A mechanical head; could this monster be connected to Tuala? -
Chapter 27 - Gunge, Part Two
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 27 - Gunge, Part Two
So, the monsters of the Gunge are no more... Gawa seems to have gotten over her disgust at any that were not Bio-shifts. An effective fighting force; but to what end? -
Chapter 26 - Ronging, Part Four
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 26 - Ronging, Part Four
And what has wrought this devastation? Is there a new player on the scene? -
Chapter 25 - Accepted
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 25 - Accepted
I know that the Messiahs must be stopped; but this group does not seem to acknowledge that some Messiahs can change and grow; look at Auntie Peg. If you simply kill them all without mercy; are you any better than they are? -
Chapter 24 - Tchama & Olona
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 24 - Tchama & Olona
Tchama needs to understand she is oh so different from the Messiahs. Yes, she accepted the photnova gland from Ninyani, but she did not kill anyone for it; it was to save her life. Tchama needs to open up, she just needs to find out who she feels most comfortable with. Was hoping that Olona would recommend replacing her arm, but perhaps she cannot for some reason. Excellent chapter. -
Chapter 23 - The Blood Corruption Clinic
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 23 - The Blood Corruption Clinic
Auntie Peg is as kind as we suspected. She serves others and tries to help where she can. Ninyani is learning from the best. Dottie is worried about Tchama because of what happened earlier, but I truly believe she went to Olona's to see what she could understand about herself. -
What a great chapter, well at least parts of it. I am so glad that they found MaryAnne and Hope before it was too late. Hate they she lost her son and daughter in law, and I agree with Mark that MaryAnne is not ready to know about her son and his wife. And luck that they actually picked up formula. @Daddydavek is right; even a few small normalcies would mean so much to all the survivors. So Wayne and Mark did the nasty so loud that they woke the dead so to speak... Love that Garret is getting to tease them about this. But they do need that cabin so they can have a little more privacy. Plus, would be better to make sure the women and children are in the main house as added protection at least for a while. Great chapter.

Chapter 22 - Tchama
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 22 - Tchama
Tchama is going to see Olona. Let's hope she can help her to understand her powers and how strong she really is. And another arm, even if not as strong would be nice as well. Her saving the child was serendipitous, maybe it will help some that still have issues with those that are different. I still miss Agrell. This chapter made me think about her a lot. So good to see that so many came together to help build and repair the area near Gate Town. All of them working together even though they are different. -
Chapter 21 - The Gathering
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 21 - The Gathering
Olona is so interested in everything and wanting to figure out everything. Xin sounds better and worse about the shifts and Messiahs and all of that. They obviously know about them, as they can trap the monsters as they call them; but they don't seem as hostile or interested in them. This group makes me happy... I wonder if Olona could give Tchama another arm? Would it be only so so in strength though? -
Chapter 20 - Found Family
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 20 - Found Family
Okay, is Olona going to meet with bio-shifts that are attacking the Messiahs or with Dozi, Auntie Peg, etc...? They don't have to be in each others pockets but since they live together; they need to at least tolerate the others friends to keep the peace. -
Chapter 19 - Lahari, S’Kay, Gawa, & Ijeron
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 19 - Lahari, S’Kay, Gawa, & Ijeron
Ah, so the group has already added to their number. Have they lost anyone except Eroli? We do not know what Tuala is doing, why add another at this time? -
Chapter 18 - Confrontation
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 18 - Confrontation
Great chapter; we are getting more in this group that are coming to know and understand each other. They all oppose the current Messiah leadership and what they are doing. Let us all hope they continue to get to really know each other and learn to work together to make the city they now live in better for their being there. -
What a wonderful addition to the Running With The Pack saga. A total homerun from start to finish. We get a deep dive on Trevor, who was the second of Aiden's friends, but the one away at college that we did not get as much info on in the first couple of stories. We get to know him and walk with him on a new area of discovery as he spends a summer helping out the pack in California that Aiden and Ethan came into with Dorian's "death". Don't want to give anything away. Just sit back and let @WolfM take you on a great adventure...

Ha, in chapter five, I actually suggested the twin from hell. Guess I was right but guess they both are from hell. I never understood when twins did things like that. Don't know what is more annoying, that Shannon thought it was all funny or the fact that she actually tried to pin the pregnancy on Trevor. What a total bitch. Loved how Trevor yelled across the quad and let it all just come out, damn the consequences. Plus, got him a number for a hottie. I can't see Trevor giving up women, at least not yet. Great to see how Trevor handled the situation with Jayson and Jayson proved he was really a great friend. Don't know if anything would every happen with him; but I am not sure it should, Jayson is the kind of guy that could get hurt easily I am afraid. Trevor's conversation with his wolf was just so well written. This gave such a great viewpoint that we had only sort of glimpsed a few times. Trevor seems so integrated with his wolf, maybe more than some others. The last conversation with the two guys was just sweet. Trevor truly is a good guy. Maybe going out with this group with Jayson would help Jayson and Trevor both. Bravo, just so well done.

Lovely story and well written. The pacing was good throughout. It was a unique spin on the vampire story. Both of the characters had flaws but they were more than entertaining. I believe that the author's first language is not English and this would explain some of the wording and phrase issues but none of them prevented the story from moving forward or lessened the overall enjoyment of the story. I did feel that the short chapters hurt the flow of the story a few times as there seemed to be abrupt endings to chapters. All of that said, I can be a total bitch so just ignore part of this review and know that it's a good story and a good read. Take a chance and spend a little time getting to know Caden and Ludwig.

What a delight; I am honestly shocked that they have seemingly pulled it off. Caden came back to Ludwig. Together they built their happily ever after place; but at some point the issue of Ludwig living forever while Caden ages will have to be addressed by them. Brava....

Chapter 16 - Home
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 16 - Home
Well, Sumi and Harakin are at least initially meshing well with our group. They are perhaps getting a little information overload. I do find it strange that different parts of this world seem to have no contact or knowledge of other areas; I guess perhaps the lack of transportation inhibits it some what but did the destruction in the distant past seemingly severe what was already known? Sumi and Harakin are going to have to work to realize that their lives are their own now... And if they wish, they too can be as fabulous at Auntie Peg, Doreen, and Ninyani...
