Been stewing over this chapter ever since I read it and I must say, the action is fast paced. I am beginning to wonder if Shay will even make his destination without another intervention by fate. As usual, I am enjoying the writing, but the story has me so filled with anticipation that I can hardly contain my desire for more and more right now!

So Ohio is behind them and St. Louis awaits Will. The interlude was not totally without fun for Will but it's clear the real drama is ahead. Steff is always a hoot and a fun guy to have in the story. That he is a savvy businessman and filthy rich as a result was again displayed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYR! & Thanks again for all you do!

Granger's luck goes from fabulous to foul at some of the most inopportune times. It's a thick plot for his stalwart crew to be in without their intrepid leader's guidance.

CAP is the story of JP and his clan and JP as the narrator always works for me! I hope to he has the floor for the next several chapters as well! As usual and have I mentioned lately how much I love this saga?

Circumnavigation (99+56) The Belly of the Beast
Daddydavek replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
Endless speculation occurring during another endless wait on a herculean saga that has spanned publication over more than two years. CJ realizes we want closure and I realize he has a lot of threads left to tie-up, but the a-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n is overwhelming. -
Blake's panic at apparently being outed however innocently it happened was an interesting character study in reactions. Ethan and Blake are actually at two very different places in their own processing of who they are and it certainly played out publicly. I imagine the rest of Blake's teammates are processing that as well. Another interesting chapter.

I think I would call it incredibly embarrassing. Baseball is like that, spectacular plays followed by clueless foul-ups. My Cards are doing great, but they have made some stupid mistakes as well. Like the pitcher fielding an infield grounder and throwing the ball to the second baseman when the short stop was covering second and it would have been an easy out for the lead off runner. Instead it was no out at all.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! & MANY, MANY MORE TOO! CONGRATS ON REACHING THE BIG 5-0!

I think that with the banning of the parties involved at the Bastille day party, that it will probably become a non-event in the story. I'm hoping that JP's POV continues through the trip to Ohio and even after the Bastille Day party and then Will takes over again. Of course, I suspect Mark has it all blocked out already and I like the rest will just have to bide my time to see what happens next.

It was nice to see JP as the narrator and the story from his POV. The point Steff made about Will being more hurt than angry and how he made that clear to JP was well put. Then the fact that Will had to call JP to apologize before he could sleep validated Steff's & JP's confidence in Will. They seemed less confident in the trio of Marie, Claire and Isidore. It would be interesting to see another few chapters from JP's POV. As usual,

I'm with Sly on this one!

Thanks for another chapter about one of my favorite characters! Lot's of background and the introduction of another hunky character. Lucky George, even starting to resolve his grief over Travers. Well done and as usual!

I was sent this by a good friend and I thought it was worth passing on to the GA community. Dave JUST A MOM? A woman, renewing her driver's license , was asked by the woman at Registry to state her occupation. She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself. 'What I mean is, ' explained the woman at Registry, 'do you have a job or are you just a ...?' 'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman. 'I'm a Mom.' 'We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation, 'housewife' covers it,' Said the recorder emphatically. I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation. The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like, 'Official Interrogator' or 'City Registrar.' 'What is your occupation?' she probed. What made me say it? I do not know. The words simply popped out. 'I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations.' The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in mid-air and looked up as though she had not heard right. I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written, in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire. 'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest, 'just what you do in your field?' Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply, 'I have a continuing program of research, (what mother doesn't) In the laboratory and in the field, (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family) and already have four credits (all daughters). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities, (any mother care to disagree?) and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of- the -mill careers and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.' There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she completed the form, stood up and personally ushered me to the door As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model, (a 6 month old baby) in the child development program, testing out a new vocal pattern. I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mom.' Motherhood! What a glorious career! Especially when there's a title on the door. This makes Grandmothers 'Senior Research associates in the field of Child Development and Human Relations' And Great Grandmothers 'Executive Senior Research Associates. May your troubles be less, Your blessing be more, And nothing but happiness come through your door! Happy Mother's Day!

The cop, the witch and her brother who talks to animals; ok it is a bit of an unusual scenario, but you brought it off remarkably well. And to think it all centered around a blood red ruby!

I said it in my review, but I disagree with Pvt Tim's opinion that Will and JJ dropping their rings on the table was over the top. It would be over the top for twenty someones or older, but for teenagers, it was just being emphatic. I thought it was totally in character for Will and JJ following along was not surprising at all.

A totally interesting chapter that you just could not stop reading. A lot of observations have already been made. One from PVTTIM indicating Will & JJ taking off their signet rings and dropping them on the table was over the top is one I would agree with if Will and JJ were in their twenties. Kids are often over the top just to emphasize their points and I thought it was totally in character for them to make the gesture. As usual thanks for another great chapter and !

I loved the latest chapter. Especially how well George was able to think his way through to a solution that was in the interest of both parties. I thought the portrayal of Calvert's crew as being unhappy with sharing all their spoils was accurate and to be expected. I suspect they will be more than happy to share the spoils of Granger's haul. For people who have little, and most seamen could carry all their possessions in a sea bag, getting a reduced share of the spoils that they underwent the risk for was understandable. Getting Granger's ship fully seaworthy is a priority for the voyage still ahead. It seems there is room for plenty of adventures before they make their destination.

Thanks for a wonderful chapter which again shows how inventive Granger (Arbour) really is!

This town would go nuts!.

Will's world is suddenly much calmer and almost domestic. He's getting along with his dad, his boyfriend, his mom, his brothers and his mom's new domestic partner, not to mention Steff and JP. Somehow I suspect this is the calm before the storm.

If fan votes count, then I vote for continuing the scene.

It is not just a coincidence that life's little surprises are best when someone pays it forward. People being kind, generous and remembering that encouragement and help can make a difference for someone who is already working hard are parables for the best of us. A very well-told and interesting tale. Thanks for sharing!
