    Chapter 98

Arbour has these really hot sex scenes sandwhiched in between fairly meaningful relationship dialogue--with the family as the backdrop. All the while maintaining the whole ambience of the story and moving it along. Somehow I don't see Wade and JJ ever being really close, but with Mark's expertise in setting things up, I guess anything is possible. My hat is off to our resident raconteur whose excellence is unquestioned. As usual!

    Chapter 97

Interesting party with surprises including Will getting knocked into the pool. I'm not sure what the fascination is with getting drunk especially for those that have experienced a bad hangover. Lucky for Will a couple of Advil seem to do the trick. It does seem that Robbie has made up with the family including Will which is something no one was betting on at Thanksgiving. Now if we just knew if Wade and Matt were making any progress....Maybe the next chapter will be from Wade's POV? As usual!

    Chapter 18

I'm with RG85! An early birth and complications successfully dealt with by the young couple.
  5. Turning down a $9 an hour job and only getting 20-25 hours per week that takes a 30 mile commute is understandable. I realize that your degree may not be the most sought after by employers, but the point of a job is to make money and you are a very smart guy with the ability to handle a lot of data and make sense of it. So good luck in your continued pursuit of gainful employment!
  6. Keep your faith in yourself. Somehow things will work out. Worry about the things you can change and try to let go of the things you can't. You might try to ask for a meeting with the lender to present a detailed budget of how you plan to meet all your expenses including the house and what you are putting aside for regular recurring expenses as well as emergencies.
  7. With the fire below I suspect getting people off the ship was the priority and then getting away from it in case the magazine did blow, rather than someone making some foolhardy attempt to obtain info from the captains quarters. I'm unfamiliar enough with the ship's plan to think the bow smasher might have smashed right through those quarters anyway.....

    Part 20

Thanks for the chapter and all the info even about the life prolonging treatments.

    Chapter 35

Thanks! That answered my questions. I hoped that the rah-rah with the reviews would inspire you. Hopefully, it won't be too long before you crank out another chapter!
  10. My top 5 of countries to visit that I haven't been to: 1. Germany 2. Italy 3. Switzerland 4. Austria 5. Denmark I think I might need an Eurorail pass....
  11. Sharon's comment in the review of the latest chapter is funny and Mark's was about commas! LOL
  12. Per my count at 10:00 PM Central US Time we still need 5 more chapter reviews for the latest chapter of Odessy--if Mr. Arbour can be taken at face value..... For all those who complain about the time between postings and needing their Granger fix, now is the time to make your voices heard!
  13. Hot Jeff is a minor character and I have no clue as to why everyone is so worried about his paternity..... The latest chapter is up and the conversation between Will and JP is all about the concept of paternity in the day to day problems of being a parent. Interesting summation of the whole idea of parenting with insights into what that can mean all woven seamlessly into the plot line.

    Chapter 96

Will's conversation with JP is a summation of what the whole idea of the story is about, Paternity. Great job and what a neat way to work that all into the plot line so seamlessly.

    Chapter 34

Well worth the wait. But now we must wait for the next chapter to see whether Granger was able to save the day and his friend Calvert.
  16. The UK government link is pretty harsh about Mr. Fox See the following link: http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/about-us/our-history/a-brief-history-fco/foreign-secretaries/fox I quote from the opening paragraphs in the above link: "Charles James Fox Foreign Secretary between: Mar-Jul 1782 Apr-Dec 1783 Feb-Sept 1806 Fox was a gambling addict, womaniser, debtor, and dandy who was forgiven his failings by many because of his defence of civil liberty and his overwhelming charisma. He was Britain's first Foreign Secretary. In fact, he was Secretary of State three times, in 1782, 1783 and 1806, but each time he used the position more successfully to fight for a constitutionally stronger Parliament than to achieve foreign policy aims. In 1782, the Foreign Office was a new endeavour, and it was much smaller than it is today. When Fox took the post he had only 13 staff in London, one of whom was a 'Necessary Woman'—the housekeeper. The total number of consuls and diplomats abroad was not much bigger. The Office was created because the Northern and Southern Departments that had dealt with home affairs, colonies, and international relations since the 1640s were no longer fit for purpose. George III created the Foreign Office to coordinate international diplomacy and the Home Office to run domestic policy and the British colonies. Fox saw other advantages than administrative necessity. He believed that George had too much power and hoped that the new Secretaries of State could force the king to accept American independence. "
  17. Having arrived at peace with yourself and the others you impacted along the way is an achievement that many never attain. The remaining challenge is to not get complacent and therefore; I agree that you should keep writing your memoirs if for no other reason than to clarify your own thoughts and impressions as you synthesize your personal recollections and personality. Peace! DDK

    Jesse

You made this old man cry. I too hope that Jesse ends up meeting Zack and company!
  19. And congrats to you to for all the help (grief) you give Mark as you make him a better author! And while I'm at it, congrats to all of the team that helps Mark keep so many of us enthralled. Kudos to all!
  20. Bridget is truly a piece of work and easily one of the most malevolent characters on the site. Congrats on the award. Hopefully her demise will be epic.
  21. Just wanted to add my congrats too!
  22. Congrats to all and each is well deserved! Bravo!
  23. I have the earlier Kindle Touch e-reader and it is fine for long reading sessions. I have the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch tablet that I browse the web and do apps on and it is fine because it isn't tethered. I have a laptop which is ok but is really too big to lug around much. I use it instead of my main PC when on vacation etc. I have a desktop PC which I use for my main computer to do work, writing, or any extended typing. Each has their place. I do not have an expensive smart phone. I use my cell phone for calls and limited texting. I have plenty of other gizmos to try to look at a 5 inch or smaller screen and try to follow along or read. Multiple electronics, used in contexts where they work best. I love living in the 21st century. The book selection at Amazon is unbeatable and so are their prices. I have Prime so I can even borrow books for free. And the videos, both TV and movies are also a deal with many free when you have Prime. My Fire HD 8.9 has a mini hdmi out so with a cord I can stream video to my big screen TV which is not internet or Wi-Fi capable. I watched both Seasons 1 & 2 of Downton Abbey that way.
  24. There is nothing wrong with the 'au naturel' look. Styles change. Some folks will always like the wild bear look. Of course, I like the shaved, trimmed and sculpted look so prevalent today too. My tastes are very wide ranging.... !
  25. The goat occupies a whimsical place and sort of reminds me of a silly song from Men at Work: P.S. There are some great pics of Aussieland
