Losing everything in a fire is devastating. Favorite pictures, family mementos, clothes, shoes, and all the little items acquired over your life. Knowing someone blocked the door and wanted you dead is different than losing everything in an accidental fire. Poor Corbin will face some lost traumatic issues. Getting security upgraded to include the new members of the pack is the primary concern. Insurance companies as others have noted are parsimonious and always looking for ways to deny or minimize claims.

That Jake and Travis are half-brothers calls into question Jake's relationship to his father, or step-father? Perhaps the apple really didn't fall too far from the tree and their father is actually Travis' grandfather. The fact that the grandfather's lawyer will be at the dinner is also a red flag. So Travis' trust was set-up differently from the rest of the Bucks because grandfather arranged it that way, and perhaps the lawyer has some previously unreleased codicil to only be read when Travis turns eighteen. More questions than answers, as usual. P.S. Patiently (NOT) waiting for a Granger fix.

The healing duo of Asa and Caleb done good and the party was great. Caleb's worry about Texas was prescient and hopefully Corbin was spared. The biggest regret I have is that Caleb didn't take Silas' word to heart and make time to clear things up with Van....

I too am looking forward to see what Will got the birthday girl. Then I expect the results from of the genetics test confirm Jake and Travis are related. The dinner with the Bucks could rival some of the most dramatic ones at Escorial.

A great job tying up several threads in the series! I especially loved the way Kage tied them all together in a blinding light! I suspect Caleb and his mate reappear in the next chapter.

When Asa encountered problems trying to heal them one at a time, I intuited like Caleb that they would have to be done together. Identical twins, it just made sense to me. The whole chapter is my new favorite. Well done and yes you made this old man cry!

It must be a Jesuit school, otherwise the topics would not have been allowed. For fifteen, the young man has a fairly sophisticated and mature take on things, but he also grew-up in the school of hard knocks... A little more research would have put a finer spin on why God allows terrible things to happen, but in the end it is unexplainable just as the teen concluded. Catholics do have a sharper sense of guilt than some religions, but there are plenty of non-catholics with problems with guilt, some overwhelmingly so. A provocative story, but perhaps it makes the idea it is okay to dismiss the faith of others reasonable, when faith is often the opposite of reasonable.

Well Jake, (or his twin) was not on our radar but knowing our author's penchant for surprise plot twists, I expect more surprises from Jake. Perhaps the next chapter could be sooner than expected as we!l!

Since almost everyone else voiced an opinion, I vote that Travis goes to UCLA. It has great programs and he could minor in business. I suggest Mark could set up a poll.
