I enjoyed this latest chapter with the families getting to know each other better along with the extra family time each young man got with his own family over Thanksgiving. It's so nice to have a story of intergenerational relationships without angst, anger, preaching or bullying!

Glad you like it and hope it holds your interest!

A bit of personal care luxury in a world gone crazy makes a lot of sense to me! I think the addition of MaryAnn who brought along Hope was serendipitous!

Wash in the pool, rinse in the shower, does sound like a college kid scheme. With the high chlorine levels in some pools, I hope his clothes didn't get too faded. It was an interesting setup for the meet up between them. Now if they could just get out of the clothes and into the fun shower...

Engineer Benson - Chapter 9 July 23 - 24, 1993
Daddydavek commented on Wayne Gray's story chapter in Engineer Benson - Chapter 9 July 23 - 24, 1993
Garrett is proving to be a valuable asset. His younger sister is too in being alert and spotting the three zombies approach. Mr. Buck and Erin are too. I hope the smoke is indicative of more survivors. Whether they will be of help or want to stay isolated is the question. Fear can freeze you and prevent you from making changes. -
"“I think the most obvious model for you and Travis is to have a standard, high-school-like romance where you pledge to be together and be faithful,” he said, implying that we were that immature. We probably were, because we were both still in high school, but that just made his comment more annoying." Both still of highschool age but did I dream that Will graduated early, was accepted at Harvard and was taking time off in a gap year? Other than the above, I thought Will with the help of Casey and Kevin figured out somethings about himself and maybe could change some preconceptions.... The progress of Travis was also truly impressive, I figured he'd keep hiding himself from everyone out of fear.

A solid transition into their new quarters, but tomorrow lessons begin. Hopefully the dorm settles down, otherwise the guys might have to spend a lot of time in the library to study.

Set in the Summer of 2022, this book in the CJ-verse takes us on a trip to Cuba. The descriptions of the places and the people are up to Carlos' usual high standard and in a tightly written narrative he takes us along, meeting some interesting and powerful people, as well as a snarky one in Jay who is an ugly American in the touristy sense as well as in reality. If you haven't already dipped into CJ's exploits, I heartily recommend you do so. You will not be disappointed!

Poor Jackson and friends, they keep fucking up their lives without even trying. Talk about real losers. Corey has actually been a godsend for Nate and his family as they are finally reconnecting after the loss of mom. I'm really enjoying this story!

A cliffie! The need for speed is overwhelming, but I'm afraid of the consequences...

"Going through a change...." Henry runs like the wind and Tomas announces he's there to help...with the transition! Now that's interesting! On to the next chapter.

You do pack a lot of info in a small space! Outlining your stories before writing helps that, so stop! I really enjoyed this Cuban adventure! Thanks for sharing.

Chapter 8 - July 22, 1993
Daddydavek commented on Wayne Gray's story chapter in Chapter 8 - July 22, 1993
It appears Mr Buck did not let himself go and was taking down a large group of zombies when M&W entered the melee. His comment about the sheets which drew an assortment of reactions shows he isn't clueless either. In my opinion, all the additions to the survivors are keepers, including the middle aged ones. -

Chapter 4 - Truth and Lust.
Daddydavek commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 4 - Truth and Lust.
The best chapter yet! Everyone has their insecurities, but Nathan and Corey have shared them and gotten insight and understanding. And being hormonal teens, they connected. Again, well done!- 22 comments

I'm just glad that after a very exciting day which included diving and discovering treasure followed by an evening drive in a restored classic car from the fifties and later a stop at a jazz club with great drinks, the guys had enough left in the tank to have a well-earned sexual romp!

Totally enjoyable, even the scene with Jay. Camillo is genuine and interesting. I bet he come through with the book of poetry. I will have to check if Google maps does street views in Cuba!

Their plans are ambitious but doable with a lot of hard work. Time management skills will be required as well. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Jake is a bit entitled. Brian could be acting out because something happened to Bryan... Helicopter parents are annoying. Good start. I'll have to follow.

Happy Birthday and thanks for your gift. I loved the chapter even the scene with Jay who continues to be almost trumpian rude! I always enjoy your brief descriptive sketches!

Not knowing the language is one thing, but expecting everyone to speak English is crass. And Jay's behavior confirms it. My next stop is the forum to see if you posted pictures. P.S. The chapter was appreciated despite it's extreme brevity!

Somehow I wasn't totally surprised it was Travis who was responsible for torching Zach's truck. I'm glad Travis feels safe staying at the Malibu house. I wouldn't be surprised if Tony and Mason ended up living and working in SoCal either. I'm looking forward to spring break in Hawaii! P.S. Happy 4-20!
