The cousins are a breath of fresh air for Abel III and the whole ship. They are infectiously good humored and I'm glad you like them. The decision to marry can be crystal clear when both parties are given free access to the other's deepest thoughts and feelings. It's another result of being telepathic.

I think that someone else had it more right when they thought it is more likely a matter of perception. The Lord by virtue of his birth and upbringing has an aristocratic (not upper class) point of view. I too think he perceives Wade to be at least upper class and treats him with the reserve and respect due a gentleman. While Matt may be upper class in Cleveland, he probably comes across much more middle class to Alex and he treats him as such. Someone he can let loose with and not worry about his actions or appearances in private. I think it is so ingrained in the aristocracy to treat other gentlemen as gentlemen, that they can't escape it even in a moment of passion. So while I don't see any evidence of a personality disorder or a worse mental problem yet, I do see class coming into it

The idea of being telepathic is intriguing, but also daunting. At the very least it is a double edged sword. The idea of using it to exercise mind control of others is the scary part.

I grew up in a family with six siblings. I learned to like most things or got to go hungry! However, I do like food and it is a constant battle. My answer is walk, walk, walk. Good thing I have a dog! Thanks for reviewing!

Just a thought provoked by the discussion here. When I was a young man, the thought of old men having sex was repugnant. When I was a middle aged man, I worried that I wouldn't be able to have sex when I got old. As an older man, the thought of old men not being able to have sex is repugnant. The wheel turns. Happily, I've got to agree healthy ageing has its advantages.

With the household split up between Escorial, Malibu, Chicago and Boston I suspect that Mark will continue to employ multiple narrators depending on where the story takes us. With the digs in New York, and also in Hawaii, not to mention Wades Virginia estate, there is no shortage of locales. I wonder if Wades little brother is going to be stuck in California while Wade moves to Boston? The story has a target rich environment of potential story lines, all seemingly carefully set up by our cunning author and I for one am ready for wherever it leads us.

Going slow is romantic, but only to a point. More please!

The Lady Elgin seems to be provoking a gradually stronger response from Granger. I'm betting that she eventually appreciates the gravity of her errant ways with perhaps some slight instruction from her husband. Perhaps she will serve one purpose however, and that is to make Granger appreciate Carolyn for never being boorish.

Very nice and very profitable for our poor George! Lady Elgin is slow to get the point that her behaviour is counter-productive. However, it is a long voyage and I'm sure she eventually will as the consequences do seem to be increasing....

Chapter 17 The Party and Afterward I awoke the next morning with Dennis spooned up to my naked back with his rampant morning wood, laying vertically up the crack of my ass and I luxuriated in sensual enjoyment of the moment. Alex is a bit more complicated and aggressive with Matt. Wade being sick is certainly convenient for Alex and Matt to hook up. Still think Alex will be out of the picture after a semester or two. Tiffany being preggers makes for some interesting speculation. JJ getting settled seems to have gone well. More please!

I find the whole discussion interesting. Especially telling I think as characterized by those who are parents and those who have not had that responsibility. While people do try to be consistent with their own internal values, those values do change over time and may even vary depending on the situation. Over a 140 years ago Emerson gave us the following quote which came to my mind. "Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines." My point is that people are individuals with faults, failings and inconsistencies. Most children recognize that about their parents at about age nine. Teenagers love to point out a parent's inconsistency. Most parents are usually equally adept at pointing out their children's inconsistencies, albeit often much larger ones as the parents have the edge in experience.

So you got it all tweaked and shined up and you better damn not leave us hanging! Just say I want some more!

Thanks! We have a lot more to learn about all of them. I think that being telepathic can easily be embarrassing in many situations and poor Travis was probably doubly embarrassed.
